Abstract

Pancasila is the source of all sources of law in Indonesia, therefore all legal arrangements must originate from Pancasila. However, in reality there were hundreds of laws that were canceled because they were not in accordance with Pancasila. The purpose of this research is to examine the description of the perceptions and attitudes of the academic community towards the conformity of laws and regulations with Pancasila. Respondents in this study are the academic community. The method used in this research is correlation analysis. The measurement used in this study was made by the research team based on Sarwono's theory of perception (2009) and Oskamp & Schultz's theory of attitudes (2005). This study found that there is a significant positive relationship between perception and attitude of the academic community towards the conformity of the Indonesian law with Pancasila. It can be concluded that the academic community in general understands that there is a mismatch between the Inodnesian Law and Pancasila.

Abstract

The pandemic situation due to the COVID-19 outbreak that is happening in Indonesia is causing a completely changing situation, thus making high school students experience confusion in choosing a career after graduating from school. This problem can be solved if students have academic hardiness so that they contribute to career decision self-efficacy (CDSE). This study aims to determine the relationship between academic hardiness and career decision self-efficacy. This research was conducted on 362 high school students (91 male students, 271 female students) in the areas of Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, Bogor and Bekasi. The high school students consisted of 252 high school students, 32 vocational students, and 78 MA students. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between academic hardiness and students' career decision self-efficacy. The stronger the student's academic hardiness, the stronger the student's career decision self-efficacy (r = 0.445 and p = 0.000). Based on the results of this study, career counselors in schools can help high school students (SMA, SMK and MA) improve career decision self-efficacy by teaching academic hardiness skills.

Abstract

Impulsive buying can have a negative impact on individuals. Based on the preliminary study, the respondent stated that one of the negative impacts arising from the tendency of impulsive buying was financial problems, which led to a feeling of discomfort that did not match the criteria of mental health. This study aims to determine the tendency of impulsive buying among students in terms of psychopathology. The respondent in this study is one of the Semarang State University students who has a tendency to impulsive buying. The data in this study were obtained from semi-structured interviews and were analyzed using holistic analysis. The data credibility test is done by using the member check technique. The results of the study refer to the tendency of impulsive buying to respondents which can be caused by psychoanalytic aspects (intrapsychic conflict of respondents when they are 4 years old), behavioral aspects (wrong learning patterns where respondents always see their parents who continue to provide what they ask for), and cognitive aspects ( mistakes in thinking, that the respondent thinks all desires must be properly satisfied).

Abstract

Currently, cancer is one of the main causes of death in the world, while cancer prevalence in Indonesia has increased every year. Unfortunately, cancer is not an easily detected disease and it often causes initial shock when the patients first received the diagnosis. These patients are confronted with feelings of uncertainty and threat about their lives, and it can cause inevitable stress to the individuals, which will affect the healing process. This study aims to explore some variables in psychology such as hope, emotion regulation, and satisfaction with life. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, purposive sampling and the number of subjects is 11 people. The results showed a tendency for high levels of hope, low to moderate levels of life satisfaction, emotional regulation using cognitive appraisal and suppression of expression in patients who had just been diagnosed with cancer. It is expected that the description of the data in these variables can be used in a preliminary study for further research so that these variables can play a role in helping newly diagnosed patients who are undergoing treatments or in the healing process.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic caused working mothers to work from home, while simultaneously taking care for their family especially their children, as well as their daily household chores. Should things continue to be the same, working mothers might experience stress due to conflict of having multiple roles. The purpose of this research is to draw an overview of stress induced by having multiple roles experienced by working mothers, paying attention to their ways to alleviate the stress as well. Research was conducted using phenomenology qualitative method, collecting data in interviews with subjects of three (3) working mothers working from home in pandemic, have children ranging from zero (0) to twelve (12) years old of age, and currently not having any forms of household assistance such as maids and/or butlers to assist them reducing their roles in taking care of daily household chores. Research output yields answers that working mothers do experience stress from having multiple roles that conflict in terms of time, strain, and behavior. Various stress-coping strategies such as being more active, constructing plans, accepting stressful conditions, seeking religious aid, also seeking both instrumental and emotional aid, are being utilized. Research output also indicates that practice of working from home during the pandemic yields potential to induce stress to work-from-home working mothers as consequences of having multiple roles conflicting one another. Helping aids from work environment and family are needed to assist working mothers to help them deal with said conflicts.

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic forced the Government of Indonesia to shut down all the schools at all levels including high school and change it to online learning to respond to this situation. With these transitions along with increased demands that must be managed may cause stress for high school teachers. Moreover, this condition can affect their performance in teaching and may impact educational quality. This study aims to describe work stressors and coping strategies for high school teachers in online learning during the pandemic. In this research, the method used was a qualitative with phenomenological approach. The data are taken from three high school teachers who experienced a transition from face-to-face to online teaching in South Tangerang with interview technique. The results show that during this pandemic, teachers are experiencing various stressors including financial decline, adjustment to policies and technology, increased workload, and multiple role conflicts. Several coping strategies are used to deal with their stress such as emotion-focused (escapism, self-blame, and seeking meaning) and problem-focused coping strategies (instrumental action, caution, and negotiation). The results indicate that it is necessary to pay attention to teacher’s mental health conditions during the pandemic and provide support needed to help them dealing with their work stressor.

Abstract

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID‑19) has forced the world to come into a halt. Houses have been board up, cultures and the normality of humans as social beings have been overhauled. The model of psychological wellbeing of teenagers during this pandemic is the main discussion of this research. This study was done using the sequential mixed method. The three phases of this research attempts to answer the following questions: “How are the seven variables (Self Efficacy (SE), Emotional Intelligence (EI), Peer Attachment (PA), Social Support (SS), Meaning of Life (ML), Resilience (R)c and Psychological Wellbeing (PW)) that affect the psychological wellbeing of teenagers during the COVID-19 pandemic related?”, “What are the qualitative findings related to the types of psychological disorders that teenagers have experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic?” Quantitative data gathering was done using the likert scale, while qualitative data collection was done through interviews. This research involved 849 respondents during the first phase and 17 interviewees on the second phase. All participants are teenagers with age range 12-17 years old. The first phase of the study has shown that the SEM model fit test showed that the structural model tested in this study was stated or fit with an RMSEA value of 0.012. The results of hypothesis testing to see the significance of the relationship between variables were carried out by t-test with p values of 0.05 and 0.10. There are 25 hypotheses accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. Meanwhile, two hypotheses, H4 and H14 are rejected, i.e. emotional intelligence and meaning of life show no significant effect on psychological well-being among teenagers during the Covid-19 Pandemic. In the second phase, it was found that the type of psychological disorder(s) experienced by teenagers during the pandemic include: anxiety, mood swings and obsessive compulsive disorder.
