Abstract

When working on their final projects, students often fall prey to academic procrastination. This is when they consciously delay academic tasks due to a lack of self-discipline, which can have negative consequences. To investigate this issue, a study was conducted on students who procrastinated while working on their final projects. The study utilized a research and development approach, with the goal of creating effective self-regulated learning modules to combat academic procrastination. The participants, three students who had worked on their final projects for four semesters, were chosen through purposive sampling. Data was collected through interviews and a procrastination scale. Results showed that all participants had high levels of procrastination, both before and during the completion of their final projects, due to a lack of self-regulated learning skills. To address this, the researchers developed a module based on self-regulated learning theory and data from the participants. The module was evaluated by both participants and experts, and was found to be effective in overcoming academic procrastination while working on final projects.

Abstract

Religiosity is often associated with the good and bad condition of an individual's mental health so a lot of negative stigma arises on mental health issues. This study aims to scientifically prove the relationship between religiosity and mental health. This research method uses a quantitative method with an accidental sampling technique. To measure religiosity, the Muslim Religiosity Scale was used and to measure mental health, the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale 21 (DASS-21) was used. This study involved 133 participants from 13 provinces in Indonesia with 19.50% male participants and 80.50% female participants. Based on the results of the Paired Sample T-test, the results showed that there was no significant relationship between religiosity and the symptoms of mental health disorder, the correlation of religiosity and depression with r = -0.42; p > 0.05, with anxiety r = -0.29; p > 0.05, and with stress r = -0.36; p > 0.05. Based on the results of the study, we can interpret that the individual mental health aspect does not have a significant relationship with the high or low level of religiosity.

Abstract

So far there is no research media available, especially in the field of psychology based on information systems that can provide direct rewards to participants in the form of participant self-report results in a study. The research media that currently exist only take participant data and cannot provide rewards directly. Rewards are usually in the form of phone credits which are given randomly to participant representatives who are selected by drawing lots. This is not in accordance with research ethics. Therefore, an information system-based psychological research media is needed that can be used by many psychology researchers, such as lecturers and students, so this research is important to do. This research is divided into two stages, namely the validity and reliability testing stage of the measuring instrument which is a pioneer in this information system and the design and application stage of the information system. The measuring tool that became a pioneer to be applied to menelisik.id is the Big Five Inventory Extra Short Forms 2 (BFI-2-XS) from Soto and John (2017). The website search.id was successfully designed and applied, in accordance with the research objectives. There were 241 respondents who used the BFI-2-XS measuring tool on menelisik.id, with most being in the high category for the agreeableness dimension. In addition, respondents were also asked to fill out a user satisfaction survey for searching.id, where the result was that 51.9% of respondents were satisfied. Henceforth, researching.id will be processed by Intellectual Property Rights and made to be more user friendly for researchers, both lecturers and students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Pancasila.

Abstract

There has been limited research on investigating young adults’ regulatory responses to the positive career goal discrepancies (current career progress ahead of career goal). In fact, it is important to further explore this topic to optimize young adults’ career potential. This study hypothesized that young adults who experienced positive career goal discrepancies would more likely engage in career exploration activities that would trigger upward career goal revisions. We tested that hypothesis by using a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional study. About 314 first-year undergraduate students (Mage = 18.63, SD = 0.81) was hired using the accidental sampling technique were participated in this study. The Positive Career Goal Discrepancy, The Career Exploration, and The Upward Career Goal Revision Scales were used to collect the data. The mediation analysis shows that positive career goal discrepancy trigger young adult’s to revise their career goal upward, both directly and indirectly via career explorations(range of 95% CI indirect effect [.007 - .019]). Young adults who experienced positive career goal discrepancies would engage in career exploration activities, which would trigger them to set a more challenging career goal. This result inform the career counsellor and practitioners on how to optimize young adults career potentials.

Abstract

Cyberloafing or the behavior of employees who carry out online activities outside of work during working hours has become commonplace over the last 20 years, and is difficult to avoid it because almost all jobs require internet access. This activity can interfere with the effectiveness of their works, but there is not much research on this, especially when it is related to online disinhibition. Online disinhibition is a psychological condition experienced by individuals who feel more comfortable doing certain behaviors online than in real life. This study aims to determine the relationship between online disinhibition and cyberloafing among employees. This research was conducted using quantitative research methods, especially correlational analysis. The measurement tools were an adaptation of the Instrument of Social Purpose Cyberloafing (Megawati, et al., 2023) to measure cyberloafing behavior and the Online Disinhibition Scale (Suler, 2004) to measure online disinhibition. Respondents in this study totaled 121 people, obtained by convenience technique sampling, in which respondents filled out a research questionnaire on the site of menelisik.id. The results obtained in this study show that there is a relationship between online disinhibition and cyberloafing among employees. Suggestion for further research to do the research to find the role of online disinhibition in cyberloafing. Applicative suggestion for company leaders to create an atmosphere that makes employees more comfortable working so as to reduce cyberloafing behavior among them.

Abstract

The number of people with autism in Indonesia has reached 2.4 million people. Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have limitations in social functioning, as well as the ability to communicate and behave. These limitations are the main influencing factors in choosing a career to pursue. Given this, researchers wanted to see an overview of life skills and career development stages in ASD students at School Y. This research was conducted using a mixed methods convergent parallel design. Data collection was carried out through interviews (qualitative) and behavior checklist (quantitative). The number of participants was five ASD students who had studied for at least three years at School Y. Given the limitations of the ASD students, information was collected from teachers (first informant) and caregivers of each student (second informant). The data analysis strategy used in this study is thematic analysis and descriptive statistics. The results showed that the five ASD students at School Y had quite good mastery of life skills in personal and social skills but were still limited to academic and vocational skills. In terms of the development of career stages, three students are already at a career stage appropriate to their age. The support of parents and teachers in helping ASD students identify their interests, talents, strengths, and weaknesses is very instrumental for better career planning skills.

The results of the study found seven articles that examined the importance of the role of self-regulation in working students in achieving academic success and managing their careers well. The conclusion is that self-regulation is crucial for academic success, influenced by goal orientation and other factors.
