Abstract

Life insurance agents main role is to achieve sales targets policy. Success in achieving sales target is determined by the traits of the agent (Sutoyo, 2000). Traits can move and direct the person‟s behavior in dealing with other people in the environment (Allport, 1955). The traits that can support the success of agents in marketing insurance products expressed by Sukardi (1991, dalam Riyanti, 2009), which consists of an instrumental trait, the trait of achievement, the trait of social flexibility, hard work trait, self-confidence trait, risk-taking trait, the trait of self-control, innovative trait, and self-reliance trait. The purpose of this study is to describe the nine traits of life insurance agent PT X. Researcher used a quantitative approach, with an inventory of nine traits consist of 90 items. Researcher test the validity with the internal consistency method ( valid 80 items ) as well as reliability testing method with Cronbach alpha, with reliability coefficient of 0575-0789 on 87 agents. Data from 87 agencies were also taken researchers to address issues of research, analysis, and interpretation. Sampling was carried out using non-probability techniques are accidental sampling. The result showed that the dominant traits in life insurance agents are social flexibility trait, self-confidence, hard work, self-control, risk-taking, achivement, and instrumental trait. While the traits are less dominant in the life insurance agent are innovative and self-reliance trait. Keywords: life insurance agent, traits, description of nine traits

Abstract

Technology such as smartphones is growing rapidly. Development of applications such as instant messengers, social networks even easier for everyone to communicate, the distance is not an obstacle now. In addition to ease of access, the smartphone can also give confidence to users, in addition to models of smartphones increasingly stylish, applications that can be installed therein can make smartphone users are always updated with the latest news. The psychological impact caused by the use of smartphones on individuals and society in general about changing behavior and habits before and after use. Nomophobia (no-mobile-phone-phobia) is a type of phobia characterized by excessive fear if someone loses or does not exist near his smartphone. People who experience nomophobia always live in fear and are always anxious to put or keep his smartphone, so always take it anywhere to go. The questionnaire used to nomophobia is an adaptation of the questionnaire Yildirim (2014), composed of 4 dimensions with 20 statements. As for the questionnaire confidence, based on the theory of Justice (2002) derived into 3 dimensions with 46 statements. Results of the reliability values obtained for instruments confidence of 0.944, while the result of the reliability values for nomophobia instrument amounted to 0,939. The results of the data analysis of the correlation between nomophobia and confidence showed a p-value = 0.626> α = 0.05. This shows that there is no relationship between nomophobia with confidence. Abstract

Epilepsy is the physical illness in many years that have biological, psychological, sociological and spiritual aspect that have impact in individual quality life. Future of patient with epilepsy illness is being determined from psychological condition, in particular in psychological well-being conditions. Patient with epilepsy grandmal often have emotional disorder. They can not accept her or himself, high anxiety, break down feeling, depression, helpless feeling, shame feeling, sadness, dependent, not confident, and defendant feeling, so that emotion negative was have difficult to grow up in self-actualization. The psychology well-being is condition who someone have accept her or himself, accept the past memories, grow up, have a meaning life, positive relation with people, have capacity of managing self, confident to deciding whatever something best. Enhancement of psychology well-being is being done by rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) which is a technique to straighten irrationally minded that create emotionally disorder. This research use qualitative (in- depth interview, observation) and psychological test. Besides that, questionnaire, pre-test, and post-test. Subject in this research is woman, 21 years old who has epilepsy grandmal illness in the low psychological well-being condition. She has  average IQ and emotional disorder. The intervention is being done in tenth. According result by questionnaire data, the intervention has be done is positive result. It has enhancement of  psychological well-being for subject who epilepsy grandmal. Abstract

This study aims to determine how the humor in the salesperson at Auto 2000 in Jakarta based on a review of Indigenous Psychology. Research instruments using open-ended questionnaire that is based on the results of focus group discussion. Answers were analyzed using thematic analysis method. Number of subjects , 134 people from five Auto 2000 branch office in Jakarta . The results of the data showed that most subjects utilizing humor as a way of reducing stress . Humor is used mostly quite aggressive humor and enjoy aggressive humor television scene. Aggressive humor is like mocking and bullying on someone. There is also the use of humor as a way to maintain relationships with others, such as negotiate with customers, which is associated with affliative humor . Keywords : Humor , salesperson , Indigenous Psychology

Abstract

The purpose of study is to look at the relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety in Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University. Bandura (Warsito, 2004) defines self-efficacy is an individual belief that he managed to do something in a certain situation. Bandura (1986) explaines that there are three components, self-efficacy magnitude, generality and strength. Muchlas (in Ghufron & Risnawita, 2011) defines that the term anxiety as a subjective experience of mental distress tensions and pressures that accompaied by conflict or threat. There are three components of public speaking anxiety expressed by Dacey and Fiore (2002), psychological, physiological and social. The subject of this study were Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University force from 2008 to 2011. The study was conducted using quantitative methods. The data was collected by spreading questionnaire. Based on research results, obtained by the correlation coefficient of -0.658, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between self-efficacy with public speaking anxiety in Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University Study, is accepted. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Children with autism have deficit characteristics in social communication and social interaction, as well as restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, and limited interests or activities. As children grow and engage in a wider environment, this is become a problem because of the lack of social skills on children with autism. The purpose of this research is to improve the social skills of children with autism. There are several methods that can be applied to children with autism to improve their social skills. One of them is the DIR (Developmental, Individual Differences, & Relationship Based) Floortime method. DIR Floortime aims to help children reach the stage of their emotional development through play activities. This type of research is a clinical case study, involving two middle childhood boys that are diagnosed with a mild level of autism. The instruments used in this study are Autism Social Skills Profile and Functional Emotional Assessment Scale. This research involves 20 sessions, conducted in May until June 2018, consisting of 10 sensory sessions and 10  symbolic sessions for each subject. The results of this research show an improvement in social skills in both participants, marked by an increase in the post test scores, but not significantly. Qualitatively, both subject demonstrates an improvement on social skills in their daily behavior after they had participated in the intervention.Keywords: autism spectrum disorder, middle childhood, DIR Floortime,social skills ABSTRAK: Anak autistik memiliki karakteristik kesulitan dalam komunikasi dan interaksi sosial serta adanya yang minat terbatas, perilaku berulang, atau keterikatan dalam minat dan aktivitas. Hal ini menjadi masalah saat anak tumbuh seiring usia dan terlibat dalam lingkungan yang lebih luas karena kurangnya kemampuan sosial pada anak autistik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sosial anak autistik. Ada beberapa metode yang dapat diterapkan pada anak autistik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sosial. Salah satunya adalah metode DIR (Developmental, Individual Differences, & Relationship Based) Floortime. DIR Floortime  bertujuan membantu anak mencapai tahap perkembangan emosionalnya melalui kegiatan bermain. Jenis penelitian ini adalah case study yang melibatkan dua orang partisipan, yaitu anak laki-laki berusia middle childhood dengan autisme level Mild. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah Autism Social Skills Profile dan Functional Emotional Assesment Scale. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 20 sesi intervensi yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei hingga Juni 2018. Sesi intervensi terdiri dari 10 sesi sensori auditori dan 10 sesi simbolik bagi masing-masing subjek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada kapasitas emosi, tetapi kemampuan sosial kedua partisipan tidak meningkat secara signifikan. Secara kualitatif, kedua subjek menunjukkan kemampuan sosial yang lebih baik setelah mengikuti sesi intervensi, hal ini tampak dalam perilaku sehari-hari.Kata kunci: autisme, middle childhood, DIR Floortime, kemampuan sosial

Abstract

Childhood is the the beginning period of the development of intelligence, the role of adult and parenting environment can initially be applied to develop the cognitive abilities of children. Subjects in this study were pre-school children who are raised in an orphanage, with the best upbringing. This study is a descriptive quantitative research, data collection techniques using survey techniques and analyzed by descriptive data analysis techniques. These results indicate that the intelligence picture of preschool children who are raised in foster homes in the category of above average percentage of 75% of the sample, intelligence is measured using a CPM test (Coloured Progressive Matrics).Keywords : intelligence, anak pra sekolah, orphanage

Abstract

College as an educational institution has an important role in education. Aside from being a bridge for the transformation of knowledge, the college is also in charge of creating human beings are skilled and reliable in the face of the real working world. In order to achieve these objectives, the role of the lecturer as an educator at the college is very important.In this case spirituality at work is needed to improve the quality of the lecture. Spirituality at work is one of the psychological climate in which people who work have an internal life that nourishes and nurtured by meaningful work, and feeling connected with others and with the community in workplace. Purpose of this study is to describe spirituality at work on lectures in Jakarta. The method used is descriptive method, a method in researching the status of a group of people, an object, condition, thought, or an event in the present, the goal is to create a description, picture, or painting in a systematic, factual and accurate information on the facts-facts, properties and relationships between the phenomena investigated. The results obtained in this study is spirituality at work on lectures in Jakarta who are in the high category with the percentage is 28.83%, with the validity of .30 and reliability of .940. Keywords: Spirituality, Sprituality at work, lecturers

Abstract

Organization Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is known to have important role for supporting employee performance in a company. Considering this positive outcomes for company, many researcher began to gave interest on this topic. This study aimed to see the role of personal value on employees OCB behavior. The study was conducted on 30-dyads employee and their supervisor from several types of industrial backgrounds. Unlike previous OCB studies in Indonesia, this time, OCB would be measured using a rating from the supervisor. Personal value will be masured by employee self-report. Thus, common method variance bias can be avoided. The result show that only achievement values significantly affect OCB behavior, meanwhile power and benevolence did not significantly affect OCB behavior.  Keyword: Organization Citizenship Behavior, Indonesian employee, Personal Value

Abstract

Education is one of the most important aspects of life for the individual. Education is an effort to realize the active learning process, and education also serves to develop the potential of learners. But in achieving that goal, the individual doesn’t escape from the difficulties or challenges. Basically, every individual has the ability to withstand the challenges / difficulties that are called by adversity quotient. Through research, researchers tried to see if there is a direct relationship between adversity quotient and learning achievement in psychology courses BM University. This study used quantitative research methods and belong to the type of correlational study. Data collection techniques used are AQ questionnaire from Stoltz (2007) and learning achievements obtained from the IP (GPA). The results obtained are no direct relationship between adversity quotient and student learning achievement in psychology courses at UBM with r = .134 (p> .05 ). Students of Psychology Faculty fall into the category Campers because it has tended to have moderate levels of AQ. Gender and age did not show any significant difference to the level of AQ. This study shows that students tend to give up easily and pessimistic when challenges or difficulties growing. Keywords: Adversity Quotient, Learning Achievement, Students
