Abstract

PP No. 30 of 1990 on Higher Education defines that the student is enrolled learners and gain knowledge on a particular college, the institution aims to prepare students to be members of the community who have the academic ability and or professionals who can apply, develop and or create science knowledge, technology, and or art. College world is a new world, different from the high school days. Although some teenagers will still live with parents, self-reliance becomes absolutely necessary in managing studies in college. The problems faced by students, especially new students are varied, ranging from adjustment problems, problems in relationships with fellow students, problems with assignments, problems with teachers, and so forth. All kinds of problems faced by students can influence acquisition performance index achieved during one semester. Counseling is one of services that can be provided for students with low GPA. The method in this study is qualitative. Based on the results obtained with the sample number as many as 70 students, obtained a picture of the problem is as follows: 45.7% for introspection disability issues, 21.4% self-concept and family problems, motivational problems 18.6%, 8.6% learning time management issues, and issues of interest by 5.7%. Counseling include steps proposed by Brammer and MacDonald (2003) covers the determination of problems and goals; problem solving, decision making and planning and behavior change. Keywords: mapping problems, low GPA, counseling

Abstract

This study uses art therapy as an art-based assessment in children with ODD in orphanages. Art therapy is one form of therapy that also has an assessment function, especially as a projection test tool. Art therapy can be used as an assessment tools by using art media called art based assessment. The purpose of this study to determine the characteristics of children with ODD in orphanages through the use of art therapy as an art based assessment. The image analyze is based on colors, themes, styles of expression and composition. The study was conducted in August – November 2017. The results showed that five subjects used dominant colors is hot color and dark; theme a form of aggression; style of expression in drawing is well-controlled line but disorganized; and the combination of many images in middle position. Art therapy as an art-based assessment in this study is reliable because its accordance with the principle of reability such as repetitions theme, repetitions forms, and repetitions color. There is a matching result with the final diagnosis of children with ODD. Art-based assessment can be used as a consideration for assessing children with ODD to determine the appropriate treatment in children. Keywords: Art Therapy, Art Based Assessment, ODD, Orphanage

Abstract

The number of diseases in the world has many types and varieties, ranging from severe to mild. One of the diseases that are classified as severe and deadly cancer. Cancer is one of the diseases that are very scary for everyone, both in Indonesia and in the world, one of which is breast cancer. Breast cancer not only affects women, but can be attacked by men. In the world, breast cancer experienced by 99 % of women and 1 % of men. The aim of this study was to see how the image psychological well-being in middle age women with breast cancer who have a mastectomy. Psychological well-being itself has several aspects and factors that can be used in patients with breast cancer. The aspect is self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery  purpose in life, and personal growth. As for the factors that are owned psychological well-being is of age, gender, socioeconomic status, education , and culture.Keywords: breast cancer, middle age, psychological well-being.

Abstract

Starting era of globalization and technology, is an era by setting a particular specification for the human resources that give great influence to the world of education. At some universities, especially educational organizations, people or human resources is an important element, in this case is a lecturer. Competency of lecturers will be increased according to increasing faculty commitment to the profession. Therefore, it is important as an educational institution (college) to be able to create the conditions and climate that can strengthen the commitment of profession. Lecturer professional commitment was measured using a questionnaire based on the characteristics of a profession committed lecturer in the opinion of Meyer and Allen (in Bagraim, 2003), the reliability of 0.811. The population were the University of “XY” lecturer. Subjects in this study were drawn from a total of 48 lecturer with a saturation sampling technique (Sugiyono, 2005). This study aims to know the description of the profession's commitment of University of “XY”. Survey data collection method and analyzed by descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the profession's commitment lecturer University of “XY” Jakarta is reflected in a positive affective commitment to the profession.Keywords: description of professional commitment, commitment, lecturer profession

Abstract

People with autism has problems such as talking and understanding, and usually they have difficulty interacting with others and the environment. When they were diagnosed with autism, they will have feelings of shock, sadness, worry, embarrassment and fear. To be able to accept the state of autism children needed self-acceptance, This research can be done to determine what factors that can affect a person. This method uses qualitative method of phenomenology type with observation method and result to collect data. The study was conducted on five parents who have children with autism, where children and parents live together. The results of this study can be concluded that factors that are not owned by the subject K is the pattern of care in childhood is good, the effect of success experienced. Factors that Subject D does not have are obstacles in the environment, the impact of success experienced, the self-concept is stable. Factors that are not owned by H is the effect of success experienced, the pattern of foster in childhood is good, stable self-concept. Factors that are not owned by N is the influence of success that occurs and the pattern of foster in good times are good. Abstract

Mental retardation is disability of intelectual functioning and maladaptive behaviour during development. There are some parents can accept their children but there’s also parents that can’t accept the reality to have children with mental retardation. The purpose of this research is knowing parental acceptance who have child with mental retardation. The research use quantitative method, use a questionaire to collect data. The subject of this study is the parents who have mental retardation children in SLB DG and SLB SJ as many as 62 parents.Validty test results with product moment correlation was obtained 34 valid items with validity coefficients range from 0.252 up to 0.817. reliability test results obtained by the cronbach alpha reliability coefficient 0.950. The result is parents have low parental acceptance (48%) towards the mental retardation condition of their children. Factors that influence the parental acceptance are a lack understanding about mental retardation, unpreparedness to face the child’s condition, less communication in family, and negative perception about the child limitation. Keywords : parental acceptance, mentally retarded child

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to check if there is a significant correlation between body image satisfaction and self-esteem among early adult women while dieting in Jakarta. Dieting is the most way to dealing with body dissatisfaction in women. It is assumed that dieting women might have high body image satisfaction and also high in self-esteem. If the dieting mowen have low body image satisfaction, they might also have low self-esteem. Participants of this study are 100 women between 20-30 years old, having popular diet (unhealthy diet) for 3 months or more, living in Jakarta, and having an average or normal BMI (Body Mass Index). This study uses purposive sampling for the sampling technique. Participants were given 2 questionnaires, Multidimensional Body-Self Related Questionnaire by Cash dan Self-Esteem Scale by Rosenberg. The result shows a significant correlation between body image satisfaction and self-esteem among early adult women while dieting in Jakarta. Further discussion explains about other score combinations among participants. High body image satisfaction doesn’t always correlated with high self-esteem, vice versa. This study also gives a general capture about the reasons for dieting among respondents not only because of their own desires and body image satisfaction is not the only one factor that affects someone’s self-esteem. Keyword: body image satisfaction, self esteem, woman

Abstract

Compensation is all income in the form of money, goods directly or indirectly received by an employee in return for services rendered to the company. Job satisfaction is a positive feeling about one's work is the result of an evaluation of its characteristics. The purpose of this study was to determine how important the effect of compensation on job satisfaction of employees at PT. X in Central Jakarta which affects the performance of employees at PT. X, Central Jakarta.This study uses quantitative research methods. Using the questionnaire method. The population in this study are all of the employees of PT. X in Central Jakarta by the number of employees 120 employees. Based on measurements using the formula Yamane then of the whole population of 120 people then the sample in this study as many as 92 people. Based on calculations MAS, showed p-value 0.000 <0.05, significant meaning, while the F count 137.796> F table of 3.96, meaning that significant. This means that compensation affects the job satisfaction of employees. Based on calculations using SPSS 12 for windows (data attached), shows the value of the adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) of 0.601 means that 60.1% of dependent variables of job satisfaction is explained by the independent variable compensation and the remaining 39.9% is explained by other variables outside variables used. When viewed from the calculation then the correlation between job satisfaction variable compensation by showing figure of 0.778. The figure shows a strong correlation and direction. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion that has been presented, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between positive towards the provision of compensation to the job satisfaction of employees in PT. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The objective of this research is to figure out the strength of impact that parental involvement and emotion regulation brings toward future orientation. Future orientation is the image that a person have about his future, that represented and reported. The future orientation that became the focus of this research is the future orientation in career domain. The parental involvement mean the participation and concerns parents provide in involvement, autonomy support, and warmth. Then, in emotion regulation term, research focused on the expression suppression dan cognitive reappraisal emotion regulation methods. Sampling method that used is purposive sampling (total of sample 242 student of bachelor programmes in Universitas X). The method of data analysis using linear regression of double correlation. The data shows that future orientation (Y)influenced by the parental involvement (independent variable -1 or X1)and emotion regulation (independent variable -2 or X2) . The double correlation between X1 and X2 was scored 0,291, with the determinant coefficient (R2) 0,085. It means the strength of influence from the two independent variable is 8,5 %, and the 91,5% left influenced by others variables. At anova test, F test was bigger than F table (11.032 > 3.04), so that parental involvement (X1) and emotion regulation (X2) influence future orientation simultaneously. The research shows that both of parental involvement and emotion regulation contributes or bring impact to the changes of future orientation.Keywords: future orientation, parental involvement, emotion regulation. ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat seberapa besar peran keterlibatan orang tua dan regulasi emosi terhadap orientasi masa depan. Orientasi masa depan merupakan gambaran yang individu bentuk berkaitan dengan masa depan, yang secara sadar direpresentasikan dan dikemukakan oleh individu. Orientasi masa depan yang menjadi perhatian dalam penelitian ini adalah orientasi masa depan pada domain karir. Keterlibatan orang tua yang dimaksud adalah bentuk partisipasi dan perhatian yang diberikan orang tua dalam bentuk keterlibatan, dukungan otonomi dan kehangatan. Kemudian pada regulasi emosi, yang menjadi perhatian adalah metode regulasi expression suppression dan cognitive reappraisal. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 242 partisipan yang merupakan mahasiswa S1 Universitas Tarumanagara. Metode analisis data menggunakan regresi ganda. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orientasi masa depan (dependent variable atau Y) dipengaruhi oleh keterlibatan orang tua (independent variable-1 atau X1) dan regulasi emosi (independent variable-2 atau X2). Korelasi ganda antara X1 dan X2 terhadap Y sebesar 0,291, koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,085. Artinya besar pengaruh kedua variabel tersebut adalah 8,5 %, 91,5 % sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel-variabel lain. Pada uji anova, F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel (11.032 > 3.04) sehingga secara bersama-sama keterlibatan orang tua (X1) dan regulasi emosi (X2) berpengaruh terhadap orientasi masa depan (Y). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel keterlibatan orang tua dan regulasi emosi memberikan kontribusi atau pengaruh terhadap perubahan pada orientasi masa depan.Kata Kunci: orientasi masa depan, keterlibatan orang tua, regulasi emosi

Abstract

Online game is a game that is loved by many people of ages ranging from children to adults. Online games can trigger addiction that can cause effects such as withdrawal, aggressiveness, problems in interpersonal relationships and can even lead to psychological disorders. This study aimed to examine the relationship between online gaming addiction and social skills in early adult game players. The method used is quantitative method and included into the type of correlational research. Respondents in this study is the online game players in the cafe Jakarta Barat, totaling 342 people. The results of this study revealed a significant correlation between addicted to online games and social skills in early adult game players with r = -0367 (p <0.05). Early adult game players have become addicted to the game because it makes online games as an escape from their problems.  Keywords : addicted to online game; social skill;, early adulthood
