Abstract

Background: According to SSGI data (2019-2021), the risk of stunting can manifest before birth and reaches its peak between 6 months (13.8%) and 12 months (27.2%) of age. Community nutrition interventions, particularly during the first thousand days of life, emphasize the consumption of animal protein to expedite the reduction of stunting. In Sukoharjo Regency, based on simultaneous weighing conducted in 2022, the highest prevalence of stunting cases was recorded in Polokarto District at 13.6%. Government initiatives to combat stunting include programs such as "Isi Piringku". Objective: This study aimed to assess the increase in respondents' knowledge through pre-test and post-test evaluations. Method: This activity comprises three stages: pre-test, implementation, and post-test. Questionnaire data obtained will be analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge transfer. Results: Overall, there was a 42.61% increase in knowledgerelated outcomes following the service intervention. The attendance target for service activities was achieved, with 80% participation from all participants. Conclusion: The implementation of the service intervention has provided significant benefits for mothers of toddlers attending Posyandu programs and is anticipated to be sustained in the long term.

Abstract

Background: Elevated blood pressure above the threshold is known as hypertension and is a contributing factor to cardiovascular disease. Lack of knowledge and inadequate physical activity were identified as the main factors contributing to hypertension among 36 individuals in the Padukuhan Jomblangan community of Bantul. This phenomenon occurs not only in old age but also in individuals of productive age. If health intervention is not carried out, sufferers may increase. Objective: To encourage public awareness regarding the prevention of hypertension through blood pressure-checking activities and health education. Method: This program aims to assist individuals with hypertension in Padukuhan Jomblangan, Bantul. To address hypertension, the program utilized health education, blood pressure screenings, and the incorporation of celery plants into family gardens. Health education is carried out through lectures, discussions and questions and answers. Data from blood pressure examinations is processed by comparing it with standards set by the Ministry of Health. Results: 13 people were identified as having level 2 hypertension, and 11 people were identified as having level 1 hypertension. The community was motivated to combat high blood pressure through physical activity, celery consumption, and growing celery at home for its medicinal properties. Abstract

Background: Stunting is associated with various short-term effects such as developmental delays, decreased immune function, impaired cognitive function, and compromised metabolic systems. Furthermore, long-term consequences may include obesity, reduced glucose tolerance, coronary heart disease, hypertension, and osteoporosis. The limited understanding among healthcare cadres regarding comprehensive treatment necessitates interventions to aid in the assistance and recovery of infants identified as stunted. Objective: This activity aims to enhance the knowledge level concerning stunting among healthcare cadres. Method: The initiative will take the form of lectures, discussions, and case studies targeting 68 women from RW 07 cadres in Wonokromo Village. The stunting counseling event for RW 07 Health Cadre, Wonokromo Village, held on July 9 2023, was met with enthusiasm. Results: The presentation emphasized the significance of preventing stunting and highlighted the "1000 First Day of Life" initiative. The outreach activity effectively enhanced knowledge regarding stunting incidence, with 68 participants actively engaged, primarily comprising women aged 36 to 45 years, predominantly housewives. Conclusion: Analysis of pre-test and post-test results revealed a notable increase of 19.2%. Furthermore, the paired t-test demonstrated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test (α = 5%).

Abstract

Background: Farmers can market their crops due to the significant market share for hydroponic agriculture products. However, this presents a dilemma as the market demands a consistent supply of high-quality crops. Precise nutrient levels and controlled chemical-physics parameters are crucial considerations in hydroponic yields. Thus far, these factors have been managed manually, leading to challenges in achieving desired outcomes. Objective: This community service program aimed to address this issue by developing a real-time automated system for monitoring and controlling chemicalphysics parameters and nutrient levels via an Android application. The goal was to enhance the effectiveness and productivity of hydroponic crop harvests. Method: The program commenced with designing the system based on farmer requirements, followed by the installation and testing of equipment at partner locations. Subsequently, technical training on system features and usage was provided. Results: The system was successfully installed at Grahaponik. According to questionnaire responses, 68.4% of farmers expressed satisfaction, and 78.9% of total participants reported that the system was easy to employ. Technology installation, implementation, and dissemination to local hydroponic farmer groups were conducted. Hydroponic farmers acknowledged the user-friendliness of the devices. Conclusion: Partners' acceptance of the instruments was favorable, facilitating their ease of use and thereby enhancing the effectiveness of hydroponic farming.
