Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable and chronic disease; this disease is also generally very closely related to people who are elderly and female. This study aims to determine the effect of age, body mass index, and blood sugar levels on the incidence of type 2 DM. The population of this study was 55,372, which was obtained from secondary data from the offline surveillance form SIPTM (Non-Communicable Disease Information System), Johar Baru Health Center, South Jakarta, 2020; the sample used total sampling. Data analysis using SPSS Ver.25, with bivariate (Chi-Square test) and multivariate (Logistic Regression Enter Method) analysis. The Chi-Square test results showed that the variables of age, body mass index, and blood sugar levels had an association with the incidence of Type 2 DM with a p-value <0.05. The multivariate test results showed that the most influential variable was the blood sugar level variable, with a p-value of 0.00, with OR = 93,302. This means that people with abnormal blood sugar levels have a 93,302 times chance of developing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus compared to people with normal blood sugar levels. Therefore, the most effective preventive measure for this disease is maintaining blood sugar levels in a normal state to avoid the incidence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, namely by diligently checking blood sugar levels and maintaining a healthy diet and life.

Abstract

Antenatal care is the care of the mother and fetus during pregnancy. Currently, the proportion of maternal deaths is approximately 305 deaths per 100 thousand live births, where the largest deaths occur in hospitals, around 77% of mothers cannot be saved, one of which is because the mothers who are referred to the hospital have severe complications. This occurs because identification and examination during pregnancy are not maximized. This study aimed to analyze behavior that influences ANC examinations in pregnant women at Working Area of Mamas Health Center, Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. This is analytical descriptive quantitative research. The population in this study were all third trimester pregnant women with late gestational age in the working area of the Mamas Health Center, Darul Hasanah District, Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh Province in 2022 totaling 211 people. There were 68 samples in this study which were taken by Nonprobability Sampling using the slovin formula. Quantitative data analysis used univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results of the chi-square test obtained for age p= 0.000, education p=0.000, parity p=0.000, distance p=0.000, occupation p=0.000, knowledge p=0.000, husband support p=0.000 and attitude p=0.000 which indicated that there were influencing factors. The conclusion shows that there is a relationship between age, education, parity, distance, occupation, knowledge, attitude and husband's support with ANC examinations at Mamas Health Center in 2022, and the husband's support factor is the most Dominantly affect ANC examinations in pregnant women with an Exp(B) value of 4.691. It is expected that health workers at the Health Center to be more routine and intense in conveying health education to the community, especially to pregnant women and their husbands, about the importance of having ANC examination at least 6 times during pregnancy. Abstract

Diabetic nephropathy is a complication that often occurs in diabetics. In this disease, there is damage to the kidney filter, known as the glomerulus. Due to glomerular damage, diabetic nephropathy is closely related to the mechanism of inflammation. The Monocyte-Lymphocyte Ratio is a relatively new marker of inflammation. This study aims to explore the significance of the prediction of the Monocyte-Lymphocyte Ratio as a predictor of the severity of diabetic nephropathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DMT2) patients at H. Adam Malik Hospital, Medan. The research was conducted using the cross-section method. This study took blood samples from 44 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with diabetic nephropathy, 22 patients with macroalbuminuria, and 22 patients with microalbuminuria. Then blood was drawn from the vein, and the Monocyte-Lymphocyte Ratio was assessed in all patients. In this study, the average MLR for all patients was 0.41±0.037. There was a significant difference between MLR values in diabetic nephropathy patients with macroalbuminuria compared to diabetic nephropathy patients with microalbuminuria (p<0.001). The optimal cut-off value of MLR in predicting diabetic nephropathy with macroalbuminuria and microalbuminuria was 0.37 with a specificity of 81.8% and a sensitivity of 81.8%. The MLR value in type 2 diabetic patients with diabetic nephropathy can be used as a prognostic factor for the incidence of microalbuminuria and macroalbuminuria.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the body's inability to produce insulin according to the body's needs or due to ineffective use of insulin or both. When asked about their understanding of treating gangrene wounds independently, they said they did not fully understand how to treat gangrene wounds. The study aims to determine the correlation between patients' knowledge about diabetic wound care and interest in visiting the surgical clinic at Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital. This type of research used a cross-sectional, with a total sample of 38 respondents. The results showed that most respondents' knowledge was in the good category, namely 22 respondents (57.9%), and the least was in the less good category, 16 respondents (42.1%). The interest in visiting the majority of respondents was in the high class, namely 27 respondents (71.1%), and the least was in the low category, 11 respondents (28.9%). The correlation between the two variables, namely between the respondent's knowledge and interest in visiting the patient, is related to the results of the bivariate test using the Chi-square test, which is 0.00. It can increase their knowledge about diabetic wound care so that they can increase awareness for treating diabetic wounds and regularly re-control the hospital so that the healing process can run well and not cause complications that end in amputation.
