Abstract

The advancement of digitalization and automation has accelerated production processes, but often overlooks human factors, thereby increasing ergonomic risks such as musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among production workers. This study was conducted at a technology industry company in Cakung, East Jakarta, focusing on production workers identified as having MSDs risks through direct observation. The novelty of this research lies in the use of four methods in analyzing work activities to determine the dominant risk factors through the selection of the highest scores, compared to other studies that tend to use one to two methods for analysis. The objective of this research is to determine the highest risk level from four types of work activities using four methods. Data collection methods include observation, the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire, and photograph documentation of work activities. Data analysis utilized Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), Workplace Ergonomic Risk Assessment (WERA), and Ovako Working Posture Analysis System (OWAS). The questionnaire results indicate the highest complaints with very strong pain in the back (14%), waist (13%), buttocks (8%), lower neck (7%), right upper arm (6%), right wrist (6%), and left thigh (6%). The work activity analysis yielded risk scores: lifting product (REBA 9, WERA 34, OWAS 3), assembly (REBA 5, WERA 36, OWAS 1), labeling (REBA 4, WERA 33, OWAS 2), and final packing (REBA 10, WERA 45, OWAS 2). The conclusion in this study is that the work activities of lifting products and final packing pose the highest ergonomic risks and require immediate intervention to prevent ongoing musculoskeletal disorders.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the influence of Human Resource Research and Development (HR R&D) on the performance of building management at Menara Kanaya, Nuansa Cilangkap, using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach and Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected from 215 respondents consisting of building managers, operational staff, and residents through questionnaires, field observations, and short interviews. The BSC assessment shows that the overall management performance is at a moderately good level, with the highest score in the Learning and Growth perspective (3.4), followed by Customer (3.0), Internal Process (2.9), and Financial (2.8). SEM-PLS analysis indicates that HR R&D has a significant positive effect on the Financial perspective (β = 0.896; p = 0.000) and Internal Process perspective (β = 0.479; p = 0.000), but does not significantly influence the Customer perspective. These findings highlight that training and development enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, yet the improvements are not directly perceived by residents. Overall, the study confirms that HR development plays a strategic role in improving building management performance and that the Balanced Scorecard serves as an effective framework for evaluating organizational performance in public service facilities.

Abstract

The trend toward increased pet ownership is driving demand for supporting products such as pet bags that are not only functional but also comfortable. Pawfect Organizer Bag is a pet bag product for small breeds of dogs and cats. In an effort to assess the behavior of pet owners, research waas conducted on their purchasing preferences for pet bags. The research aims to analyze the influence of product comfort features and price on consumer purchasing interest in pet bags. The method used a quantitative approach through the distribution of questionnaires to 50 respondents who are pet owners. The data underwent validity and reliability testing, F-tests, and T-tests to determine the significance between variables. The results of testing and data analysis showed that all research instruments were valid and reliable. The F test yielded a Sig value of 0.00 for comfort features and price, indicating that both variables simultaneously had a significant effect on purchase interest. The T test yielded a Sig value of 0.003 for price and a Sig value of 0.035 for comfort features. This indicates that both variables contribute partially to increasing consumer purchase interest, with the price variable being the dominant factor. Based on the test results, there are suggestions that Pawfect Organizer Bag manufacturers can implement to increase consumer purchase interest, namely by optimizing product comfort features and creating pricing strategies.

Abstract

The Industry 4.0 era demands a transformation of machine maintenance systems from reactive to predictive to maintain production efficiency. This research focuses on Flexographic Printing machines in the packaging industry, which are experiencing low performance with an average Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value of only 49.78%, far below global standards. The objective of this research is to enhance maintenance effectiveness through the development of a Smart Maintenance framework named "FlexoTwin". The research methodology integrates quality diagnostic approaches (Fishbone Diagram & FMEA) with Digital Twin technology. The initial diagnostic stage focused on comprehensive risk mitigation, not only based on the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) in the Feeder unit (336) but also prioritizing the handling of failure modes with critical Severity levels across all machine components. These findings served as the basis for developing a Machine Learning (Random Forest) model integrated into a web-based dashboard. Test results show that the model is capable of predicting maintenance duration with high accuracy ( =0.83). Furthermore, optimization simulations established a machine health threshold at the 40% level as the trigger point for automatic warnings (Auto-Prediction Trigger). The implementation of "FlexoTwin" has proven capable of providing real-time condition visualization and data-driven recommendations, enabling a transition to a more precise and efficient maintenance strategy compared to manual methods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the motorcycle parking service at Untar Campus 1 using the Lean Six Sigma method with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach. The main problems identified included the high frequency of tap-out errors, such as unreadable cards, slow reader performance, and delayed staff responses, which caused long queues and reduced user satisfaction. The research was conducted through field observations, questionnaires distributed to 60 respondents, and data collection using Time Observation Sheets (TOS) and Check Sheets. The results showed that the “unreadable card” error was the dominant issue, accounting for 66.67% of total incidents. The average staff response time was 137.6 seconds, while the average machine repair time was 58.5 seconds. Pareto and 5 Why’s analysis revealed that the main root cause was the lack of preventive maintenance on reader sensors and the absence of consistent maintenance SOPs. Improvement proposals were implemented through the application of Poka-Yoke, 5S, and Kaizen Event to improve process efficiency, reduce human error, and accelerate error handling. The study concludes that the implementation of Lean Six Sigma was able to improve parking service effectiveness and service quality for users.

Abstract

The current state of the manufacturing industry demands that businesses continuously optimize their production processes. In reality, many activities still do not contribute to product added value, potentially leading to various forms of inefficiency. This situation has a negative impact in the form of increased production costs, decreased productivity levels, and extended duration required to complete the production process. The purpose of this study was to detect the categories of waste occurring in the candle production process and to design recommendations for improvements that can be implemented by the company. The study was conducted using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) as a tool for mapping material flows, Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) to measure the extent to which process efficiency has been achieved, and the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) to determine the dominant waste categories. The research findings indicate that defects are the most common type of waste. The main triggers are unstable temperature settings, inconsistent raw material quantities, and incorrect wick installation. Based on the results of the investigation using the 5 Whys analysis and the 5W+1H approach, the implementation of the 5S and the Kanban system is recommended as concrete steps to reduce waste and encourage increased operational efficiency and product quality.
