Abstract

The poultry industry in Indonesia, especially the poultry sector, plays a crucial role in ensuring national food security by providing essential animal protein sources. Therefore, business agility is highly necessary to address fluctuating demand issues that can change unpredictably. Many industries in this sector have faced setbacks due to unforeseen shifts in demand. However, in implementing business agility, numerous factors need consideration, such as traditional organizational structures, bureaucratic processes that impede change, and a corporate culture resistant to transformation. This research aims to identify various challenges faced by companies in achieving business agility through a literature review using Publish or Perish software and manual searches on Google Scholar, resulting in the selection and analysis of 23 relevant journals. The findings from the literature review indicate that effective supply chain management, innovative management leadership, technological automation, adaptability to unforeseen events, investment in employee development, and a deep understanding of customer needs are key factors influencing business agility in the poultry industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

Warehouse plays a crucial role in the supply chain by linking material flows between suppliers and customers, and also matching demand with product availability. Operational disruptions in warehouse can lead to decreased customer satisfaction, necessitating effective and efficient warehouse operations. Lean principles, including lean warehousing, are often used to achieve this. Additionally, increasing supply chain complexity makes companies vulnerable to costly errors, leading to broader adoption of industry 4.0 technologies. Various studies have begun integrating industry 4.0 technologies into lean warehousing practices. However, literature reviews on integrating industry 4.0 with lean principles tend to focus on manufacturing area. This study aims to review researches on the application of industry 4.0 technologies in lean warehousing through a literature review. The findings of the literature review indicate that autonomous robots, simulation, horizontal and vertical system integration, and the industrial internet of things are industry 4.0 pillars that are widely applied alongside lean warehousing methodologies and tools. Most studies analyze overall warehouse processes, while others focus on specific processes within the warehouse. Overall, the use of industry 4.0 technologies in lean warehousing leads to significant positive impacts, including increased efficiency and productivity. Further studies are needed to understand how lean warehousing can serve as a foundation for implementing industry 4.0 technologies and to address the issues and challenges in their concurrent application.

Abstract

CV. Jaya Logam faced various operational challenges caused by ineffective sales and raw material inventory recording systems, leading to production delays, errors in information delivery, and difficulties in monitoring and decision-making. This research was conducted to address these issues through system needs analysis, design, and testing of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system using Odoo software. The methodological process involved a detailed analysis of system requirements, system design using Unified Modelling Language (UML) diagrams to visualize the system architecture, and system testing using the Black Box Testing method to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the designed system. The testing results showed that the developed ERP system successfully met all 12 test class parameters, indicating that the system is valid and can be implemented effectively. The implementation of this ERP system at CV. Jaya Logam resulted in significant improvements in operational efficiency and data accuracy, better business process integration, and the provision of real-time information that supports faster and more accurate decision-making processes.

Abstract

The installation of the ST-1812 storage tank aims to improve production efficiency at PT. MSM by saving costs in the use of steam from 16 hours to only 4 hours, which is used to heat the final product to temperature of 63°C according to work instructions. Critical Path Method is used to determine the optimal construction time, because this method can identify the sequence of tasks that are most critical or that have the most impact on the duration of the entire project. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal duration for implementation and completion of the ST-1812 storage tank installation project at PT MSM. The analysis of the CPM application showed that the project took 90 days to complete, with 19 activities included in the critical path. The addition of working hours (overtime) on activities on the critical path makes the project can be completed in 73 days, 17 days faster than the initial duration of the project. The initial cost of the project was IDR 66,555,000, and the cost after accelerating the project with crashing calculations was IDR 74,886,429, with a cost slope of IDR 8,331,429.

Abstract

Poor facility layout is a waste that must be minimized. The layout of MSME Konveksi ABC was studied to reduce OMH (Material Handling Cost) expenses. The messy arrangement of production layouts causes less optimization of the flow of the production process, the occurrence of queues when entering and exiting the production floor, and waste of movement time. This research uses the activity relationship chart (ARC) and activity relationship diagram (ARD) methods to help design efficient and effective layouts by paying attention to the sequence and relationship between production activities. The data used is primary data from conducting interviews with MSME owners. The results of the interview show the need for proposed layout changes with the consideration that each absolute activity needs to be brought closer to its production location, the entry and exit points of the production process are designed separately so that there are no accumulations or obstacles if there are employees who want to enter and will leave simultaneously. The results of the proposed layout show the difference in OMH (Material Handling Costs) between the two existing layouts of Rp 3,341,056.8 so, the proposed layout recommended by researchers to MSME Konveksi ABC provides savings in OMH (Material Handling Costs) expenses and optimizes layouts related to worker effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract

The company's production process produces several wastes and emissions. One aspect is due to the use of energy and materials, which causes environmental problems and decreases the availability of resources. This research will investigate the influence of environmental impacts on production sustainability in furniture companies. The impact assessment produced by OpenLCA software can provide information for companies to make improvements in the production process. The potential environmental impact on furniture companies is obtained based on the impact value produced in the production of Vasari mirrors. The results from the OpenLCA software obtained an Aquatic eutrophication EP(P) impact value of 24,747 Pt, a Human toxicity water impact value of 13,536 Pt and a Radioactive waste impact value of 9,201 Pt. Next, the influence of the three highest potential environmental impacts was analyzed using multiple linear regression. Of several alternative repair efforts, replacing the alkyl paint material with polyester resin, and the cerium oxide material with a wool polishing wheel (organic sheep farm) produces the smallest impact value. The potential environmental impact value after repairs is the Aquatic eutrophication EP(P) value of 24,746 Pt, the Human toxicity water value of 13,534 Pt, and the Radioactive waste value of 9.2 Pt.

Abstract

The electric motorcycle conversion program is an initiative introduced by the Indonesian government aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. This research aims to develop an effective business model for PT. Ekolektrik Konversi Mandiri in converting gasoline-powered motorcycles into electric motorcycles. The research methodology uses a descriptive qualitative approach, including case study analysis, interviews with stakeholders, and evaluation of various relevant business models. The results show that a business model prioritizing strategic partnerships, operational efficiency, and a strong value proposition for consumers can enhance the success and sustainability of the electric motorcycle conversion business. Additionally, the research identifies key challenges such as high conversion costs and limited supporting infrastructure and provides recommendations to address these barriers. With the right business model, electric motorcycle conversion businesses like PT. Ekolektrik Konversi Mandiri are expected to significantly contribute to the Indonesian government's target of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

Abstract

The fluctuation and uncertainty of the food industry market demand causes the company to maintain its productivity to be able to meet existing demand. This is also always pursued by PT XYZ as a food and beverage company. In Pilus production process, in addition to using machinery, there is still a lot of manual handling work done. Workload between jobs that cannot cause work to be completed properly, considering that humans are a factor that affects company productivity. Workload calculations are carried out using the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method to determine the optimal number of workers. From the results of workload calculations on 42 work elements, there are 4 work elements that are overloaded and 38 other work elements are underloaded. After adjusting the workforce composition using the FTE index, it can reduce 4 workers, from 78 workers to 74 workers with a more balanced workload. The results of this study can be used as a consideration in the preparation of labor requirements and are expected to increase the productivity of Pilus production in the company.

Abstract

It was found that there are no support points at PT XYZ's Martabe Site, which led to a problem with customer service levels measured by OTIF (On-Time In-Full). This situation may delay delivery due to the long distance (367 km or 12 hours by land transportation) between Medan and Martabe. Low OTIF rates correspond with the limited availability of parts at PT XYZ. A company's ability to supply demand with its stock is the availability of parts. Consequently, customers purchase from competitors with parts that are ready on-site. This study has designed new support points based on accurate demand forecasting and a project feasibility assessment based on an Internal Rate of Return (IRR). As a result, new support points guaranteed the availability of parts to make the item In-Full and decrease lead time delivery to make the item On-Time. After building a new support point at the Martabe site, sales increased by 74% and contributed to a 44% growth in sales in the Medan area

Abstract

Pallet Delivery Design at PT. XYZ is intended to overcome operator working posture problems in the manual process of tying boxes with ropes, so as to reduce complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in operators. Analysis of MSDs complaints was carried out by distributing the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire to three workers with the results that they experienced complaints of calf, back and knee pain. Based on the results of the Nordic Body Map questionnaire, a Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) analysis was carried out, namely to assess the level of risk. In the initial assessment, REBA produced a score of 9 which indicates a high risk with the use of the tool used. To find out the specifications of the tool to be designed, it is done by measuring the operator's anthropometric data, followed by product design using the Need, Idea, Decision, and Action (NIDA) method as a design approach and the next stage is simulated in CATIA software to confirm risk reduction. The design simulation shows a decrease in the REBA value from 9 to 2, thereby reducing the risk of MSDs for workers.
