Abstract

This study specifically aimed to investigate and determine the relationship between the variable of boredom proneness and phubbing behavior among adolescent subjects. The methodological approach applied in this study utilized a quantitative research design, involving 120 adolescent participants. In the subject selection process, the sampling technique employed was quota sampling, with inclusion criteria specifying participant ages ranging from 15 to 18 years old. Furthermore, the data analysis phase was conducted by applying a non-parametric statistical technique using the Spearman's Rho correlation test; the findings of this study indicated a positive relationship between boredom proneness and phubbing behavior in adolescents. The implications of these results indicated that the higher the level of boredom proneness experienced by adolescents, the higher the intensity of the phubbing behavior exhibited. Conversely, the lower the level of boredom proneness possessed by adolescents, the lower the tendency for phubbing behavior to occur.

Abstract

The growing trend of beauty product use among female college students indicates a shift in purchasing behavior influenced by social factors. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between conformity and consumer behavior in the purchase of beauty products among female students at Mulawarman University. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The number of participants in this study, calculated using G*Power 3.1, was 115 female students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale to measure conformity and consumer behavior. Pearson’s product-moment correlation was then used to analyze the data after testing for normality and linearity. The results of the study indicate a correlation between conformity and consumerist behavior of r = 0.492; p = 0.000, showing that the two variables are positively and significantly correlated. This means that the higher the level of conformity, the greater the tendency toward consumerist behavior, so that purchasing decisions are not entirely based on need. This study is expected to provide insight into the influence of the social environment on the consumption behavior of female students at Mulawarman University regarding the purchase of beauty products.

Abstract

Slow learning is a condition in which students have a below-average learning rate, necessitating a specialized approach to the learning process. This study aims to review various learning interventions used to enhance the academic abilities of students with learning difficulties. The method used was a systematic literature review of 12 relevant articles to explore how various forms of learning interventions enhance the academic abilities of slow learners. The study results indicate that the most effective interventions include mentoring with a special guidance teacher, constructivist learning models, practice methods, repeated reading techniques and cloze procedures, and token economy strategies. These interventions can significantly enhance numeracy skills, early literacy, learning motivation, and social interaction in slow learners. However, several studies also highlight the lack of teacher training and the use of individualized education programs as ongoing challenges. The success of interventions depends heavily on the involvement of teachers, parents, and a supportive school environment. Therefore, integrated and adaptive learning strategies are essential to optimally support the development of slow learners' academic abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the relationship between user satisfaction with artificial intelligence (AI)-based recommendation systems and repurchase intention on e-commerce platforms. As competition in the digital commerce sector intensifies, understanding how AI-driven personalization shapes consumer loyalty has become increasingly critical. This study employed a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology, in which an initial search using keywords “AI recommendation”,” customer satisfaction”, and “repurchase intention” on the Scopus database yielded 400 documents published between 2020 and 2025. Following a multi-stage screening process including removal of non-eligible document types, evaluation of title and abstract relevance, and full-text accessibility checks, 40 articles were ultimately included for analysis. Findings consistently demonstrate that customer satisfaction functions as the dominant mediating variable between AI recommendation quality and repurchase intention. Personalized recommendation systems reduce users' information overload, while AI-powered chatbots with empathetic and proactive strategies further enhance satisfaction. The effectiveness of AI recommendations in driving repurchase intention is contextual and moderated by demographic factors such as gender, age, and digital literacy. These findings extend existing consumer behavior theory by integrating user experience as a critical dimension in assessing AI system effectiveness on e-commerce platforms.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-confidence and public speaking anxiety among students of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Medan Area. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research population consisted of 354 active students, with a sample of 102 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of a 24-item self-confidence scale and a 20-item public speaking anxiety scale, both using a five-point Likert scale model. The instruments underwent adaptation procedures, content validity assessment, and reliability testing, resulting in Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients of 0.87 for the self-confidence scale and 0.89 for the public speaking anxiety scale. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS through descriptive statistics, normality testing, linearity testing, and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The findings revealed a significant negative relationship between self-confidence and public speaking anxiety, with a correlation coefficient of r = -0.71 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination of 0.51 indicated that self-confidence contributed 51% to the variance in public speaking anxiety. These findings suggest that students with higher levels of self-confidence tend to experience lower levels of public speaking anxiety. However, because this study employed a correlational design, the findings cannot be interpreted as evidence of a causal relationship.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology and e-commerce has increased the ease of online shopping activities, but it has also contributed to the rise of consumptive behavior, particularly among university students with high levels of technology use. This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-control and online shopping consumptive behavior among female students living in the dormitory of Universitas Medan Area. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population consisted of dormitory students, with a sample of 67 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using psychological scales, namely a self-control scale and an online shopping consumptive behavior scale, both constructed using a Likert scale format. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between self-control and online shopping consumptive behavior (r = -0.54; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that higher levels of self-control are associated with lower tendencies toward consumptive online shopping behavior. Conversely, students with lower self-control are more likely to engage in consumptive behavior in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology provides students with ease in accessing information and interacting through social media. However, technology use that is not accompanied by self-control and the internalization of religious values may lead to deviant online behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-control and religiosity and deviant online behavior among students from the perspective of Islamic education. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants were 53 students of SMAN 1 Tewah selected using purposive sampling based on the criteria of actively using social media, being 16-17 years old, and being willing to participate. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire distributed through Google Forms. The instrument was examined through validity testing and Cronbach's Alpha reliability testing, while the data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and Spearman's rho correlation test because not all variables were normally distributed. The validity test showed that 13 of 15 items were valid, while the reliability test showed Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.657 for self-control, 0.685 for religiosity, and 0.780 for deviant online behavior. The correlation test showed a significant relationship among self-control, religiosity, and deviant online behavior (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The correlation coefficients indicated strong relationships between self-control and religiosity (r = 0.603), self-control and deviant online behavior (r = 0.648), and religiosity and deviant online behavior (r = 0.714). These findings indicate that self-control and religiosity are internal factors related to students' behavior in digital spaces. Therefore, strengthening religious values and developing self-control through Islamic Religious Education should be emphasized to foster wiser and more responsible digital behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of peers on students' academic achievement from an educational psychology perspective using a qualitative, descriptive phenomenological approach. The study was conducted at the State Islamic University of Palangka Raya with active student participants selected purposively based on high, medium, and low academic achievement categories. The selection of participants was carried out to obtain a variety of experiences regarding the influence of peer interactions on the learning process in the university environment. Data were collected through an initial questionnaire and in-depth interviews to explore students' experiences, perceptions, and the dynamics of social relationships within academic friendship groups. Data validity was carried out through source triangulation, technical triangulation, and member checking. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that peers have a significant influence on students' academic achievement. Positive influences are seen through academic support, increased learning motivation, information exchange, and learning behavior modeling that helps students understand lecture material and increase learning engagement. Interactions in small groups or circle study groups also encourage self-confidence and academic cooperation. However, this study found negative influences in the form of learning distractions, procrastination, imbalanced contributions within groups, and social pressure that can reduce students' focus on learning. These findings indicate that the role of peers is dynamic and contextual, necessitating appropriate management of social interactions through academic mentoring and peer mentoring programs to optimize the positive impact on student academic achievement.

Abstract

Mental health in children is a critical issue that requires specialized attention, particularly during the preschool years. This study investigates the negative impact of maternal authoritarian parenting on the social-emotional development of preschoolers, specifically examining the mediating role of emotion regulation and the moderating effects of father-child and teacher-child relationships. Involving 412 preschoolers from kindergartens in Purwokerto, along with their parents and teachers, the research utilized a longitudinal design with a six-month interval. Data were analyzed using Polynomial Curved Surface Fitting (PCSF) to validate a double moderative mediation model. The results indicate that maternal authoritarian parenting significantly reduces children’s emotion regulation (β = -.211, p < .001), which in turn correlates with mental health issues (r = -.175, p < .01). However, positive relationships with fathers (β = .163, p < .05) and teachers (β = .145, p < .001) act as synergistic protective factors that buffer these adverse effects. These findings offer strategic implications for educational interventions and policies aimed at safeguarding early childhood psychological well-being.

Abstract

The current global workforce transition is dominated by Generation Z, who place a high value on transparency and ethical values in the workplace. This study aims to map the impact of organizational justice on the organizational behavior of Generation Z employees to address the limitations of systematic reviews in recent years. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA protocol through an analysis of 16 empirical articles published between 2021 and 2026. The results of the review indicate that organizational justice is a driver of innovative work behavior, affective commitment, and increased organizational trust. In general, it was found that the dimensions of interpersonal justice and procedural transparency have a greater influence than material compensation for Generation Z. Effective organizational justice has been shown to suppress the phenomenon of quiet quitting and reduce the resignation rate (turnover). These findings provide value for human resource management in designing fair and transparent policies to increase employee engagement and long-term organizational stability.
