Abstract

The crucial role of the banking sector is as an intermediary to give loans or lending to boost a country's economy. Along with advances in technology and digital transformation, lending has become increasingly easier. However, this condition allows for whatever loan growth to affect bank risk or performance. This research investigates the influence of loan growth on risk and bank performance in Indonesia between 2018-2022. The sample for this study consists of all conventional banks in Indonesia. There were 150 data observations from 30 banks in Indonesia. The analysis results indicate that loan growth significantly affects NPL negatively, meaning that loan growth leads to a decrease in NPL. Stringent loan filtering processes, efficient bank risk management programs, and good inspection and supervision can limit the bank's risks associated with loan expansion. Additionally, loan growth negatively and significantly impacts bank performance, especially profitability, indicating that ROA and ROE decline in banks experiencing loan growth. The banking sector needs to be extremely cautious in its loan growth, which can threaten its performance. Moreover, banks should consider maintaining the bank's equity adequacy ratio alongside active loan growth.

Abstract

The coffee business or coffee shop is a sector that is growing rapidly. Coffee shops have evolved into more comfortable and modern places, caused by changes in people's lifestyles and behavior in consuming products and services. This situation also brings tight competition in the coffee shop business, where they must make several efforts to keep their brand selected. Some actions are maximizing social media promotion channels, word of mouth (WOM), and increasing service quality, which are expected to increase trust so that consumer repurchase intention can increase indirectly. This research aims to determine the influence of social media promotion, WOM, and service quality on consumer repurchase intention, both directly and through trust mediation. They are using a population of coffee shop consumers in Surakarta. We take a sample of 200 respondents. This number was obtained from an online survey via the Google Forms platform. The questionnaire results were analyzed using the partial least squares method with the SmartPLS 3.0 software application. The research results reveal that social media promotion, WOM, and quality service directly impact repurchase intention. Meanwhile, indirectly, namely through the mediation of trust, only WOM and quality service significantly affect consumers' intention to repurchase. These results imply that when deciding to repurchase, consumers look at the quality of the product they purchased and pay attention to other things. Therefore, managers or owners need to pay more attention to these details.

Abstract

The M2 money supply over the last five years has tended to increase by 10-12%, which is allegedly due to macro factors, namely, low savings interest and increasing exchange rate requirements, causing rising inflation rates. This research aims to determine the influence of savings interest and the exchange rate on the money supply in Indonesia for the 2004-2023 period. The analysis technique used in this research is linear regression with annual time series data of 20 observation units. This simultaneous model has never been studied by previous researchers. The results of this research analysis provide information that every change in savings interest negatively affects the M2 Money supply by 78.60% and a significant, positive effect between the Exchange Rate and Money in circulation by 78.40%. Meanwhile, simultaneous changes in savings interest and exchange rates have a significant effect on changes in money supply in Indonesia and the influence is substantial at 91.20%. Therefore, the conclusion of this research is, that partially and simultaneously the proposed model exhibits a significant influence between savings interest and the exchange rate on the amount of money circulating in Indonesia. Therefore, it is crucial to pay attention to the current macroeconomic conditions concerning these two factors, especially the stability of the exchange rate, to ensure that it does not increase the money supply and inflation which may reduce people’s purchasing power in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of corporate social responsibility on the company's financial performance during periods of financial instability. The sample of this study is manufacturing companies in the basic and chemical industries listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2014-2022 period. This study uses secondary data from the company's financial statements and annual reports. The test results show that during the period of financial instability, the relationship of corporate social responsibility to the company's financial performance weakens. This study proves that financial instability moderates the relationship between CSR and corporate financial performance. The results of this study show a linear and non-linear pattern in the relationship between CSR and financial performance during periods of financial instability. These findings emphasize the importance of managing CSR portfolios and prudence in resource allocation during periods of financial instability.

Abstract

The issue of income inequality between people in the world and Indonesia is still interesting to discuss. Moreover, it is the tenth target in the sustainable development goals until 2030, namely reducing inequality within and between countries. Several targets have also been set, including ensuring equal opportunities and reducing income inequality. The relationship between entrepreneurship, technology, and inequality is studied theoretically and empirically, but empirically there are still not many studies that discuss the relationship between these two variables on income inequality in Indonesia. The research objectives include analyzing the influence of entrepreneurship and technology on income inequality in Indonesia. The data used are from 34 provinces in Indonesia during the period 2013-2020. The data was processed using E-views software. To produce the best model, it will be tested statistically and with classical assumptions. The results showed that entrepreneurship and technology had a significant negative effect on the income inequality variable. Therefore, one solution to overcome income inequality in Indonesia is for the Indonesian government can increase the percentage of individuals or households that can access the Internet.

Abstract

The results regarding the relationship between environmental performance and company performance are still inconclusive. This condition is because there is still confusion regarding what influences this relationship. This study examines the role of board governance (board size, independent board, and gender diversity), which corporate decisions are highly dependent on their governance. The sample used in this study covers 117 companies in Indonesia from 2015 to 2023, using panel data regression analysis. The results obtained from this study indicate that companies in Indonesia negatively influence environmental performance and company performance. Furthermore, we found that independent board and gender diversity moderate this relationship. This evidence can be attributed to the role of board governance in producing strategic decisions in its activities. Evidence of this moderating role significantly contributes to environmental and corporate performance literature. Finally, this study offers knowledge to policymakers and practitioners regarding the importance of the role of corporate boards in monitoring the performance of their company's management to make good business decisions.

Abstract

At the forefront of this digital revolution stands the omnipresent website, a virtual gateway that transcends geographical boundaries, providing us unparalleled access to information and services from anywhere on the globe. In this increasingly interconnected world, websites have become the digital storefronts and first impressions of entities, be they businesses, organizations, or individuals. Consequently, people often make swift and decisive judgments about an agency based solely on its online presence's user experience and interface design. Given how quickly the internet is developing, the online quality of an academic university website is essential to student satisfaction. This study explores the intricate relationship between student satisfaction and academic university website quality (usability quality, information quality, service interaction quality, and user satisfaction). It provides a detailed analysis of the student experience. We use multiple regression with a sample size of 104 student respondents. This study uses factual data and student input to analyze significant areas of academic university websites. The results show that user satisfaction with website quality is positively significant to user satisfaction. Repetitive interactions are more common on websites that excel in usability, accessibility, and responsiveness. We hope this research can help developers to improve academic university websites.

Abstract

In 2024, West Java Province aims to boost foreign investment to 250 trillion rupiah, maintaining its leading position in investment realization. This research examines factors influencing foreign investment in West Java, including SMEs (Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah-UMKM), expenditure per capita, flood, waste, productive land, and unemployment. Prior strategies focused on direct engagement with foreign investors but neglected other critical determinants. This study investigates key sectors and economic indicators to provide a comprehensive analysis. The data used in this paper is a balanced panel of 27 residences and cities in West Java with an annual period from 2018 to 2022. We choose REM as the best model using panel data tests, including Chow, Hausman, and BPLM. This paper found that SMES, expenditure, productive land, and unemployment significantly positively affect the predictor. On the other hand, how floods and waste are handled has an insignificant effect on the predictor.
