As a mass communication media, film can make an impact to the audience such as psychological and social impacts. Green Book is a biographical film with the genre of comedy-drama, and directed by Peter Farrelly. This film tells the relationship of mutualism between talented black pianist Dr.Donald Shirley with his driver as well as bodyguard named Tony Vallelonga. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with the Stuart Hall reception analysis approach. Reception analysis considers the audience can be a culture agent that means capable of producing meaning from the various discourses offered by a media. The purpose of this study is to determine the position of the audience according to Stuart Hall's three reading positions in interpreting racism in the green book film. The three positions are dominant hegemony position, negotiation position, and opposition position. This research shows that the reading of the audience towards racism in the Green Book film is interpreted differently. Of the eight scenes selected, the informant's reading position is dominated by the opposition's position. But in some scenes, there are also informants who are in a negotiating position and few who are in a dominant hegemony position.

AbstractPemerintah dan DPRD Aceh tengah menyusun Qanun Hukum Keluarga yang nantinya akan disahkan dan berlaku di Aceh. Salah satu isi bab dalam Qanun tersebut adalah melegalkan poligami. Wacana tersebut menarik perhatian khalayak ramai setelah Harian Serambi Indonesia mempublikasikannya sebagai berita headline pada edisi 6 Juli 2019. Suara perempuan memang sangat penting dalam menyikapi Qanun ini. Mengingat perencangan qanun tersebut berlandaskan atas memberikan perlindungan untuk perempuan. Selain itu atas nama keadilan, suara perempuan Aceh seharusnya didengar dengan seksama. Hal yang ditakutkan adalah sistem partiarki yang masih berlaku di negara ini. Sistem patriarki yang mendominasi kebudayaan mendorong terbentuknya kesenjangan dan ketidakadilan gender dimana memposisikan perempuan sebagai subordinat sedangkan posisi laki-laki yang memegang kontrol yang lebih besar. Hal ini yang menjadikan suara perempuan lemah dalam masyarakat dan keluarganya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali lebih dalam mengenai persepsi perempuan mengenai berita wacana pelegalan poligami di Aceh dengan menggunakan pendekatan konsep Persepsi dan Teori Spiral of Silence. Penelitian ini nantinya akan menggunakan metode campuran dengan menyebar kuisioner dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keberagaman persepsi dari kalangan perempuan dalam menanggapi wacana pelegalan poligami.

Industri perhotelan kini mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan. Salah satu hotel yang berdiri tahun 2017, berkonsep “eco friendly hotel” adalah Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang. Peneliti menganalisa “Peran Public Relations dalam Membentuk Citra Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang melalui Kampanye “We Act”” menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan wawancara. Data dilengkapi dengan data sekunder dari penelitian sebelumnya, arsip, serta berita terkait dengan topik penelitian. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peran public relations dalam membentuk citra Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang di mata para tamu melalui Kampanye Public Relations “We Act”. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan teori peran public relations oleh Ruslan, dengan menghasilkan peran sebagai communicator, membina relationship, sebagai backup management, sebagai corporate image. Hambatan yang ditemukan peran public relations yaitu kurangnya intensitas terhadap publik internal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa public relations memiliki peran penting dan sudah menjalani perannya sesuai dengan teori yang digunakan untuk membentuk citra Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang.

Journalists are members of the press who play an important role in the delivery of information to the public. The important role of journalists will of course be greatly influenced by their idealistic attitudes to maintain a mindset that they think is right about the media work they do. The purpose of this study was to determine the concept of journalist idealism in the context of mass media independence. This study uses a qualitative method with a methodological approach and study approach. The informants in this study were journalists and informants related to the mass media. The results showed that technological developments and changing political conditions had a new influence on the social life of journalists themselves, especially in promoting a strong attitude of professionalism. The determination of principles by prioritizing journalistic ethics and unchanging idealism presents challenges for journalists. The mass media that moves by prioritizing the market mechanism or media capitalism will give a negative stigma to the journey of the mass media. Therefore, the mass media and journalists must be able to control themselves and the institutions so that they can run a press institution without any element of interest from certain parties.

Sail to Indonesia 2019 in Bawean Island is a program implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with yacht rally organizer from New Zealand. Sail to Indonesia has the purpose to develop tourism sector, especially maritime tourism in the area that is the path and center of Sail to Indonesia. Sail to Indonesia 2019, Yachters sailed in 10 places in Indonesia for three months, one of that in Bawean Island and Bawean Island became the only place in East Java which was visited by the Yachters. This research uses descriptive qualitative method that aims to analyze and determine the formation of the Sail to Indonesia 2019 image on Bawean Island as an effort to increase tourist visits. The results of this study concluded that the Department of Tourism & Culture of Gresik in forming the image of Bawean Island not only applied the theory of uniqueness of events according to Getz such as hospitality, symboliysm, authenticity, theming, and festive spirit, but also there is an element of convenience. Department of Tourism & Culture of Gresik did efforts to increasing tourist visits are by using wish images to maximize expectations of Bawean Island so as to provide the best service during activities. In addition, through the current image, tourists will tell all their best experiences and memories while on Bawean Island with word of mouth marketing.

ABSTRACTLove yourself / self love is interpreted as a condition when we can accept and appreciate ourselves, accept the advantages and disadvantages. BTS is a Korean boy band that has garnered international success, and is one of the bands that diligently voiced campaigns for ARMY (BTS fans) about self love through an album titled Love Yourself. The purpose of this study was to study how the ARMY had the meaning of Love Yourself and Mental Health Awareness of BTS songs. The method in this study is a qualitative method that addresses descriptive phenomena. The theory used to support this research is Dialogue Theory by Carl Rogers. In this study, it is used to discuss communication interactions that are formed from the actions and interactions of ARMY fans in interpreting self-love from the Love Yourself album series by BTS.Keywords : Love Yourself, Self-Love, Mental Health Awareness, BTS, Konstruksi Makna, ARMY.

The mixing code language between Bahasa and English as daily conversations in the millennial generation has a massive use nowadays. In this research, the background of that phenomenon will be analyzed by the accommodation communication theory approach. The objective of this research is to observe the accommodation process of this type of communication and how millennials habituate it to any other communications and interactions. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive. The informants will be chosen by using purposive sampling. The data is collected by interviews, direct observations, and documentation. The data analyzing technique in this research will be carried through several steps; data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research result showed that the usage of the mixing code allowed by positive interpretations of English as a modern language than Bahasa. Pride and prestige of social status for its speaker also motivate millennials to speak it. Therefore, a lot of millennials try to fluent in English by mixing it with Bahasa in their daily conversation and try to adjust to those social perspectives. Thus, the process of accommodation of this mixing code communication takes place easier in millennial circles.

Covid 19 cases in Indonesia have been published since early March 2020. These cases have continued to increase significantly, spreading to almost all provinces in Indonesia including Aceh Province. In fact, Aceh province is the province with the highest increase in coronavirus deaths in mid-October. As conditions deteriorate, the government continues to implement policy reforms to suppress the spread of Covid-19, including policies in the education world using online methods. Online learning is an educational innovation that uses elements of information technology as a means of support. This study aims to answer the question, how do online communication and learning at universities in Aceh during the Covid-19 pandemic? The theory used in this research is the theory of technological determinism. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive analytical presentation. The research showed that Aceh universities used many online learning models such as the Zoom application, Google Classroom, WhatsApp and others. This is related to the interest of the application users. Online learning guidelines also have advantages and disadvantages with students and lecturers studying at universities in Aceh.
