Abstract

At present, there is much news of hate speech against ulama circulating in the mass media. Hate speech can have a negative impact on human relationships and between the religious communities developed to date. The purpose of this research is to discuss how the public opinion of Meulaboh presents to the mass media messages containing hate speech directed against ulama. This research used a qualitative approach by collecting data through interviews with 4 people from Meulaboh City and 2 lecturers of KPI STAIN Meulaboh. The results of this study show that having a huge impact on the news in the media for the community, especially the presence of gadgets, allows people to easily access a lot of the latest news. People who still hold strong religious values think the news is inappropriate. The news presented by the media is expected to be neutral and impartial, which can harm other parties.

Abstract

Marketing communication media develops as technology develops. Adaptation and adoption of digital marketing communication media is a challenge for the kelompok UMKM batik jumputan Tahunan Yogyakarta. Tthe purpose of this study is to find out how the process of adoption of digital marketing communication media in kelompok UMKM batik jumputan Tahunan, Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data in this study were obtained through in-depth interviews with parties related to kelompok UMKM batik jumputan Tahunan, Yogyakarta, as well as direct or indirect observations of the digital marketing communication process carried out. The results of this study, it is known that the adoption of digital marketing communication media by kelompok UMKM batik jumputan Tahunan, Yogyakarta are still very low.Keywords: UMKM, adoption of innovation, marketing communication

Abstract

The discourse on the legalization of polygamy that the Aceh Government wishes to set forth in the Family Qanun has become one of the issues that has spread among the community so that it has drawn pros and cons and products. As a special autonomous region that has the authority to carry out Islamic syari'at, of course this is relevant if it is stated in a Qanun, but people's perceptions certainly cannot be ignored. This research was conducted using qualitative methods with secondary data analysis techniques such as literature studies and using the Narative Review scheme. The results showed that although Aceh is an area that practices Islamic Syari’at, if it is in accordance with its wishes regarding domestic life (polygamy) it is not automatically accepted so that the pros and cons cannot be avoided. However, the fact that the practice of polygamy must be regulated in the legal system is important given the many cases of betel marriage which of course are regulated and emphasized the terms and sanctions that polygamy practice will pass.

Abstract

The transmission of Covid-19 in Indonesia has made the government stipulate that all activities must be carried out from home, including studying. During learning from home the children are accompanied by their parents. The togetherness of parents and children while learning from home makes their relationship even closer. Apart from that, there are things that are contradictory in their relationship. Their disagreement with something when studying creates dialectics. By using qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relational dialectic that occurs between parents and children from families in Kampung Tengah Kramat Jati Jakarta Timur during the learning process in the Covid-19 era. The theory used in this research is relational dialectic and family relationship theory. The informants are mothers who have school-age children at primary school level 2-3 who are busy taking care of the house while accompanying their children to study. The results of the study are dialectics due to the inequality of mothers and children in responsibilities, expectations and perceptions. The reality of their relationship is in the form of contradictions because mothers tend to be emotional, and children are disorderly and tend to be spoiled.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to examine how the pros and cons of Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press as a lex specialis from a legal point of view. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a literature review approach, which focuses on discussing the substance of the law and the issues under study in accordance with the relevant literature. The results of the study illustrate that there are pros and cons related to the position of the Law. No.40 of 1999 concerning the press as lex specialis. The pro side illustrates that press activities and various disputes that arise in it when referring to the press law that has been specially formulated is used to solve press problems specifically, so that it is considered a lex specialis. On the other hand, it emphasizes that the press law from various sides does not meet the requirements as a lex specialis because there is no clear legal basis for reference from any parent law.

Abstract

In digital era like now, internet and millennial generation are inseparable, the use of the internet of things adopted into wearable devices such as Applewatch products is very interesting to explore. This article tries to analyze the extent of the use of the internet of things for Applewatch users in Indonesia, especially among millennial generation. This research article uses a meta-analysis method that reveals previous research related to the concept and object of research, which is complemented by observations and interviews with individuals belonging to millennials, namely those born between 1980-2000. The results of 18 previous research articles related to research on the internet of things, wearable devices in the millennial generation, have not found research that focuses on the use of wearable devices in this case Applewatch. The results of interviews with millennial samples of Applewatch users in Indonesia found that the use of Applewatch is primarily as an alternative and complement to smartphones and is used for notification and wearable fast response tools. Applewatch users have not utilized the technology and health features available to the full.

Abstract

The phenomenon of preaching message content on Instagram is currently a process of changing the use of media in conveying religious messages to the public. Where the use of preaching media previously was more manual (pulpit and recitation forums) in a limited context and only carried out by certain people. However, with the development of information and communication technology today, the use of dakwah media is more modern, able to reach more mad'u and can be done by anyone, especially the younger generation. This research wants to answer about how the use of Instagram among students in West Aceh Regency? This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the research data is collected through a process of observation, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews. The results showed, of the 55 respondents studied answered, the use of Instagram is still at the level to show self-existence with personal identity motives. Where uploads on student Instagram accounts in West Aceh are still dominant with personal content. Although they rarely upload da'wah content, some have never even accessed it at all, they often access it on other accounts, accompanied by giving likes on the content. Most of the student Instagram accounts in West Aceh District are linked to other social media accounts, such as Facebook and Twitter. This makes it easy for users to create automatic posts between Instagram and other social media accounts.

Abstract

Most of the people who access the internet are millennial generation, that is, the generation born between 1982 and 2000.  Digitalization forces the mass media in Indonesia to participate in meeting the demands of society's need for up to date information. This study aims to examine the practices of the millennial generation in consuming online news.  In particular, this study aims to reveal the diversity of meanings that arise from the experiences of audiences when consuming online news. This study applies a qualitative approach to the reception method. The comment column provides a reference space for itself to continue consuming the next news activity on the mass media or not. Comments can even be termed as a filter for news that millennial generation will consume. Storytelling as millennial generation's online news consuming experience. From the point of view of millennials storytelling helps facilitate their imagination through visual means.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive research studied the public narratives regarding the caning execution news on Serambinews.com's Facebook fan page. Apart from that, this research also investigated the relationship between Facebook users' discussion against public policy (Sharia law) and the existence of Serambinews.com as the news media. This research used the five most commented news links from January 2018 to December 2020 as the data. This data was analyzed using Thematic Analysis and studied using the concept of Public Opinion. The results showed that the public often discussed four dominant themes, including two topics that exhibited negative nuances, such as proposing extreme punishment and defamation against the convicts. These themes were a reflection of the growing public opinion regarding the caning in Aceh. Negative public opinion had the potential to form a consensus and affected public policy regarding Sharia law. But on the other hand, despite the domination of negative public opinion, the researcher argued that Serambinews.com gained economic benefits from this practice.
