Abstract

Background: Supplementation of vitamin A for postpartum mothers is needed to increase the amount of vitamin A in breast milk. Babies who suck the breast milk that contains enough vitamin A will be more immune and rarely suffered from  infectious diseases.  Purpose: The study aimed to determine the association of vitamin A consumption in postpartum mothers with adequacy of breast milk. Methods: This study is  an analytical survey  with cross-sectional design approach, condected within the work area of Mungkid Community Health Center, Magelang Regency with total sampling. The sample were 40 respondents. The data was retrieved by using a checklist observation sheet. Result: Statistical analysis with Spearman Rank test, obtained   p-value of 0.000 so that 0.05, which means there was a significant relationship between consumption of vitamin A in postpartum mothers with adequate breastfeeding.  Concluslion: Consumption of vitamin A in postpartum  mothers correlated  with breast milk adequacy. Midwives are expected to provide health care and health education, regarding vitamin A for postpartum women, and give 2 capsules of vitamin A to  the mother after delivery. Postpartum mothers are suggested to obtain and consume 2 capsules of vitamin A after giving birth, because the benefits are many, especially with the adequacy of breast milk.

Abstract

Background. Stimulations are important in the golden period (age 0-3). Children who receive directional stimulation will develop more quickly than children who have less or no stimulation.Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the implementation of stimulations by parents and the development of toddlers aged 24-36 months in Bungursari Village.Methods. This research was an observational quantitative research with cross-sectional approach. The populations were mothers and toddlers aged 24-36 months as many as 92 respondents. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, with a total sample of 42 respondents.Results. The results showed that the largest percentage in the implementation of gross motor stimulation, fine motor skills, speech and language skills, social skills and independence by parents were in the frequent category, the largest percentage of toddler development aged 24-36 months according to the appropriate category. Spearman rank statistical test results obtained rho value of 0.417 with p value of 0.006, where p value was less than α (0.006 0.05), this showed that there was a positive relationship between the implementation of stimulations by parents on the development of toddler.Conclusion. There was a relationship between the implementation of stimulations by parents and the development of the toddlers. It is suggested to involve parents in conducting stimulation and development screening in order to improve their growth and development.

Abstract

Background: During pregnancy, most women experience psychological and emotional changes, it often comes up in the third trimester. Anxiety itself will have a negative impact on pregnant women to delivery, such as the fetal nervous and hindering growth, weakens the uterine muscle contraction, and others. One way to overcome anxiety in pregnancy with non-farmokologi method is prenatal massage.Methods: The study design used was pre-experimental research design with one group pretest posttest. Sampling in this research using purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 30 people. Pretest and posttest data retrieval using a measuring instrument HARS Scale (Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety). The data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate using Spearman Correlation Test.Result: Obtained results correlation value 0.769, it shows that the correlation is very strong with 0,000 ρvalue (ρvalue 0.05).Conclusion: Thus prenatal massage was effective to reduced the anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women

Abstract

Background: The estimated accuracy of birth weight is a key element in early labor. The accurate fetal weight prediction method is an act of preventive to overcome the complications that are expected to reduce morbidity and mortality in childbirth. Purpose: To determine the comparison of the estimated accuracy fetal weight between the Johnson Toshach formula and Dare formula against the baby's birth weight. Method: This study is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional in Labour Room and Perinatology of Dr.Soekardjo hospitals in January and February 2019. The sample in this study using purposive sampling totally 96 respondents. Data analysis was performed by univariate and bivariate using paired t-test, independent t-test. Results: There is no difference in fetal weight estimation between Johnson Toshach formula and Dare formula with the birth weight (ρ value> 0.1). The results of the diagnostic test for Johnson Toshach formula provides the accuracy (87.5%) and the Dare formula (91.7%). Conclusion:Dare formula is more accurate in determining the estimated fetal weight compared to Johnson Toshach formula.

Abstract

Background: The growth and development of children are two events that are different in nature but are related to one another. It is possible for people in downtown areas to experience easy internet access, so that everything cannot be separated from digital media. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic like today, where children have to stay at home more, besides that learning is also done from home, so the screen time has increased. The goals of the research is to analyze the relationship between screen time among children with nutritional status and their development.Methods: The research design used cross sectional analysis. The population is all children aged 3-5 years in Kalumpang Village in November 2020 as many as 497 children, the number of samples is 84 children using purposive sampling technique.Results: Based on the spearman-rank statistical test, it is known that p-value = 0.002 (p-value α), which with the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.330 that the relationship between Screen time with nutritional status is in the low category and has a positive relationship direction, namely the higher the screen time, the higher the nutritional status. Meanwhile, based on the spearman-rank statistical test, it is known that p-value = 0.001 (p-value α), with the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.371 that the relationship between Screen time with development is in the low category and has a positive relationship direction, namely the higher the screen time, the development will deviate from age.Conclusion: There is a relationship between screen time and nutritional status and  there is a relationship between screen time and children development. So it is very important to improve parental control behavior towards the use of electronic devices in children aged 3-5 years old.

Abstract

Background: The future of a nation depends on the success of children in achieving optimal growth and development. Good and sufficient nutrition, good health status, proper parenting, and proper stimulation will help children to develop optimally. Efforts to stimulate children's development, including by doing gymnastics in infancy. Proper stimulation will stimulate the brain so that the development of movement, speech and language, social and independence abilities takes place optimally according to age. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of baby gymnastics on the development of infants aged 6-9 months in the Panglayungan Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City..Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method and pre-post test only group design.The number of samples was 19 people. Each respondent was screened for development before and after being given baby gymnastics treatment for 1 month.Results:The description of the development of infants aged 6-9 months in the work area of the Panglayungan Health Center, Tasikmalaya City before stimulation with baby gymnastics had an appropriate development of 73.7% and 26.3% doubtful. After stimulation with baby gymnastics, 100% of babies reach development according to their age, showed by the p value 0,000.Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an effect of baby gymnastics on the development of infants aged 6-9 months

Abstract

Background: Breast swelling or engorgement breast is the blocking up of breast milk because of the narrowing of the lactiferous duct or glands that are not emptied completely and the percentage incidence of it to postpartum women is 72%-85%. Breast swelling that is not handled properly can cause complications such as obstructions that lead to breast infection that can hinder the realization of exclusive breastfeeding in the future and without adequate treatment, the engorgement with moderate severity can become the obstructions of ducts and breast infections/mastitis. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the moringa leaves and yellow sweet potato noodles for the uterine involution and breast milk production of postpartum women.Methods: This research was conducted in the Tembarak Public Health Center, Temanggung Regency using a quantitative approach with Quasi Experiment method. The design was post test only with control group. The population in this study was postpartum women who gave birth in September and October 2016. The sampling technique used was total sampling.Results: The results of this study showed that there were effects from the consumption of moringa leaves noodles for breast milk production of postpartum women, showed by the p value of 0.034 and there was no effect from the consumption of yellow sweet potato noodles for the uterine involution, showed by the p value of 0.767.Conclusion: The suggestions for professional organizations were to cooperate with the relevant authorities (Health Offices) in disseminating the results of this evidence-based research to help increasing breast milk production by using local food, and also to cooperate in cross-programs and cross-sectors in order to incorporate the use of local food based on the evidence as a procedure in providing health education for postpartum women

Abstract

Background: One of efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality is childbirth assistance by health workers. In reality in the field the community do not fully trust health workers as childbirth helpers, they prefer traditional birth attendance as childbirth helpers. There is still childbirth assistance by non-health workers (traditional birth attendance), therefore the provision of communication, information and education (CIE) must still be provided in various ways including through social media, one of them is Whatsapp. Health counseling through video media has advantages in terms of providing good visualization to facilitate the process of knowledge absorptionMethods: This study is a Quasy Experimental, it use one-group pretest posttest design. Research took place in the working area of Kalumpang Community Health Center, Ternate city. The study sample included 31 pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis using SPSS statistics version 25 with a paired sample t testResults: The results of that study there is an increase in knowledge from pretest to posttest after being given educational intervention through whatsapp video about childbirth, with a p-value  = 0.000. There was an increase in attitude after being given educational intervention through whatsapp video about childbirth (p-value = 0.000).Conclusion: The provision of whatsapp video-based education becomes an alternative and successful in providing health information (preparation for childbirth).

Abstract

Background: Pain has become a separate complaint or disease, not only as a means of protecting the body or a symptom of other diseases. With increasing age, a person will experience a decrease in physiological functions that can affect the system in the body. Diadynamic currents are part of electrecal stimulation which has a low frequency function to reduce pain.Methods:This is an experimental research with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used nonprobability sampling based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data analysis used was non-parametric statistics, namely by using the Wilcoxon signed rank test.Results: Based on the result of the Wilcoxon test showed that the value. Sig. is 0.000, which is less than 0.05. By giving a diadynamic current, the pain felt by someone will be reduced.Conclusion: diadynamic currents can be used to reduce pain

Abstract

Background: According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is 55% in productive age, 15% of them complain of limited activity due to dysmenorrhea. Forms the results of a preliminary study conducted, it's showed that the results of interviews with young women showed that 60% of adolescents experienced dysmenorrhea, 20% sometimes, and 20% did not experience dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is a problem for teenagers in carrying out their daily activities, especially in the learning process.The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of green tea and moringa tea on reducing the level of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescentsMethods: This design of research uses a quasi-experimental approach with a two-group pretest-posttest design approach. The population 40  and  sample 32 respondents with an accidental sampling technique.Results: In this study, it was found that moringa is effective in reducing the pain of dysmenorrhea. With the results of the Mann-Whitney test p-value = 0.031. moringa tea more effective than green teaConclusion: . In this study, it is hoped that adolescents can optimize non-pharmacological therapy by consuming moringa tea to reduce dysmenorrhea
