Abstract

One of the factors that affect the comfort of the learning process at school is students who violate school rules. To maintain school order, it is necessary to give punishment as stipulated in the school's decision. Decision Support System can be implemented as a media to support decision making in giving punishment to problematic students. In general, punishment for problematic students uses a point system according to the type of violation. However, the calculation and management process is still done conventionally which is prone to human error. Engineering punishment is very likely to occur due to the like and dislike factor. This of course causes the school's decision to be wrong. This study aims to make a Decision Support System application to determine the level of punishment for problematic students using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method and the Decision Table. The weighting of violation points is based on three criteria, namely academic violations, aesthetic violations, and ethical violations. The results showed that the calculation of the weighted score of each type of student violation became more precise.

Abstract

Dynamic signature verification by using histogram features is a well-known signature forgery detection technique due to its high performance. However, this technique is often limited to angular histograms derived from vectors containing two adjacent points. We propose additional new features from the X and Y histograms to overcome the limitation.  Our experiments indicate that our technique produced Under Curve Area AUC values 0.80 to detect skilled forgery and 0.91 for random forgery. Our method performed best when the verification system uses 12 of the most dominant features.  This setup produced AUC values of 0.80 to detect skilled forgery and 0.93 for random forgery. These results outperformed the original technique when the X and Y histogram features are not used that produced AUC values of 0.78 to detect skilled forgery and 0.90 for random forgery.

Abstract

The development of wireless communication technology require technology (software and hardware) that can keep up with changing standards. SDR platform is a software-based wireless technology that can keep up with technological developments without changing hardware. WARP is one of SDR platforms developed by American Rice University. This research to determine the performance of the SDR with the QAM technique. The performance system can be seen from BER for different distance between transmitter and receiver and different level QAM. The research was carried in two enviroment (indoor and outdoor) with LOS propagation. The results show that the value of BER 4-QAM in the two enviroment is the smallest than another levels. Thevalue of BER 4-QAM at indoor is 0.0023 and outdoors is 0 for a distance of 6 meters, so the performance of outdoor is better than indoor. SDR performance can be improved using QAM techniques.

Abstract

The 1.5 inch pipe rolling machine utilizes an electric motor to drive the pipe holder and a 2ton jack as a pipe press. Although the roller machine is widely used in conventional workshops by using human power, it causes the pipe rolling time to be long and the machine user gets tired quickly. This is due to lack of resources to think about developing and improving the performance of these machines. Therefore, the focus of this research is the design of a 1.5 inch pipe rolling machine using an electric motor as a drive and a 2 ton jack as a pipe press. This research aims to produce a design and machine for 1.5 inch pipe rolling and to help accelerate the pipe rolling process and reduce worker fatigue. This pipe rolling machine consists of several components, namely, the engine frame, electric motor, gearbox reducer, chain-sprocket, shaft, pipe drive wheel, hydraulic pump and so on. The working process of this machine begins by preparing a 1.5 inch x 3 meter pipe then the pipe is positioned above the drive wheel, lowers the upper pressure wheel to the desired depth with a 2ton jack power, turn on the electric motor and press the button to roll the pipe back and forth and so on. up to pipe roll size as needed. The stages in making this machine are design, detailed drawing, manufacturing process, quality control, assembly and testing, data retrieval and data analysis. The research resulted in drawings of the design and manufacture of the machine, the calculation of the rotational speed of the machine for optimal rolling obtained 20.46 rpm and an average pipe rolling time of 6.80 minutes for one workpiece. This machine can still be optimized by adding a workpiece movement limiter when rolling.

Abstract

The optimal approach to enhance solar panel efficiency and decrease the degradation rate is to lower the temperature range of the surface area. It will be applied by allowing the panels/modules to be cooled and lessening the heat stored in the solar cells through an operation. In the research using experimental methods, the solar panels used have a capacity of 100 WP as a source of micro-power generation, the angle of inclination of the panels is adjusted with variations of 150, 200, and 250. The cooling system uses water, the process of draining water using a submersible pump mounted on a reservoir Water flows to all surfaces of the solar panel and circulates continuously when operating. The experimental outcomes show that the cooling process utilizing water has reduced the temperature operating of the solar panels. The decrease in average temperature occurred in all variations of 23%. The cooling process significantly affects the output power and operational efficiency; circulating cooling can increase the scale of incidents solar radiation on the solar panel due to the refractive effect of the water layer and keep the surface of the solar panel clean from dirt and dust. Output power and operational efficiency have increased in almost all variations in the angle of the solar panel tilt (150, 200, and 250), output power has increased by an average of 22%, and efficiency has increased by on average of 2%

Abstract

Document management for submission of proposals, assessments, and reports on research and service activities at the Research and Community Service Center of the Harapan Bersama Polytechnic is still manually carried out and not computerized. To facilitate the process of implementing, managing research and service management as well as supervising research, service, publication, and evaluation activities, an information system was built using the waterfall method. This system has been created under the name SIMPENDI PHB by involving 9 actors. The result is that the system runs according to the functions of the actors involved. This system was tested with black box and usability. The results of system testing (black box) is that 9 actors involved in this system have been running according to the function of each actor. As for the usability results by involving several actor menus, namely as many as 30 users consisting of 6 managers in related units, 4 users from the assessment team, and the proposer users (lecturers) is a UI/UX score of 86% in the "Very good" category.

Abstract

School is a formal educational institution recognized by the Indonesian State Education Institute, every citizen has the right to get it. In accordance with field interview observations, there is no equal distribution of junior high school locations around sub-districts in Aceh Besar and the distance of school locations from students' residences is very far. The purpose of this study is to analyze geographic information systems (GIS) on the probability of building new school in Aceh district, which are divided in 4 criterias; high, medium, low, and no probability, as well as using school spatial analysis (buffer, overlay and clip) and scoring methods to determine the probability for the location of the new school. The results show 4 criteria for the location probability; there are 11 districts with high probabilities, 21 medium probabilities, 23 low probabilities, and 23 no probabilities in each district.

Abstract

Cilacap is the largest district in Central Java with an area of 225,361 hectares. Topographically, Cilacap Regency is located at an altitude of 1-198 meters above sea level, stretching from west to east. With this condition, Cilacap Regency is an area that is prone to natural disasters such as floods, landslides and earthquakes. The area of Cilacap district along with the many areas prone to natural disasters makes the importance of a geographic information system mapping areas prone to natural disasters. With this system, it is hoped that the community and local governments can take precautionary measures before a natural disaster occurs in their area. The purpose of the research is to design a geographic information system for mapping natural disaster-prone areas for the Cilacap Regency web-based area with End User Development method. This method is used because it is able to produce a system that meets user needs directly. The testing the feasibility study of the system is conducted using the SUS (System Usability Scale) method. The results of this study are a geographic information system for mapping natural disasters and website-based evacuation points with the test results getting an average score of 72. This shows that the system can be implemented properly and is able to show the location of the natural disaster evacuation point areas more quickly as well as it is able to help the community and BPBD Cilacap in anticipating natural disasters.

Abstract

The vehicle's suspension system have function to reduce vibrations from the shock between the wheels and the road. Previous research discussed the simulation of spring loading with material variations. This research focuses on the design and analysis of springs that will be used in Electric Motorbikes (SEMOLI). Spring analysis between cast stainless steels and carbon stainless steels is done by calculating displacement transmissibility. The analytical method used is the SDOF harmonic method to determine the system response. The results of the analysis are considered for the selection of springs by determining the displacement transmissibility and the response of the suspension system. The results of the analysis of the characteristics of cast stainless steels and carbon stainless steels for active springs 6, 7, and 8 at speeds of 10 km/hour, 20 km/hour, 40 km/hour, 80 km/hour showed a decrease in displacement transmissibility. Characteristics for stainless steel material at steady state condition with active spring 6 is 0.3 second, while 7 and 8 are 0.25 second. The characteristics of overshoot for cast stainless steel material with active spring 6 are 55.3%, 7 are 52.7% and 8 are 50.3%. Stainless steel material has the characteristics of overshoot on active spring 6 is 55.8%, active spring 7 is 53.3%, and active spring 8 is 51 From the characteristic analysis, the best material obtained is cast stainless steel with a smaller displacement value dan good respon.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a disease in pregnant women characterized by high blood pressure and positive urine protein. The disease has a high risk of maternal and fetal death, so there is a need for early detection of mothers at risk of preeclampsia. Early online detection of preeclampsia is the best solution during the Covid-19 pandemic by analyzing the influencing factors. The purpose of this study is to build an expert system for early detection of preeclampsia in pregnant women using the Certainty Factor method and the waterfall system development model in order to provide the possibility of pregnant women suffering from preeclampsia. Testing the accuracy of 30 medical record data for pregnant women resulted in a system accuracy level of 90%, while usability testing resulted in a user satisfaction level of 55 with the System Usability Testing (SUS) score criteria being "Poor", therefore improvements are needed on expert system in the future.
