Abstract

This study aims to analyze how educational management develops a local wisdom-based curriculum as a strategy to improve learning quality. This study employs a multi-case qualitative design conducted in three public high schools in Aceh: SMA 1 banda Aceh, SMA 3 Banda Aceh, and SMA 1 Pidie. Data were collected from 20 participants, including school principals, teachers, students, and customary leaders, through semi-structured in-depth interviews, non-participant classroom observations, and analysis of curriculum-related documents such as syllabi, lesson plans, and school program records. Data were analyzed thematically using a systematic coding process involving open, axial, and selective coding to identify patterns across cases and construct conceptual categories. Findings show that local wisdom functions as strategic curriculum capital, strengthening institutional legitimacy, increasing student engagement in learning, and fostering a more solid moral and social identity. The integration of values such as hospitality ethics, collective solidarity, and customary norms not only enriches teaching materials but also builds collaborative governance between schools and communities. The professional transformation of teachers occurs through a shift in their role from material deliverers to designers of culturally based, contextually relevant curricula. This model results in increased learning relevance, active student participation, and community trust in schools. This study formulates a Strategic Cultural Curriculum Management model that positions local wisdom as a form of educational managerial capital. Its contribution broadens the discourse on curriculum management, educational governance, and learning quality in the global context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Mondreng traditional art as a cultural learning resource in local wisdom-based art education. The research was conducted in Dayu Village, Nglegok District, Blitar Regency, East Java, Indonesia, where Mondreng art is actively practiced within the community. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the cultural meanings and educational potential of Mondreng art. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving seven informants consisting of Mondreng performers, art group leaders, cultural figures, art teachers, school principals, local cultural office representatives, and youth participants. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques involving data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that Mondreng art has a structured performance consisting of musical elements, shalawat poetry, and collective performance practices that reflect social, cultural, and spiritual values. Mondreng is not only performed as a form of entertainment but also functions as a medium for cultural transmission through community-based practices. The involvement of the community plays a crucial role in maintaining its sustainability and ensuring intergenerational knowledge transfer. Furthermore, Mondreng art demonstrates strong potential as a contextual learning resource in art education. Its integration into learning enables students to understand artistic practices in relation to their cultural environment while fostering values such as cooperation, religious awareness, and cultural appreciation. This study contributes to the development of ethnopedagogy by positioning local traditional art as a meaningful and relevant source of learning in contemporary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of multicultural values within the Malay customary law tradition through the Simbur Cahaya Law, which has developed within the Malay community of Palembang in South Sumatra. The Simbur Cahaya Law is a customary legal system that serves as a normative guideline for regulating social life and reflects the integration of customary values, social ethics, and religious traditions within the community. This study employs a qualitative approach using a normative-historical analysis of the text of the Simbur Cahaya Law and relevant literature. Data were collected through document studies and literature analysis, then analyzed thematically through a process of data reduction, value categorization, and interpretation of the socio-cultural meanings contained within these customary legal norms. The research findings indicate that the Simbur Cahaya Law contains a number of multicultural values that serve as the foundation of social order in the community, including social justice, communal solidarity, deliberation, respect for diversity, and the balance of relationships between humans, society, and the environment. The novelty of this study lies in mapping the construction of multicultural values within the Simbur Cahaya Law as a social ethical system rooted in local wisdom that plays a role in maintaining social harmony within the Malay community. This study recommends strengthening research on customary law and local wisdom as relevant sources of multicultural values to reinforce social cohesion and the preservation of cultural identity amidst contemporary social dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively describe the principal's role in implementing the 7KAIH program at SMP Salafiyah Pekalongan. 7KAIH is a strategic movement to build Indonesia’s 2045 golden generation through the development of positive character and life skills. The study focuses on how the principal plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates the program to ensure its effective and consistent implementation within the school environment. The 7KAIH program is implemented not only as a routine activity but also as a strategic effort to strengthen character education and build positive habits among students in their daily lives. The theoretical framework of this study is based on the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) management theory proposed by Terry, Fayol, Robbins, and Coulter, as well as theories of educational leadership and character education. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal carries out the planning function by integrating the 7KAIH program into the school's vision, annual program, and school culture. The organizing function is carried out by forming an implementation team and providing a clear division of tasks. The driving function is implemented through providing role models, motivation, and intensive communication with teachers, students, and parents, while the controlling function is carried out through journal-based monitoring and periodic evaluation.
