Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in elementary schools is still predominantly characterized by teacher-centered approaches, which limit students' engagement and learning outcomes. In addition, the learning media currently used are insufficiently contextual and have not integrated local wisdom as a meaningful learning resource. This study aimed to analyze and develop a Bali local wisdom-based interactive e-module that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' learning outcomes. The research subjects consisted of three experts in content, instructional design, and learning media, one elementary school teacher, and fourth-grade students who participated in individual and small-group trials. Data were collected using non-test methods through questionnaires and test methods through pretests and posttests, employing questionnaires and multiple-choice tests as the research instruments. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and inferential analysis techniques to evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed product. The findings indicated that the interactive e-module demonstrated excellent quality, was easy to use, engaging, and capable of creating more active and meaningful learning experiences. Furthermore, the implementation of the e-module effectively improved students' conceptual understanding and learning outcomes. The implications of this study include enriching innovations in local wisdom-based learning media, strengthening the implementation of contextual and student-centered learning, and providing a valuable reference for teachers and researchers in developing effective digital learning media to enhance the quality of both the learning process and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Developing learning media based on Tri Hita Karana in Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) requires an early enculturation process in elementary schools. IPAS education can incorporate local wisdom or local knowledge learned through the elementary education curriculum. The purpose of this study is to analyze the existence of local values and their reconstruction in an effort to internalize IPAS education for every student in the learning process. The internalization of local wisdom and educational values will be applied in IPAS subjects. Data were collected directly from experts through in-depth interviews. This study applied questioning, note-taking, probing, and verification techniques. Experts were asked about themes, subthemes, and authentic sources of Balinese local wisdom or local knowledge that are appropriate to replace existing themes and subthemes in the curriculum. The themes and subthemes were written in descriptive, narrative, and expository forms. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Authentic Balinese local wisdom or knowledge can be used to develop themes and subthemes for students, particularly in IPAS. Local value education can also be implemented through IPAS learning for elementary school children. The natural, social, and cultural values contained in Balinese local wisdom strengthen the universality of truth and morality. IPAS education, integrated with local values through a multidisciplinary approach, can develop the fundamental abilities of children, students, teachers, and lecturers, including perception, intellectual capacity, emotional intelligence, social skills, creativity, and ethics.

Abstract

Low mathematics achievement remains influenced by teachers' limited ability to create active and innovative learning. This highlights the need for learning models supported by interactive media to increase student engagement. This study aimed to examine the differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students who were taught using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model assisted by Articulate Storyline interactive media and those who received conventional instruction. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving fifth-grade elementary school students assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, learning achievement tests, and documentation using observation guidelines, interview guidelines, achievement test instruments, and documentation sheets. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. The findings revealed that students who learned through the STAD cooperative learning model assisted by Articulate Storyline interactive media achieved better mathematics learning outcomes than those who experienced conventional instruction. The findings indicate that integrating cooperative learning with interactive media creates more active learning and improves mathematics achievement. The STAD cooperative learning model supported by Articulate Storyline offers a promising instructional innovation for elementary mathematics education.

Abstract

Learning that integrates local wisdom has not been optimally implemented, resulting in instructional practices that are not yet fully contextualized and do not adequately support students' character development. This condition highlights the need for innovative learning approaches that connect instructional content with the local cultural context. This study aims to analyze the implementation of local wisdom based flash card media in the Merdeka Curriculum and examine its implications for students' learning outcomes. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving elementary school teachers and students as research participants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis using observation sheets, interview guidelines, and document analysis forms as research instruments. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the use of local wisdom-based flash card media creates more contextual learning, enhances students' engagement, facilitates the understanding of science concepts, and supports character development through the integration of local cultural values. The study concludes that local wisdom based flash card media constitute an effective instructional strategy for promoting meaningful and student centered learning. The findings also imply that this instructional media provides an alternative approach for teachers to implement the Merdeka Curriculum by integrating science concept mastery with character development grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

Low IPAS learning outcomes were caused by limited and less contextual learning media that were not integrated with Balinese local wisdom. The use of local culture-based digital media also had not optimally supported interactive learning. This study aimed to analyze the design, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of digital comic media based on Balinese local wisdom to improve elementary students’ IPAS learning outcomes. This research employed the ADDIE Research and Development model. The subjects consisted of 30 students, 4 experts, 3 students in individual trials, and 9 students in small-group trials. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed using descriptive analysis and t-tests. The results showed excellent validity scores ranging from 94.16% to 100%, while the t-test result indicated tcount (54.46) > ttable (2.045). Therefore, the media was feasible, effective, and applicable as interactive, contextual, and culture-based IPAS learning media, supporting meaningful learning experiences for elementary students.

Abstract

The transition toward community-based tourism destination management requires policy implementation that balances cultural preservation, governance effectiveness, and economic sustainability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of an autonomous customary-based management policy following the transition from a government–community partnership model to an independently managed customary governance system. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. The research participants consisted of tourism destination managers, customary leaders, local government representatives, and community members involved in the management process. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the autonomous management policy has been effective in terms of communication, resource availability, and implementers’ disposition, as reflected in improved management performance and substantial revenue generation. However, vulnerabilities remain within the bureaucratic structure due to overlapping authority among customary institutions. The study also reveals that the balance between the sacred and economic functions of the tourism destination has been maintained through the enforcement of customary regulations, spatial zoning based on local cultural principles, and the consistent implementation of religious rituals. These findings imply that an autonomous customary-based management model represents a viable alternative for tourism governance that is adaptive, sustainable, and capable of strengthening collaboration between customary communities and local government.
