Abstract

Maternal health programs in Indonesia are struggling to reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). Even though ANC services have increased, visit coverage has fluctuated. A preliminary study in Sragen Regency highlights the need to explore the relationship between age, education and employment with ANC visits among primigravida. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, education and employment with ANC visits among primigravida pregnant women at the Sragen Community Health Center, Central Java. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted in October 2023 at the Sragen Community Health Center, Sragen Regency with a population of 100 primigravida pregnant women who visited ANC from January to August 2023. The sample collection technique was total sampling so that the research sample was 84 pregnant women. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Analysis of research data using bivariate analysis of the Chi-Square test processed with SPSS version 20. The research results showed that the majority of the 84 primigravida pregnant women studied at the Sragen Community Health Center were aged 20 to 35 years (90.5%), with a bachelor's education level (47.6%), and were not working (66.7%). There is no relationship between age (p-value=0.683), there is a relationship between education level (p-value=0.014), and there is a relationship between employment (p-value=0.040) and ANC visits by primigravida pregnant women at the Sragen Community Health Center. It is hoped that pregnant women will look for sources of information about the importance of ANC visits for pregnant women in order to learn and improve or increase their knowledge about ANC Services in order to reduce maternal mortality rates. Keywords:  ANC, Mortality Rate, Primigravida

Abstract

Oranges are a fruit that is in great demand by the public. Oranges have a sweet taste and distinctive aroma. Orange peel debris is one of the problems that is of concern to the government. This is because there are still many people who do not use it and just throw it away. This is because many people still don't know that orange peel waste contains the active substance d-lemonene. The d-lemonene compound is a compound that has a fragrant and refreshing aroma, so it can provide a calming feeling to those who inhale it. Therefore, this study aims to see the effect of the fragrant aroma of raw orange peel extract on changes in blood pressure. The extraction method used is steam distillation in order to maximize the yield obtained. After obtaining the raw extract, it was characterized using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to determine the skin content. The research results showed that the yield of orange peel extract calculated based on the volume of extraction results divided by the sample weight in grams was 20% (v/w). Based on the results of Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) characterization, it shows that the sample contains the compound d-lemonene. The effectiveness test showed a decrease in blood pressure in respondents who had high blood pressure and an increase in pressure in respondents who had low blood pressure. The reason is that the d-lemonene compound contained in orange peel can provide a calming sensation. This can happen because the d-lemonene compound is able to inhibit neuroinflammation and nitrite levels in the hippocampus and relieve anxiety through DAergic and GABAergic nerve activity mediated by A2A receptors. Keywords: Blood Pressure, Essencial Oil, Orange Peel

Abstract

Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood where a person experiences significant biological, psychological, and social changes. This development encourages more mature behaviors in adolescents related to various adolescent health problems, thus requiring comprehensive and integrated services that include all elements of different programs and sectors, such as the development of adolescent care health services in the form of an Adolescent Integrated Service Post. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and adolescents' activity in adolescent integrated service posts in Purwosari district, Surakarta, Central Java. This study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design. This research was conducted from October to December 2023 in Purwosari Village, Laweyan District, Surakarta. The total population was 818 adolescents aged 15-19 years. The research sample was 80 adolescents selected by snowball sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The research data were analyzed univariately and bivariately (chi-square test). The results showed a p-value = 0.028, which means that there is a relationship between family support and adolescents' activeness at the integrated youth service post in Purwosari Village. Recommendations given to the health department to improve the implementation of integrated service post activities aimed at adolescents so that it can run optimally and more often conduct activities that can arouse the interest of adolescents who do not participate in youth activities, as well as appeal to parents to encourage the younger generation to start actively participating in youth integrated service post activities. Abstract

Pain is one of the main complaints that drives a person to come to health services. Aging is a natural process experienced by every living creature. The process includes several changes such as physiological, psychological, social and spiritual status. One of the causes of physiological changes in the musculoskeletal system is joint pain. There are several ways to overcome this, namely by practicing footwork (stretching). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of leg movement exercises (stretching) on reducing lower extremity joint pain in the elderly at the Elderly Care Service in Binjai. The type of research used in this research is pre-experimental design with a one group pre test-post test design. The population in this study was 52 elderly people aged 45-59 years. The samples in this study were 10 respondents in the treatment group and 10 respondents in the control group. The sampling technique used in this research is Non Probability Sampling, purposive sampling type. Data was taken using questionnaires and observation sheets. The variable is those who experience lower extremity joint pain. Next, the data were analyzed using a paired t-test with a significance level of p ≤ 0.05. The results showed a decrease in joint pain after giving exercise (stretching). The conclusion is that stretching reduces lower extremity joint pain in the elderly. By reducing joint pain, elderly people can become more active, productive and can live out their old age more comfortably. For future researchers, it is recommended that the scope of the research be deeper for more accurate results by involving a large sample, longer research time and stricter methods of controlling confounding factors. Abstract

Water sources as a basic human need can affect human health, so they must meet the established clean water quality standards. Therefore, the air source used by humans must be guaranteed and protected from metal ions such as manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe) which are excessive for the body. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of variations in filter media arrangements from a combination of silica sand filters and activated carbon to reduce iron (Fe) levels in well water. The method used is quasi experimental with pre-test and post-test. This research was carried out in Balesari, Sukoharjo from October 2023 to March 2024 with the population of this study consisting of 1 community well water which has high levels of iron (Fe). This research uses a quota sampling technique. The instrument used in this research was a laboratory test for iron (Fe) levels. Analysis was carried out using the Anova test and paired T test. This research uses data analysis based on the use of software in the form of the SPSS application. The results of statistical processing carried out on filter media (I) show that the sig value is 0.002. The filter media (II) and (III) show that the sig value is 0.000. This shows that the significance of the three variations in the filter media arrangement of the combination of silica sand and activated carbon has a sig p value ≤ 0.05, so there is a difference in the reduction in iron (Fe) content before and after treatment from the variation in the filter media arrangement of the combination of silica sand and activated carbon for reduce iron (Fe) content in well water. Conclusion, variations in silica sand and activated carbon filter media are effective in reducing iron (Fe) levels in well water in Balesari Sukoharjo. Suggestions for future researchers include the need for additional media that can absorb dissolved iron content, and the need to add appropriate media so that the filtration process runs optimally. Keywords:  Activated carbon,  Iron content, Salica sand
