Abstract

Drug management is a process of planning, implementation, and control. This study evaluates the drug procurement planning process at the Pharmacy Installation of X General Hospital. The research is descriptive qualitative. Data for this study were collected in November 2023, at X General Hospital. The informants in this study consisted of 5 individuals, 2 primary informants, the Head of the Pharmacy Installation and the Pharmacy Warehouse Pharmacist, and 3 triangulation informants, a user, a finance staff member, and the Deputy Director. Data collection techniques included indepth interviews, direct observation (IFRS) with note-taking, and document analysis using monthly drug usage reports. The triangulation method was also applied. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the drug planning process, drug selection, and drug calculation were different from holds. Price determination during planning was based on prices offered by suppliers by cooperation agreements. Examination of financial records showed that the percentage of capital funds in 2023 was 20.7%, indicating that the allocation of funds was inefficient. The number of drug items held at the Hospital, compared to those planned for 2023, was 91.8%, meaning not all drugs were acquired as planned. Similarly, the percentage of drug receipts relative to the plan was also 91.8%, further indicating that not all drugs were received as expected. This study concludes that drug planning and procurement at X General Hospital must still comply with existing regulations, necessitating planning, procurement, and evaluation improvements. The ABC-VEN method can be utilized to assist hospitals in creating a matrix to plan drug procurement more effectively Keywords: Pharmacy, Management, Medicine, Hospital

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of increased persistent blood pressure with a systolic pressure of 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of more than 90 mmHg. Hypertension can be triggered by unhealthy consumption habits such as consumption of foods containing high fat, drinking coffee, alcohol and smoking can stimulate constriction of blood vessels so as to increase blood pressure. This type of research is a quantitative analytic survey with a Cross Sectional design to find the relationship of risk factors affecting the occurrence of disease, this study was conducted to analyze the determinants of hypertension based on consumption habits (frequency of fat and sodium intake) and alcohol consumption in North Tapanuli Regency. Based on calculations using the Lemeshow formula, the minimum sample size required in this study was 93 with the addition of 10 percent. Thus, 103 samples were needed to achieve a confidence level of 95 percent. Measurement of the incidence of hypertension was obtained through direct measurement using a mercury spygmomanometer twice with a 5-minute measurement interval conducted by medical personnel. The incidence of hypertension can be categorized according to the Ministry of Health (2013), namely not hypertension if blood pressure ≤140/90 and hypertension if blood pressure >140/90. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an effect of alcohol consumption on the incidence of hypertension in men aged 22-25 years in North Tapanuli Regency. While the variables of fat and sodium consumption habits have no influence on the incidence of hypertension. Therefore, it is expected that each puskmesmas of North Tapanuli Regency can hold Posbindu PTM in an area that is easily accessible and close to the place of residence so that the implementation of counseling and Posbindu activities can be carried out properly, it is expected for families, to always provide encouragement, direction, motivation and guidance to other family members about the benefits and objectives of Posbindu PTM, so that they feel their health is cared for and they will use Posbindu PTM regularly. Farmers are expected to be able to organize good food consumption habits. By reducing the consumption of fat intake, sodium and reducing the amount of alcohol consumed.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction will encourage high utilization of health services. Patient satisfaction is one of the measures of service quality that will determine hospital performance. Quality and patient satisfaction is one of the factors that make patients come back for treatment because of the feeling of satisfaction they receive or even never come again. This study aims to evaluate the quality of medical services by examining the following dimensions: tangible evidence, reliability, timeliness, confidence, and compassion towards the well-being of dental clinic patients at Haji Amri Tambunan Regional General Hospital. Analytic survey methodology with a cross-sectional design was used in this study. With a sample size of 377, the study population consisted of all dental clinic patients at the Haji Amri Tambunan Regional General Hospital in Deli Serdang from July to December 2023, totaling 1,543 people. Questionnaires were used to collect data, and the Chi-Square test was used to statistically test the findings. Based on the results of the study, it can be stated that there is a significant relationship between the quality of health services based on the dimensions of physical evidence (tangibles) (p-value=0.000), reliability (p-value=0.001), responsiveness (p-value=0.034), assurance (p-value=0.037), and empathy (empathy) (p-value=0.005) to patient satisfaction. Dental polyclinic patient satisfaction is most influenced by the physical evidence variable which is one aspect of health service quality. The dimension of responsiveness is the best dimension of health service quality, while the dimension of physical evidence has the most dominant influence on dental polyclinic patient satisfaction, it is hoped that the Haji Amri Tambunan Deli Serdang Regional General Hospital can improve the reliability dimension, namely providing services as promised accurately and reliably. Abstract

Stunting is still a serious problem for children in Indonesia, including in the Boyolali area, where the stunting rate reaches 20%. This condition occurs when children do not grow and develop properly due to chronic malnutrition, resulting in shorter height compared to their age and frequent infections during the critical first 1,000 days of life. Stunting according to the WHO Child Growth Standard is based on the length-for-age index (PB/U) or height-for-age (TB/U) with a limit (z-score) of less than -2 SD. Several factors contribute to stunting, one of the causes of high stunting is the mother's education level. This study aims to explore the relationship between maternal education and the incidence of stunting at the Sawit 1 Health Center, Boyolali Regency. The method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design, and 135 respondents were selected through purposive random sampling based on certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis conducted included univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square using SPSS software version 20. The study was conducted from May to August 2024. The research findings revealed that 48 children (35.6%) were categorized as normal, 67 children (49.6%) were categorized as stunted, and 20 children (15.8%) were categorized as very short. Meanwhile, mothers of toddlers with elementary school education were 4 respondents (3.0%), mothers of toddlers with junior high school graduates were 37 respondents (27.4%), mothers of toddlers with high school graduates were 70 respondents (51.9%) and diploma and bachelor's graduates were 24 respondents (17.8%). It can be concluded that based on the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between the level of maternal education and the incidence of stunting at the Sawit 1 Health Center with a p value of 0.031 (p <0.05). Abstract

Stunting is a form of growth and development failure in toddlers that results in linear growth disorders, namely from in the womb to the age of two years. North Sumatra has several districts or cities that are the focus of stunting control locations, one of which is Medan City. The prevalence of stunting in Medan City in 2020 was 11.69% and increased in 2021 to 19.9% but in 2022 it fell again to 15.4%. Stunting can be overcome by carrying out specific nutritional interventions by involving the role of mothers of toddlers in the stunting control program. The purpose of this study was to analyze social support such as community leaders, cadres, and families that influence the role of mothers of toddlers in the stunting control program in Medan City. The type of research used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional research design. The population in the study were all mothers who had toddlers with stunting in Medan City. The sampling technique was Random Sampling. The research sample was 257 mothers of toddlers. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The data analysis of this study used the Chi-Square test. The results showed that as many as 198 (77%) mothers of toddlers had low participation in the stunting control program, while as many as 59 (23%) had high participation. The social support factor (p-value = 0.739 > 0.05) did not affect the participation of mothers of toddlers in the stunting control program. Social support significantly affects the participation of mothers of toddlers in stunting control in Medan City, so it is necessary to increase family involvement and cadre communication. Keyword: Stunting, Participation, Support, Social, Family

Abstract

Risk factors for tuberculosis in children include lack of nutrition, HIV infection, poverty, cigarette smoke exposure, and close contact with infected individuals. Children's immune systems are less developed, making them more susceptible and causing severe complications. This study uses cross-sectional research to analyze secondary data from Indonesia's 2018 Basic Health Research study. The sample consisted of 110.465 children aged 0-14, selected randomly or based on criteria. The study used univariate analysis and chi-square bivariate analysis to determine the relationship between variables and the incidence of tuberculosis in children. Further analyses were conducted in May-June 2024 using JASP version 16.The study revealed a significant association between lighting conditions and TB incidence, with 119 cases in well-lit master bedrooms and 51 in poorly lit bedrooms. Kitchen windows also played a role. However, the study concluded that the association could be due to chance, with no strong association between adequate living room lighting and TB incidence. The study found no significant association between lighting or ventilation conditions in different house areas and tuberculosis (TB) incidence. Although slight variations were observed, these were likely due to chance. The prevalence ratios also showed no strong association between adequate lighting or ventilation and TB incidence. Public health initiatives should focus on improving housing infrastructure, ventilation, and hygiene to mitigate environmental risk factors. Further research is recommended to explore socioeconomic and geographical variations influencing TB incidence in children. Keyword: Children, Environment, Home, Tubeculosis
