Abstract

Blasphemy cases are no longer a new case in a country with a pluralistic society like Indonesia. The blasphemy case by M. Kece is the latest case that has caught the public's attention. M. Kece is known to have committed acts of hate speech and insults to the Prophet Muhammad and Islam. This case then did not miss the attention of the media as Kompas.com also highlighted this case in absolutely a different way and construction. For this reason, this study discusses framing analysis with the Robert N. Entman model which consists of four points of analysis, namely defining of problem, diagnosing causes, making a moral judgment, and treatment recommendations on the Kompas.com news portal related to M. Kece's cause. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a constructionist approach to framing analysis. The results of this study concluded that Kompas.com tried to convey M. Kace's reporting accurately with subtle narrations so as not to tarnish the image of M. Kece because he was considered an ordinary YouTuber.

Abstract

The research will be purposed to review the news regarding amandemends narration created by online media Tempo.co. The qualitative research will use Robert N. Entman’s Framing Analysis model. The results of the research implicate that there are refutation of amandemend narratives of UUD 1945 proposed by People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia. The cause of this phenomena lies within the public’s rejection regarding the amandemend due to it’s danger’s posed. Every assembly’s desicion relies on every stakeholder’s perspective, which makes the decision not one sided nor biased. The author recommends to Tempo.co that PPHN and GBHN has to be explained more comprehensively. The amandemend narrative of UUD 1945 offers a room for both the people’s assembly and Indonesians, which involve interviewees of both sides to create the news article. Tempo.co has to maintain the balance and accuracy of news production as it stands with their ideology.

Abstract

One of the elements that build human civilization is how to support the communication dimension in each stage of the civilization, even though the communication aspects are part of civilization itself. Therefore, studying a civilization, we are studying the dimensions of communication in that life. A work by an Israeli historian, Yoval Noah Harari, is the study of this article. Homo Deus, one of Harari's trilogy of masterpieces, has long been the subject of public discussion, containing many controversies that have later invited some debates. An unusual book because it can review almost all aspects of human life. Each focus of the study is reviewed from various dimensions. Examined with an unusual blend, scientific and social meet in one work. Although the content of this book is very comprehensive, the author only examines it from one dimension, namely the communication dimension. Studying this book gives us information that the civilization of communication goes hand in hand with human civilization. There is a reciprocal relationship between human civilization and the dimensions of communication. Communication develops because of the broad path provided by civilization, civilization develops because of the support of communication, and communication itself is part of that civilization. Then this relationship became crippled when communication devices, software and hardware, accelerated beyond human civilization itself.

Abstract

It is undeniable that it has had a negative impact on people's lives, both in terms of health, as well as political, economic, social, and so on. This made the government then issue several handling policies, including Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities, implementation of health protocols, including various rules in the order of religious life, one of which is an appeal to carry out worship at home. So that people can immediately know and comply with these rules, of course, we need an appropriate communication strategy by paying attention to the role of an opinion leader. Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi Province, which is the location of this research, is an area that has regulations on religion. Therefore, a religious figure can be said to be an opinion leader who has a strategic position, especially in communicating government policies related to Covid 19 on religious issues. This is in line with the two-step model of communication flow, both in the pattern of face-to-face communication and mass communication, which introduced the concept of an opinion leader. This research method is descriptive and qualitative with the aim of providing an overview of the role of religious leaders in public communication. Through the interview process with the Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council and the Young Dai of Bulukumba Regency, it is known that public communication carried out by religious leaders is delivered through direct da'wah or using digital media. Furthermore, of course, the results of this research are expected to be an input for the government, in considering and determining opinion leaders in public communication on other issues.
