This study aims to analyze and examine in depth about the ability of mathematical reasoning that is influenced by self-esteem of MTs students. The method in this research using correlational method with quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of MTs in Kota Cimahi and the samples were 20 people determined by purposive sampling technique in one of MTs in Cimahi City. Instrument in this research is test of critical thinking ability of mathematic as much as 5 item and scale of student self confidence as 30 scale statement. The results of this study concluded that the mathematical reasoning ability of students of MTs is positively influenced by their self-esteem of 52.5%, while 47.5% is influenced by factors other than self-esteem students

The purpose of this research is to analyze and examine in depth about the influence of self-efficacy on the ability to think critically mathematically of junior high school students. The research method used in this research is the correlational method with the quantitative approach using simple of 30 students of junior high school class VIII in one of junior high school in West Bandung Regency with high, medium, and low ability student classification. The instrument used consisted of the test of critical thinking ability of mathematics as much as 7 item and non-test in the form of the self-efficacy scale as many as 24 statement. The results of this study indicate that the ability to think critically mathematically junior high school students are positively influenced by self-efficacy amount 56,4 % and influenced by other factors of students self-efficacy amount 43,6 %.

AbstractThis research is based on the problem of the low mathematical problem solving ability of students who have a relationship with someone's success in solving a problem that they face. In this case, to overcome this, a class of research was conducted using an open ended approach and ordinary learning. In addition, this research is a quasi-experimental. The population in this study were students of class X MA in Bandung in 2018/2019 academic year. The research sample is all Class X students in one MA in Bandung. Quantitative analysis was performed using the two-difference test and descriptive qualitative analysis was also carried out. The results showed that the ability to solve mathematical problems using the open ended approach was better than those using the usual approach.

This research did from the low ability phenomena of mathematical communication of SMP in Purwakarta. The low skill ability of mathematical communication can be seen from the lack of students in completing the test of mathematical communication form to provided in the first research, the purpose of this research was to examined the improvement of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) skill with traditional learning and the methodology of this research using quasi-experimental method which consist of two classes. The first is experiment class treated using CTL and the second is control class treated traditional learning. The population of the research taken was students of SMP Negeri 1 Babakan Cikao and a randomly selected sample of consist of 30 students of class VII A as the experiment. Class and 30 students of class VII D as control class. The instrument of this research used 6 items about mathematical communication description form, that has been tested the validity, reliability and distinguish of power form indexed difficulty. Based on the result of data analysis have concluded that the improvement of mathematical communication ability in SMP Negeri 1 Babakan Cikao by using CTL approach is better than traditional learning.

This study aims to increase the problem-solving ability of students of Class VII SMP on the building of flat and rectangular. This type of research is a classroom action research. By using a descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted on the students of Class VII of Junior High School in Karawang with 38 students. The instruments used are students' Mathematical Problem Solving abilities, cycle I and II tests after giving the action. The result of the test pad of cycle 1 is only 37.1% of students who can answer the problem well. And in cycle 2 the result of the test increases from cycle 1. Based on the indicator, it is concluded that the mathematical problem-solving ability of the seventh-grade students of SMP on the building of flat and rectangle is low.

The purpose of this study is no other to know the extent to which the RME approach can improve the mathematical communication skills of students MTS Negeri 2 Purwakarta. The method used is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The 5th grade students of MTsN 2 Purwakarta, which were 5 classes, were used as the population for this study while the research samples were class VIIA as the experimental class and VIIE as the control class. Determination of the sample is taken by the researcher accepting the state of the subject as it is after being grouped not randomly purely to be subjected to the treatment of mathematics learning through Realistic Mathematics Education approach and conventional approach. Instrument of research in the form of test instrument of mathematical communication ability. The results show that the improvement of students' mathematical communication ability using RME approach is better than using the usual approach.b

The purpose of this study is to examine how the relationship between the ability of mathematical understanding with the independence of student learning in learning using a contextual approach. The method in this research is quasi-experimental method, with two different classes taken, where the first class get learning with contextual approach and second class using ordinary learning. The population is all students in one of the cities cimahi with samples taken two classes. Both classes were given pretest and early questionnaires to determine their initial ability, then in the experimental class were given learning with contextual approach and control class were given regular learning, and at the end of both classes were given postes and also final questionnaire, which the data at the end will be in though and in the correlation analysis using Product Moment Pearson. The results showed a significant relationship between the ability of mathematical understanding and student learning independence in learning mathematics..

This study aims to investigate how significant the ability of mathematical reasoning is influenced by the independence of learning on comparative materials. The method used in this study is correlational method with quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of SMP / MTs in Kota Cimahi and the samples were 30 students of MTs Al-Musyahadah Cimahi. The instrument in this research is a test of 6 questions about comparison of mathematical reasoning ability and 32 scale statements of scale self-learning. The data analysis technique, which was applied, is the prerequisite analysis test in the form of normality test and correlation test. The results of this study concluded that students' mathematical reasoning ability on comparison material is positively influenced by learning independence 57.33% and the remaining 42.67% is determined by other factors. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruhi kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis pada materi perbandingan. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP/MTs di Kota Cimahi dan sampelnya sebanyak 30 orang di MTs Al-Musyahadah Cimahi. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan penalaran matematis sebanyak 6 butir soal materi perbandingan yang sudah divalidasi serta diuji cobakan dan skala kemandirian belajar sebanyak 32 skala pernyataan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu berupa uji normalitas dan uji kolerasi. Hasil penelitian ini memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa, kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada materi perbandingan dipengaruhi positif oleh kemandirian belajarnya 57,33% dan sisanya 42,67% ditentukan oleh faktor lain. The purpose of this study was to find out how the mathematical communication skills of students in solving the problem of flat building of class VII triangles in one of the SMP in the city of Cimahi. Data collection uses written tests for 33 students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research that is analyzing students' difficulties in solving mathematical communication skills on indicators stating everyday events and lowering the quadrangular flat building area formula of grade VII students of junior high school. The results of this study can be concluded that there are 6.06% (2 students) who have excellent mathematical communication skills, 93.94% (33 students) have good mathematical communication skills and 0% (no students) who have communication skills mathematically is not good at problem 1 which indicator states everyday events and decreases the formula of quadrilateral flat building. This is due to the lack of ability of students to communicate their ideas so that they cannot solve problems in the given questions and even if asked they can only smile and be quiet.
