Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulty of students in solving the problem description on the material to build a flat sided space. Indicators of difficulty in research are difficulties in understanding concepts, difficulties in applying principles and difficulties in skills. This research method using qualitative descriptive method. This research is conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Cihampelas in Grade VIII of academic year 2019-2020. The population of this study was all eighth grade junior high school students in West Bandung Regency. The subject of the research is the students of class VIII-10, namely students who have high mathematical abilities, moderate mathematical abilities, and low mathematics. To obtain research data an instrument was used in the form of test item description. The results of this study prove that subjects with high mathematical ability are able to apply principles and are skilled in solving problems, but still have difficulty understanding concepts and mathematical abilities are already able to understand concepts but in applying principles are still having difficulties and also experiencing skills difficulties, whereas low mathematically capable subjects have not been able to apply concepts and in applying principles are also still experiencing difficulties and experiencing difficulty in skills.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan ilmu yang sangat erat kaitannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama pada kemajuan IPTEK, oleh karena itu matematika diajarkan di semua jenjang pendidikan, walaupun begitu siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengerjakan  soal-soal matematika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesalahan-kesalahan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal matematika, khususnya pada materi lingkaran serta mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab siswa kesulitan mengerjakan soal. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX di salah satu SMPN di Kota Cimahi yang berjumlah 22 orang, kemudian diambil sampel sebanyak 3 orang yang hasil jawabannya mewakili siswa berkemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah untuk dianalisis secara lanjut . Instrumen yang diberikan berupa 5 butir soal materi lingkaran untuk menganalisis kesulitan-kesulitan siswa, sedangkan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab siswa kesulitan mengerjakan soal dengan melalui observasi dan wawancara terhadap siswa dan guru. Hasil penelitian menujukkan hasil tes rata-rata bernilai 60.18 berada dalam kategori kurang (rendah) itu artinya, siswa masih kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal lingkaran.

Abstract

At every level of education, one of the most important lessons is mathematics. Mathematics becomes a very important learning because it is always used in everyday life. Therefore mathematics learning must be centered on the basic concepts of mathematics. So students can apply the basic concepts of mathematics to everyday life. At this time the development of technology is very rapid and can be utilized to develop based on the TPACK concept of learning media that is in accordance with the model or learning approach to explain a mathematical concept. So that learning mathematics can be more interesting and can help students to understand the basic concepts of mathematics. Hawgent is one of the software developed in accordance with the needs of teaching mathematics. In this study learning media will be developed based on the TPACK concept on line and angle material using hawgent dynamic mathematics software. The results of this study are learning media declared valid by media experts and material experts and can be implemented in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of high school students in solving problems based on solving the material sequence and sequence with stages according to Polya. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The analysis was carried out by giving a written test in the form of a question description with a total of 5 questions and interviews, then analyzing the results of tests and interviews with students. The method of data collection is done by a painted test accompanied by an interview. The results of the analysis show that: (1) students' ability to understand problems is low, that is around 28%, (2) ability to plan low resolution around 32%, (3) ability to solve problems very low around 16%, (4) ability to re-examine very low which is around 8%.

Abstract

Articles m The study of continuous learning innovations is carried out on the awareness of the complexity of educational problems. It is a reference that underlies the purpose of this study. With thirty-six students in Class VII from the medium-low cluster education unit in the area, grouped in groups of low to medium and high mathematical abilities based on the ability to understand mathematical prerequisite material, intends to see the relationship between students' positive attitudes which is the impact of innovative treatment imposed, on the ability geometrical understanding achieved by students. With the help of SPSS 17, the findings lead to the conclusion that variations in students 'attitudes towards mathematics and learning are not exactly correct or cannot be explained by the achievement variables of students' geometric understanding abilities in all three groups of mathematical abilities, low moderate and high. There are other variables that influence the achievement of the geometric ability of students in class VII. Because the students' attitude toward mathematics and positive learning is not the dominant variable that does not even have a real effect.

Abstract

Cognitive process is a person's mindset in accepting, processing and representing the knowledge given by six agreed aspects; remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate and create. This research studies to describe the cognitive processes of students with independent and cognitive fields of cognitive style in solving mathematical problems. The subject of this study was one student with field independent and field dependent cognitive styles. The instrument used was the GEFT test, problem understanding test, and interview guidelines. The process of data analysis is done by triangulating data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. From the research results obtained by students with field independent cognitive style has more detailed characteristics in making explanations and being able to organize the information obtained and be able to save themselves from the development of the adjacent environment. Abstract

This study attempts to analyze their students on a compound the occurrence of matter newman. In terms of gender and the level of confidence. The study is done at student of class XII one vocational schools in west Bandung. By taking sample 5 male students and 5 female students.The methods used are qualitative descriptive with an instrument the written test , the survey, and an interview. A written test given 4 to word problems in one because there are two questions. The results, female students more confidence than male students. For female students are experiencing a mistake at the transformation while male students is starting to understand the problems at the mistake.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the achievement and improvement of problem solving abilities and mathematical connections of high school students in online learning using an advance organizer model. This study used a quasi-experimental approach, and data analysis used a two-way annova for knowing improvement of problem solving abilities and mathematical connections on low, medium, and high student level.. Research conducted at high school have the conclusion that there is a significant difference between students with the Advance Organier model and students who use regular learning seen from the high, medium and low level students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore information related to the insight profile of elementary school teachers related to basic numeracy concepts based on learning according to the level where students are grouped according to their abilities. This study is a descriptive-qualitative study that describes the numerical insight profile of teachers from 6 elementary schools in Karang Sidemen Village, North Batukliang District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The research activity was carried out in conjunction with the ‘Semua Anak CERDAS” training program for elementary school teachers in Karang Sidemen Village. The data collection process used numeracy test questions given to 30 research subjects. Each subject takes 1 topic which is discussed in depth regarding the concept of numeracy in learning based on students' abilities based on levels. Sub-aspects that become indicators of the teacher's numeracy insight profile include the components ‘Semua Anak CERDAS” approach, the scope of basic numeracy, grouping students based on basic numeracy skills, and the level of students' basic numeracy skills. The results showed that of the 30 teachers who took the numeracy test questions, only 6 teachers scored > 70. In addition, the schools studied with the lowest numeracy insight were SDN Rangkep and SDN Repok Sintung Barat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mistakes made by students and analyze the factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving problems on the SPLDV material. This research was conducted at SMP Pasundan 2 Cimahi grade 8 in the even semester. The subjects of this study were students of grade 8E at SMP Pasundan 2 Cimahi. The data collection technique used in this research is by using the method of written tests and interviews. The methods used in data analysis include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of data analysis can be concluded that in the process of solving the SPLDV material questions students made several mistakes, namely: 1) conceptual errors; 2) calculation errors, and 3) procedural errors. The factors that make students make these mistakes are the low understanding ability of students in mastering concepts, lack of doing exercises to solve various questions, students tend to be in a hurry when working on questions, lack of accuracy of students in solving problems and the high sense of laziness of students in checking back. the result of the answer.
