Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical connection ability of class X high school students through SPLTV material. The study was conducted at SMA N 1 Panyabungan Timur class X-MIA1 by taking a sample of 6 research subjects. This research is a research that uses descriptive qualitative method. The instrument used in this study was a test question in the form of a description of 3 questions. The procedure in this study was carried out by analyzing the answers given by students in connecting SPLTV material with other materials and contextual problems which were categorized into three levels of ability, namely high, medium and low. The data analysis technique in this study is to collect data, reduce data and then draw conclusions. The results showed that the mathematical connection ability of students at SMA N 1 Panyabungan Timur was adequate, judging from the results of the tests that had been collected.

Abstract

This article discusses the analaisis of students' mathematical concept comprehension ability in the Linear Program material. The subjects of this study were 8 students of class XII science 2 at SMAN 2 Telukjambe Timur. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The instrument in this study is in the form of a description test instrument of 4 questions that contain indicators of understanding concepts. The analytical techniques used are data reduction, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. And the results of this study, in the excellent category there is 1 student with a percentage of 12.5%, the good category there are 2 students with a percentage of 25%, in the sufficient category there are 2 students with a percentage of 25%, the bad category there is 1 student with a percentage of 12.5%, and for the very bad category there are 2 students with a very bad category with a percentage of 25%. So, if we look at the average score, it can be concluded that the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in this study is in the sufficient category.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate how students of class XI TKR 2 SMK Nurul Hidayah Pasundan develop their mathematical problem-solving skills using a problem-based learning technique on the topic of matrix determinants. This research is a classroom action research. The 2021–2022 school year's odd-numbered semester was employed for this study. There were 15 students of class XI TKR 2 who were used as research subjects. The following are the steps in this research: (1) Planning, (2) Action Implementation, (3) Observation and Evaluation, (4) Reflection. A learning outcome assessment used in this study measures students' ability to solve problems in relation to the determinants of the matrix., that is: (1) initial test, (2) first cycle test and second cycle test, (3) final test, and ( 4) observation sheets for researchers and students. The learning scenario had to be met by more than 80% of the activities performed in this study, and more than 80% of the individual students had to receive a score of at least 75. According to the study's findings, students in class XI TKR 2 at SMK Nurul Hidayah Pasundan can increase their capacity to solve mathematical problems by employing a problem-based learning approach when studying matrix determinants.

Abstract

This study aims to dissect students' learning inspiration on the material for building flat sides with the help of interactive Powerpoint. The method used in this exam is a qualitative descriptive technique. The subjects of this study were 6th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Ciwidey, consisting of 2 male students and 4 female students. The information retrieval technique uses a student learning motivation scale on the flat-sided building material assisted by interactive Powerpoint media which contains 10 statements with 5 positive statements and 5 negative statements. The results of data analysis in this study indicate that students are included in the very good category, which is 82.1% of the results of calculations using Microsoft Excel. Utilization of interactive Powerpoint media can help students in learning the material for building flat sides.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze and determine the effect of the problem based learning model on the mathematical understanding ability of junior high school students on the material of one variable linear inequalities. This research is a classroom action research, which was carried out for 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were students of class VII-I of SMP Negeri 1 Cipatat in the academic year 2021/2022 with a total of 16 students. The test instrument used in the form of a description of the problem using indicators of mathematical understanding ability as many as 4 numbers on the material of one variable linear inequalities. How to process the data in the study obtained from normalized gain data, with the results of student answers in this study a score of 0.60. This shows that the students' mathematical understanding ability is increasing, with a moderate category. The non-test instrument used in the form of a scale questionnaire of students' interest in learning mathematics as many as 14 statement items containing balanced positive and negative statements. The result of the response of students' interest in learning mathematics has a strong influence on the achievement of students' mathematical understanding, which is 76.3 with a strong category.

Abstract

This research uses a quantitative research that aims to determine whether there is an effect of Blended Learning using Flipped Classroom model on students’ mathematical reasoning abilities on the linear absolute value inequality of one variable. The type of research used is experimental research in a  quasi experimental from with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research were all tenth graders of SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar for the academic year 2022/2023 as many as 357 students. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, while the samples from this research were taken X-PMIA 5 as the experimental class and X-PMIA 6 as control class. The instrumen used is a test of students’ mathematical reasoning abilities in the form of description of 5 equestions. The data analysis technique used to see the effect is using an Z-test, after calculating, obtained Z_hit=2,884 dwith a significant level of 0,05 then obtained Z_tab=1,64. Thus its is known that  〖Z_hit>Z〗_tab is 2,884>1,64 so can be concluded that there is an effect of Blended Learning using Flipped Classroom model on students’ mathematical reasoning abilities on the linear absolute value inequality  one  of variable.

Abstract

This observe aims to decide the effects of college students' solutions to the information presentation material. Mastery of data presentation material is one of the activities in making reviews on studies results which have been carried out so that they can be understood and analyzed according with the preferred objectives. The statistics presented have to be simple and clear so that it is straightforward to study. The presentation of records is supposed so that observations can without difficulty apprehend what is presented for making assessments, comparisons and others. This study aims to present a data using a problem based learning assisted by Microsoft Excel. This research method uses descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study were seventh grade junior high school students involving a sample of 30 students. Data collection was obtained by documenting the results of student tests based on instrument questions on the presentation of data containing indicators of competency achievement. The results obtained by students with an overall total score who can solve the problem of presenting data calculated using Microsoft Excel based on percentage (%) get 81% which includes the interpretation which is moderate.

Abstract

Students' ability to understand concepts is closely related to reasoning, communication, and problem solving skills. So a good understanding of concepts will help students achieve their learning goals well. This study aims to analyze and describe students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in the application of blended learning. The subjects in this study were class VIII students at SMPN 1 Sepatan, Kab. Tangerang. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The procedures used in this study include the preparation, implementation, data analysis, and preparation stages. Data analysis techniques used in this study include Data Reductions, Data Display, and Conclusions. The results of this study there are differences in each indicator of the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts, not all indicators are met quite well. Blended learning has a good effect on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts, this is due to face-to-face learning where students get a direct explanation of the material. This blended learning learning model is an effective and efficient learning in the implementation of distance learning.

Abstract

This research aims to give the description about the mistakes by students in solving market balance problems in financial and business mathematics course. The method in this research is a qualitative descriptive method and the subjects in this research were semester 2 students of the Islamic Economics study program at STAI Muhammadiyah Probolinggo. The techniques for data collection are exams and interviews, while the technique for data analysis in this research uses the formula P=  f/N ×100%. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that there were 5 errors by the subjects in solving market balance problems in financial and business mathematics course, namely errors in writing Q_s notation, doing the calculation process, moving numbers or variables from one segment to another, multiplying both sides with a number to eliminate the denominator on a side, and errors in determining the offered price after tax.

Abstract

The implementation of this research was carried out with the aim of analyzing what mistakes students made when solving line and angle problems through online learning. The type of research used is descriptive and qualitative methods. The subject of the study was 25 students of class VII at one of the SMP Negeri 3 Parongpong for the 2020/2021 academic year. The results obtained by processing analytical data with techniques carried out by calculating the percentage of student errors. The instrument presented to students is in the form of 6 description test questions. From the results of the analysis experienced by students, namely students are not careful in understanding the question of lines and angles, students are not able to describe or solve problems. Thus, it can be concluded that students can answer the questions correctly, but some do not by solving them.
