Abstract

Since online learning began to be implemented, many students have difficulty learning, especially in learning mathematics .The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze of student learning difficulties for class VII students through LKPD based on Live Worksheets of SMP Negeri 2 Cikampek and to examine students' constraints when working on the set of worksheets. Worksheets prepared using a problem-based approach (PBL). This research method uses the description method and the research subjects are 45 students in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Cikampek. The data obtained in the form of student answers and analyzed so that conclusions are obtained in the form of research results. The results of this study indicate that grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Cikampek can already distinguish between sets and non-sets, but there are still many students who have difficulty writing set notation. Another obstacle is when using Live Worksheets. .These obstacles include the lack of knowledge of students about e-LKPD, lack of confidence/fear of making mistakes when working through Live Worksheets, pressing the finish button incorrectly when completing the worksheet and obstacles from media/mobile phones that do not support the use of Live Worksheets.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to re-examine the impact of ethnomathematics-based learning on student learning outcomes in mathematics by examining, summarizing data, and statistically assessing various research findings that have been published in up to 18 articles on Google Scholar. This kind of study falls under the category of meta-analysis. Data gathering, coding, calculation of improved student learning outcomes and effect size, detection of average difference existence or absence, and conclusion drawing are some of the research steps. The average effect size is 2.97, with a very large category, according to the study's findings. According to the paired sample t-test, however, the sig value (2 tailed) = 0.000 = 0.05 indicates that there are variations between the typical learning outcomes of students' mathematics before and after applying ethnomathematics-based learning. It may be inferred from the average impact size and the outcomes of the paired sample t-test that the use of ethnomathematics-based learning influences student learning outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively and learn independently of students is very important in learning mathematics. As a result, we require a learning model that can help students develop their creative thinking skills and independent learning, such as the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model. This study aims to determine whether the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model can improve students' creative thinking skills and independent learning. The method in this study is quantitative with the CTL model using the Class Action Research (CAR) method which was carried out in class XII IPS 1 SMA Pasundan 7 Bandung with 30 students. The technique used in data collection is quantitative data with a test instrument and qualitative data with a questionnaire instrument. The findings indicated that using the CTL learning model in mathematics can improve students' creative thinking skills and independence in class XII IPS 1 SMA Pasundan 7 Bandung. CTL model students outperform conventional learners in terms of creative thinking ability and mathematical learning independence. There is a link between students' mathematical learning independence and their ability to think creatively.

Abstract

Until now, research on the application of guided inquiry learning models to students understanding of mathematical concepts has been carried out with varying finding. Therefore, a meta analysis study was conducted to verify the overall effect of the guided inquiry learning model on students understanding of mathematical concepts. By investigating Google dan Google Scholar databases and using predetermined keywords, 13 scientific papers were obtained. Of the 13 scientific papers, based on the inclusion criteria, 10 scientific papers were worthy of analysis. The analysis of scientific papers was carried out using the effect size index from the Hedges’g equation and the JASP software using a fixed effects model to determine the overall effect size estimate. The results obtained that the overall effect size from the application of the guided inquiry learning model to students understanding of mathematical consepts is 0,645 with a standard error of 0,084 and it is proven that this research is not indicated by publication bias. Thus, this study indicates that the application of the guided inquiry learning model is quite effective in improving students understanding of mathematical concepts because it has a fairly high positive effect.

Abstract

The development of mathematical reasoning is part of an important process that needs to be taught to students, as reflected in teacher education. This study focuses on the education of prospective teachers of mathematics which aims to describe the knowledge of prospective teachers about students' mathematical reasoning processes. The subjects of this study were prospective mathematics teacher students who were selected by purposive sampling. The instruments used include math assignments and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and making conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the knowledge of the reasoning process carried out by prospective mathematics teachers is organized into 3 levels of knowledge in each reasoning process that appears, namely generalizing, justifying, classifying, and exemplifying. At the level of knowledge of the reasoning process, student teacher candidates still have difficulty in analyzing students' reasoning processes, using the meaning of terms in everyday life, and only considering the correct reasoning process. An important aspect of the reasoning process is developing knowledge by completing the means as a medium to understand the reasoning process in each student's learning.
