Abstract

Student ability in terms of solving mathematical problems are very concerning. This happens because of students' inability in basic calculations and enthusiasm in learning. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of using LKPD liveworksheet modeled problem-based learning on the abilities that students must have, namely problem solving skills / mathematical problem solving. This type of research uses quantitative quasi experiment. With subjects consisting of experimental classes and control classes with 20 students each. In this study it was found that there was an influence in the use of LKPD liveworksheet modeled problem-based learning got a quite relevant influence seen from the average change in learning of the experimental class and control class. While seen based on the independent t test conducted, the hemogeneity test results get the results of 0.121> 0.05 declared homogeneous and the hypothesis test gets the results of 0.00 <0.05 which can be concluded that there is a difference in the average learning outcomes using LKPD liveworksheet modeled problem based learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' errors in solving mathematical connection problems of System Inequality Linear Two Variables based on Kastolan's stages. The research subjects chosen in this study were students of one of the high schools in West Bandung Regency. This research uses a qualitative method of case study approach. The instruments used in this research are the researcher himself, test instruments and interviews. The data collection techniques in this study used data collection techniques triangulation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. There are 3 types of errors made by students in connection problems in Systems of Two Variables Linear Inequalities. First, conceptual errors include students not using the correct formulas and theorems to answer problems, using formulas incorrectly in determining each inequality, and misinterpreting a statement in determining the sign of inequality. Second, the procedural error is students did the questions given not according to the steps. Third, technical errors are converting units incorrectly and making errors in calculations.

Abstract

This research focuses on the results of the analysis of the errors that occur when students solve problems related to matrices at the high school level, assuming that there are many errors in solving these problems from different perspectives. The main purpose of this research is to find out the most common types of errors and the factors affecting them, based on the research object presented by the researcher. The study was prepared through a qualitative study, where the results of an error analysis obtained directly from the evaluation of high school students were examined. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' errors in solving  matrix material problems include different types of errors, which  are usually identified as errors in performing matrix operations, such as  addition or subtraction errors of matrix elements. In addition, there are  errors in understanding the basic concepts of matrices, such as errors in identifying the size of a matrix  or identifying the elements of a matrix. Contributing factors to these errors are lack of conceptual understanding, lack of practice and confusion in applying the relevant formulas.
