Abstract

Green grass jelly is a plant that is widely used by people as medicine or as food. One of the benefits of the green grass jelly plant is as a gastritis therapy. This is because the grass jelly plant contains various compounds such as alkaloids, saponins, tannins and flavonoids. The parts often used are leaves and stems. So the aim of this research is to prove the contents of the green grass jelly plant which are predicted to be a medicine for gastritis, so a phytochemical screening was carried out and differentiating the contents in the leaves and stems of the green grass jelly plant. The method used experimentally was making 96% ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves, and screening for phytocia. The results showed that the 96% ethanol extract of leaves and stems contained alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids and tannins. The difference between leaves and stems is that there is no sediment but there is turbidity. The conclusion of the research is that the contents contained in the 96% ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves and stems are the same, namely alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids and tannins.

Abstract

Nutritional problems among adolescents in Indonesia, especially in developing areas, are a serious concern with the prevalence of malnutrition reaching 9.2% at the age of 13-15 years. This research aims to analyze the role of culture-based nutrition education in increasing local food consumption and adolescent awareness of food intake. Using a quasi-experimental design, research was conducted in Sugihwaras Village, Tuban Regency, involving 38 teenagers as subjects. The education is carried out through the traditional game called Sri Gendem, which integrates material about teenagers' behavior towards local food. Research shows a significant increase in adolescent behavior toward balanced nutrition and local food consumption after the intervention. These findings indicate that culture-based nutrition education, through an interactive approach, is effective in increasing adolescent nutritional awareness, as well as encouraging the consumption of nutritious local food.

Abstract

The high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is caused by several health and non-health factors, for example there are still many births assisted by traditional birth attendants or caused by disease or nutritional problems. The maternal mortality rate (MMR), which is an indicator of maternal health in Indonesia, is still high when compared with ASEAN countries. Knowledge about the danger signs in pregnancy helps reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) by encouraging pregnant women to quickly seek health facilities. Early detection of danger signs allows prompt treatment, which can reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. It is very important for pregnant women to know about the danger signs of pregnancy. If they encounter danger signs of pregnancy, they can immediately seek help from health workers. This research is descriptive in nature with the population being 40 pregnant women who live in Purwodadi Village, PKM Muliorejo Working Area, Deli Serdang Regency. Data was collected using a questionnaire, processed using a frequency distribution and presented in the form of narrative text. The research results showed that there were 5 pregnant women who had good knowledge about the danger signs of pregnancy (9.3%) and 14 people (14.4%) who had good knowledge about the danger signs of pregnancy and 15 pregnant women who had a positive attitude about the danger signs of pregnancy ( 37.5%) and 25 people (62.50%) had a negative attitude. Furthermore, it is hoped that the Health Service will intensify the education and counseling program regarding the danger signs of pregnancy in health service facilities and that pregnant women will be active in seeking information related to pregnancy health, especially regarding the Danger Signs of Pregnancy.
