Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and job stress among nurses at Rumah Sakit Soeradji Tirtonegoro (RSST). The background of this research is based on the high emotional pressure and workload, both administrative and in direct patient care, that nurses often face. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 52 nurses were selected as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using the Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Job Stress Scale, and analyzed using Pearson correlation. The results showed a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and job stress, with a correlation coefficient of r = -0.574; p < 0.05. The higher the nurses’ emotional intelligence, the lower their level of job stress. These findings highlight the importance of emotional intelligence as a protective factor against work-related stress and support the enhancement of service quality. The study recommends implementing emotional intelligence training for nurses to reduce job stress and improve psychological well-being in hospital settings.

Abstract

Green Betel Leaf (Piper Betle L) is a traditional medicinal plant that is closely related to dental and oral health. Betel leaves are useful for strengthening teeth, eliminating bad breath and stopping gum bleeding. Saliva also affects the pH of the mouth. A decrease in salivary pH can cause rapid demineralization of tooth elements, while an increase in salivary pH can lead to bacterial colonization that can lead to calculus formation. This research aims to determine the effect of gargling boiled green betel leaf water on saliva pH in young adults at KGPM Eben Heazer Bahu. The research location is at the KGPM Eben Heazer shoulder pastor, and the research time is in June 2024. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with a one group pretest posttest design, the sample size is 43 people, with the sample collection method using a random sampling method with inclusion criteria. Data collection was obtained from the results of measuring saliva pH using universal pH test paper, a format for examining saliva pH before and after gargling boiled green betel leaf water. Data analysis used non-parametric statistical tests with the Wilcoxon test method. The research results obtained showed that the average saliva pH value before gargling was 7.14, the saliva pH value after gargling was 7.35, with a difference in the average saliva pH value of 0.21. analysis using the Wilcoxon test shows that there is a significant effect seen from the p value = 0.002 (0.002 < 0.05). This means that there is an effect of gargling boiled green betel leaf water on the pH of saliva.

Abstract

HIV and Syphilis are still hot issues in society, especially among pregnant women who are very susceptible to sexually transmitted infections (IMS), especially HIV and Syphilis. The prevalence rate in Indonesia for HIV and Syphilis reaches 0,39%. HIV reaches 1,7% and Syphilis reaches 2,5% in pregnant women. This is due to the lack of knowledge and insight about HIV and Syphilis, which causes negative attitudes such as fear and unwillingness to undergo HIV and Syphilis examinations because they feel unimportant. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women with HIV and Syphilis examinations. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectonal research design. This type of research is quantitative analytic. The number of respondents was 50 pregnant women in TM 1 or Tm 3 who underwent pregnancy examinations at the Medan Johor Health Center, which used the Total Sampling technique. Data were obtained using quetionnaires and laboratory test. The results of the study showed that out of 50 respondents, 30 respondents were in the category of good knowledge about HIV and Syphilis. Meanwhile, 39 respondents had a positive attitude toward HIV and Syphilis examinations and 11 respondents had a negative attitude and one respondent whose test results were positive. The results of the statistical test using Chi- Square showed a significance result of p = 0,304 (p > 0,05), so it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women with HIV and Syphilis examinations

Abstract

University students are a population vulnerable to dietary pattern shifts and reduced physical activity due to academic demands and lifestyle changes. These factors may contribute to both undernutrition and overnutrition. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the association between dietary habits, physical activity, and nutritional status among undergraduate students at Universitas Sebelas Maret. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted involving 150 students selected via simple random sampling from five faculties. Validated questionnaires assessed snacking frequency, late-night eating habits, and physical activity. Nutritional status was determined using Body Mass Index (BMI). Data were analyzed using Chi-square tests. Significant associations were found between nutritional status and snacking frequency (p = 0.000), late-night eating (p = 0.046), and physical activity frequency (p = 0.028). Students who frequently snacked, consumed meals late at night, and engaged in low physical activity tended to exhibit overweight or obesity.Unhealthy dietary behaviors and insufficient physical activity are significantly associated with increased nutritional status among university students. Targeted health promotion and preventive interventions are essential to foster healthier lifestyles in this population.

Abstract

According to the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 17 of 2023, health is a state of physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being that enables individuals to live productively. Oral health is part of promotive and preventive efforts to prevent dental and oral diseases, including dental caries, which frequently occurs in elementary school children and can affect their growth and quality of life. Lack of understanding among children about oral health is a risk factor for caries. Therefore, interactive and engaging educational methods such as scramble media are needed to improve children's understanding of maintaining oral health. This study aimed to describe the use of scramble media in dental caries prevention education among third-grade students at Namira Islamic School. This research used a quantitative descriptive approach involving 30 third-grade students. Data were collected through observation and a knowledge assessment instrument administered before and after education using scramble media. Before the education, students with good knowledge were 6 (20%), moderate 19 (63.3%), and poor 5 (16.6%). After the education, students with good knowledge increased to 19 (63.3%), moderate 11 (36.6%), and there were no students in the poor category (0%). Dental caries prevention education using scramble media is effective in improving elementary school students' knowledge of oral health and can serve as an alternative promotive and preventive educational method in schools.
