Readers of the journal are earnestly invited to contribute their ideas to this forum. Contributions for the Comments and Criticism section should be relatively brief, normally two to four manuscript pages, written in Indonesian and English, and will be published as rapidly as possible.

Abstrak Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam tidak hanya membahas tentang materi akan tetapi juga  tentang praktik atau pengalaman secara langsung. Peserta didik seharusnya diajak melaksanakan praktik secara riil, konkrit, sesuai dengan teori yang sedang dipelajari (Dalam konteks IPA SD yaitu tentang keadaan lingkungan sekitar, atau yang ada di kehidupan sehari-hari). Permasalahan yang ada di lapangan, pada kenyataanya, sebagian guru  hanya mengajarkan teori yang ada di buku dan hanya menerapkan pembalajaran di dalam ruang kelas. Hal tersebut dipicu karena tidak adanya fasilitas laboratorium yang memadai di sekolah, serta minimnya motivasi untuk membuat inovasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan phenomenology. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sebenarnya solusi dari permasalahan ini sangat dekat dengan bapak/ibu guru, yaitu  lingkungan sekitar sekolah dengan berbagai objek dan fenomenanya. Adanya lingkungan sekolah ini baik halaman, kebun dan lapangan sekolah ini dapat menjadi wahana yang sangat tepat sebagai alternatif laboratorium pembelajaran, atau dengan istilah lain yaitu sebagai laboratorium berbasis lingkungan.   Â

Research has been conducted to determine the effectiveness of the guided discovery model based on the virtual lab PhET (Physics Education technology) on mastering students' concepts in the photoelectric effect material. The purpose of this study is describing the feasibility of learning, student activity, and the effectiveness of the model applied to the mastery of student concepts. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with the design of one group pretest-posttest. The data obtained were in the form of learning accuracy questionnaires, student activities, and the results of the pretest and posttest mastery of students' concepts. Analysis of data on implementation and activities of students used percentage of agreement, while mastery of students' concepts was analyzed descriptively quantitatively through homogeneity, normality, and N-gain test. Based on data and analysis, it was concluded that the implementation of categorical learning was very good, student activities were in good category, and guided discovery models based on virtual labs PhET were effectively used to improve mastery of students' concepts in the photoelectric effect material.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas implementasi model Cooperative Learning Tipe Snowball Throwing untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa pada materi Pencemaran Lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen, dengan rancangan Quasy Experimental (pretest-postest control group design). Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIIB sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIC sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis uji-t dengan taraf kesalahan 5%. Hasil uji t menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan, dengan nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu thitung = 3,475 lebih besar dari ttabel = 2,004 pada taraf sig 5%, yang menyatakan ada perbedaan tingkat kreativitas yang signifikan siswa VII SMP N 1 Bogorejo materi Pencemaran Lingkungan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Snowball Throwing untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan terbukti lebih efektif.

The purpose of this research was to find out the Influence of E-Learning with Schoology on physics learning. The success indicators in this study is cosidered when at least 75% of students were able to passed the required standard minimum score. The reseach aims to evaluate the effectiveness of E-learning schoology to increase the level of understanding in learning physics at Karangdowo 1 Senior Highschool (SMAN 1 Karangdowo). The research was built upon the classroom observation to 35 students from the class of XI IPS 4. The research will begin on July 16 until August 20, 2019. The duplicated data containing three meeting on each cycle were recodered at two observational points: pre- and post-application cycles of the learning strategy. The students learning ability meassured by pre-cycle posttest was estabished as an initial baseline., following by recorded the improvement of the latter after the E-learning schoology has been applied. The result have shown that students understanding level in learning pysics is increased by 10.71% depicted by the increasing number of students (in percentage) that passed the standard minimum grade 70, on pre-cycle (25.7%) compared with the post-cyle (51.4 and 85.71%). The latter two scores were obtained from the post cycle-posttest scores after the application of the basic E-learning schoology and its associated modification method, respectively.Therefore, it can be concluded that the E-learning schoology can be considered as a promising method to increase learning outcomes for senior high school students in learning physics.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam permainan hompimpa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Quasi Experiment dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian Pre-Experimental Design dengan desain penelitian Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan jumlah total sampel sebanyak 65 siswa salah satu sekolah menengah swasta di kota Bandung pada tahun ajaran 2017-2018. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu berupa data utama untuk mengukur ranah kognitif siswa sebanyak 25 soal pilihan ganda yang disesuaikan dengan indikator pembelajaran sesuai level kognitif siswa. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 43,43 dan rata-rata posttest sebesar 85,49 pada kelas eksperimen, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol yaitu didapatkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 51,07 dan rata-rata posttest sebesar 57,47. Ranah afektif yaitu penilaian minat siswa tehadap hasil belajar pada Biologi konsep sel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian siswa memiliki respon positif terhada pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) yang berimplikasi terhdap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang cukup baik.

Meningkatnya jumlah penduduk yang semakin pesat dan disertai dengan penyebaran permukiman akan mempengaruhi jumlah limbah cair yang dibuang, yang akan berdampak pada pencemaran di lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar logam plumbum (Pb) yang terkandung dari hasil tangkapan ikan nila (Oreochormis niloticus Linn) di Waduk Tunggu Pampang Makassar. Metode penelitian dibagi menjadi dua tahap, yaitu pengambilan sampel dan menganalisis kandungan timbal (Pb) sampel tersebut. Pengambilan sampel terdiri dari ikan kecil, ikan sedang dan ikan besar. Kandungan logam berat plumbum (Pb) dalam sampel kemudian diuji di Kantor Pusat Laboratorium Dinas Kesehatan Kota Makassar. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar logam plumbum (Pb) pada nila (Oreochormis niloticus linn) hasil tangkapan nelayan di waduk pampang menunggu Makassar mengandung logam berat positif tetapi masih dalam ambang batas sesuai dengan ketentuan 1,5 mg / kg berdasarkan kepala badan pengawas Obat dan Minuman Repobblik Indonesia 2009 no. HK.00.06.1.52.4011. Kandungan hasil tangkapan logam berat Pb nila (Oreochormis niloticus linn) nelayan di waduk Pampang Makassar berturut-turut berukuran kecil, sedang dan besar 0,03 mg / l, 0,02 mg / l, dan 0,02 mg / l. Dengan hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan kisaran kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) yang ditemukan di nila (Oreochormis niloticus Linn) hasil tangkapan nelayan di waduk Tunggu Pampang Makassar masih layak untuk dikonsumsi. Kesimpulan: kandungan logam timah hitam (Pb) yang mengandung nila (Oreochormis niloticus Linn) yang ditangkap oleh nelayan di Waduk Tunggu Pampang Makassar masih dalam batas normal sehingga ikan tersebut masih layak untuk dikonsumsi.

This study aims to determine patterns of interaction of male and female betta fish behavior during mating. This research is an exploratory descriptive study in which observing the behavior of male and female betta fish periodically for three days in the morning and evening in aquariums that were given a barrier for an hour then unites male and female betta fish in one container and observe interactions between males and females for two hours in the afternoon. This research uses ad libitum sampling method, namely research by observing all activities that were seen based on field facts. The equipment used in the form of insulated glass aquariums and fishing nets, the material needed was a betta fish type as much as 6 tails. Data was collected by means of observation using observation sheets, observation notes, and documentation tools. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques that describe the behaviors that arise during observation. The results of observations in different containers showed that the behavior of the male betta fish was the most dominant make bubbles while the behavior of the female betta fish was the most dominant silence at the bottom of the aquarium. In one container, the most dominant male betta fish behavior was swim around the aquarium while the most dominant female betta fish behavior was to stay at the bottom of the aquarium.

Vitamin C is an essential compound for human. The sources of Vitamin C are very abundant both natural and artificial. In this study, analyzed levels of Vitamin C in natural foods and artificial drinks that can be consumed by humans. The analysis aims to provide information on Vitamin C levels from these foodstuffs and beverages, so that humans can predict the content of Vitamin C that must be consumed or consumed daily. Many methods can be used to determine Vitamin C in a sample, the method used in determining Vitamin C in a research sample is the iodimetric method. Based on the analysis of research data, the Vitamin C level in sample A was 2.286 mg/g sample, the Vitamin C level in sample B was 2.204 mg/g sample, and the Vitamin C level in sample C was 0.044 mg/g sample. The data shows that humans need about 18 - 68 grams of sample A material per day to fulfill 40 - 90 mg of Vitamin C needed. Sample B material is needed around 20 - 70 grams to fulfill 40 - 90 mg of Vitamin C needed. And, the sample C material is needed around 56 - 106 grams per day to fulfill 40 - 90 mg of Vitamin C needed.

Developing Practicum Tutorial Video For High School Students On The Human Blood Circulation In The Eleventh Graders Of Science Class To Support Biology Learning In The Covid-19 Pandemic Time. The government requires educators to use technology-based e-learning such as a practicum tutorial video for students. The purpose of this study was to develop a tutorial video for a practicum on human blood circulation material for high school students in the eleventh grade of IPA class in order to support Biology learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This was a research and development using the ADDIE model having five stages, namely: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The instrument of the study used a questionnaire and test. The questionnaire was used as the measurement of learning media in the form of a tutorial video, and the test was used as a cognitive (knowledge) measurement. Based on the results, the video tutorial practicum had a good score of 3 tested by media and material experts, a score of 3.66 in the very good category assessed by the teachers, an average score of 2.96 with the results in the good category assessed by the students. Thus, the developed practicum tutorial video is feasible as the learning medium on human blood circulation material for practicum activity during the Covid-19 pandemic

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry-discovery terhadap meningkatnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi fluida statis. Penelitian dilakukan kepada siswa SMA kelas XI di kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-experiment sebagai metode untuk melaksanakan penelitian. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah adanya peningkatan dalam kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi lainnya, seperti kemampuan pemecahan masalah untuk mengurangi miskonsepsi mereka dengan menggunakan pembelajaran yang sama.
