Abstract

The success of a company in achieving its business goals is closely related to its marketing capabilities as a vital department that interacts directly with consumers. Before formulating an effective strategy, a thorough analysis of the company is essential. A widely used company analysis approach is the BCG Growth/Share Matrix, pioneered by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a private management consulting firm headquartered in Boston, known for its expertise in market share development. This study examines the strategic positioning of CV. Tjahaja Baru Simpang Empat using the BCG Growth/Share Matrix. The company, a Yamaha motorcycle distributor, demonstrated a 10.7% sales market growth from 2021 to 2022. The relative market share of Yamaha increased from 0.17 to 0.32 within the same period. Despite this growth, the company's market share remains below one, suggesting room for improvement. CV. Tjahaja Baru Simpang Empat falls within the "Question Mark" quadrant, denoting high growth potential with low market share. A "Build" strategy is recommended, capitalizing on the growth opportunity to increase market share. This research underscores the significance of strategic planning, utilizing the BCG matrix to guide marketing strategies and enhance business success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the direct export policy of tuna in North Sulawesi province. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The information used in this study amounted to 5 people consisting of the head of the Marine and Fisheries Service of North Sulawesi Province, the fish processing unit and the fishing community. Data collection is done through observation, interviews and documentation. Sources of research data consist of primary data obtained directly through interviews and secondary data taken from books, journals, annual reports as well as literature and other supporting documents. This study focused on aspects of policy implementation consisting of size and objectives, inter-organizational communication resources, characteristics of implementing agencies, socio-political and economic conditions, and attitudes of implementers. Data analysis consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the direct export policy for tuna is prepared to cut export costs which are too expensive due to the existence of an export route that is too long which will automatically affect the quality of the fish where the price of tuna will be affected by the quality of the fish that reaches the destination country, so that it can also affect the distribution process of tuna. In conclusion, the potential for tuna products in North Sulawesi has a significant impact and has a positive direction towards tuna exports between Indonesia and Japan in general and North Sulawesi to Japan or other countries in particular.

This study examines the leverage of each system archetype model in UMKM partnerships and also uses an internal matrix (IFE) and an external matrix (EFE). From the EFAS and IFAS data calculations above, it can be seen that the company's current position is in quadrant I coordinates (1,946 ; 1,395) namely the expansion (growth) quadrant, which is expected to be able to maintain and sustain the strategy and be able to penetrate the market and develop products. Based on the results of the model simulation process with the Casual Leverage Loop System, it is hoped that there will be several relationship structures between elements that influence each other in UMKM and partners, namely partners from large companies that have industrial scope both in the tofu-tempeh trade chain area and even the soybean import industry. Abstract

This study aims to empirically analyze the determinants of cash holding in manufacturing companies within two specific industry sector in Indonesia: the Consumer Goods industry sector and Automotive sector in 2019-2021 period. The objective of the study is likely to understand the factors that influence the amount of cash that manufacturing companies in these sectors hold during a time of economic uncertainty and disruption. Cash holdings can serve as a buffer against financial distress, allowing companies to cover operational expenses, debt obligations, and investment opportunities, especially during times of crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. The selected determinants include Firm Size, Leverage using Debt to Assets Ratio, Debt to Maturity Structure, and Probability of Financial Distress. This study took 134 data observations as a sample using purposive sampling technique. Hypothesis testing is done using multiple linear analysis using Eviews 12 software as a data processing. The results of this study concluded that Firm Size has no effect on Cash Holding, Big companies don’t need to hold a lot of cash because they are able to carry out business activities more efficiently which is more profitable. Leverage, which is calculated using the Debt to Asset Ratio, has a significant negative effect, with debt the company has an obligation to pay interest expenses and loan principal so that the cash owned by the company will be reduced to pay off these obligations. Debt to Maturity Structure has a significant negative effect on Cash Holding, when companies with a greater proportion of short-term debt will maintain higher cash to avoid the financial pressures faced if their loans fail to be extended. Probability of Financial Distress has a significant effect on cash holding, when companies face financial distress it will cause companies to hold more cash and vice versa.
