Abstract

Hemoglobin functions to transport all oxygen from the lungs to the tissue cells. Hemoglobin contains iron and is still present in red blood cells. In pregnant women hemoglobin levels are often abnormal. According to PMK RI No. 97 of 2014 concerning health services, it stipulates that pregnant women are checked for hemoglobin at least once in the first trimester and once in the third trimester. This is done to determine the condition of pregnant women during pregnancy. Low hemoglobin levels cause anemia. Anemia in pregnant women can affect the process of fetal growth and development in the womb. The purpose of this study was to determine the hemoglobin level between trimesters in pregnant women at the Jatilawang Health Center, Banyumas Regency in 2020. The research criteria was a descriptive study using a retrospective time series design using secondary data. The results of inter-trimester hemoglobin levels in pregnant women at the Jatilawang Health Center, Banyumas Regency in 2020 are in the first trimester 40% normal hemoglobin levels and 60% abnormal hemoglobin levels, in the second trimester hemoglobin levels are 72% normal and 28% hemoglobin levels are not normal, in the second trimester the hemoglobin levels are normal and 28% are abnormal. III 96% normal hemoglobin level and 4% abnormal hemoglobin level. Inter-trimester hemoglobin levels in pregnant women at the Jatilawang Health Center, Banyumas Regency in 2020 tend to be higher based on trimesters I, II and III.

Abstract

Trigycerides are the main lipid component in food intake, which is about 98% of total lipids and the remaining 2% consists of phospholipids and cholesterol. Triglycerides are present in adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, liver, lungs, and intestines to  provide energy in metabolic processes. Who estimates about 1 bilion individuals are overweight and about 300 milion individuals are defined as obese, normal triglyceride levels usually do not exceed 150 mg/dl, if triglyceride levels increase by more than 200 mg/dl then called hypertriglyceridemia. The research aims to determine the difference in triglceride levels using serum and plasma EDTA conducted at the Center For Health Laboratories (BBLK) Palembang. The type of research used is cross Sectional with research designintact group comparison. The sample consisted of 30 serums and 30 plasma EDTA taken from 30 respondents. Research is carried out starting from the preparation of patients, taking examination materials, processing of examination materials, analysis and results of research. The average levels of triglyceride examination using serum and plasma were obtained consecutively at 0.91 mmol/L and 0.83 mmol/L. Mann Whitney test results found that the significant value was p = 0.240. The p value obtained is p0.05. The results can be concluded that there is no difference in examination of triglyceride levels using serum and plasma EDTA.

Abstract

Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus are about 90% of all cases of DM in the world. Type 2 diabetes is caused by the body's inability to respond properly to insulin or is called insulin resistance. Insulin resistance causes hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia which results in decreased function of uric acid excretion in the kidney tubules, and causes an increase in uric acid in the blood or hyperuricemia. This type of research is descriptive, with a cross sectional approach in May for 5 days from May 17 to May 21 2019. The research sample is type 2 DM outpatients, at Dr. Hospital. Adhyatma MPH consisted of 24 people who were taken based on total sampling who agreed to the informed consent, were over 20 years old, had no history of gout, and fasted for 10-12 hours. The purpose of this study was to determine the uric acid levels of type 2 DM outpatients based on gender, age, and blood pressure at Dr. Hospital. Adhyatma MPH. The results showed that normal uric acid levels in type 2 DM outpatients were 14 people (58.3%) and hyperuricemia 10 people (41.6%). 7 patients (29%) each had normal urate levels. The highest normal uric acid levels were in patients aged over 55 years as many as 9 people (37.5%) and 10 people with hypertension (41.7%). The most hyperuricemia occurred in 6 female patients (25%), 6 patients over 55 years old (25%) and 6 patients with hypertension (25%).

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an acute infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. This virus is transmitted by mosquitoes from the genus Aedes, for example Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Patients who are infected will have symptoms in the form of a mild to high fever, accompanied by headaches, pain in the eyes, muscles and joints, and spontaneous bleeding. DHF in Indonesia, has become a public health problem for the last 45 years since 1968. These cases are spread across 33 provinces and in 436 districts / cities out of 497 districts / cities (88%) in Indonesia. The number of people with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) tends to increase. The laboratory chooses to use a blood cell counter or a hematology analyzer to count the patient's blood cell count. The results of laboratory examinations with platelet counts in dengue fever patients were obtained 19 (14.84%) samples of patients with platelets d below 100,000 per micrometer (mcL) from 128 patients from January to March 2019. With 2 days of fever patients were 44 people. , 37 patients had fever for 4 days, and 5 fever patients were 47, in normal numbers and brought to a normal range of 150,000-400,000/ mmᶾ.

Abstract

Deparaffinization is a stage before the staining process to remove/dissolve paraffin so that the absorption of color in tissue preparations is maximized. Deparaffinization is usually carried out using xylol and toluol. Xylol has toxic effects including acute neurotoxicity, heart and kidney damage, hepatotoxicity, fatal blood dyscrasias, skin erythema, dry skin, peeling skin, and also has a carcinogenic effect. The toxicity effect of olive oil is lower than that of xylol. Oils that have non-polar properties can remove the remaining paraffin contained in the tissue. The purpose of this study was to determine the microscopic appearance of the kidney tissue preparations of mice deparaffinized with olive oil on hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining. The type of research used is experimental research which is analyzed with a descriptive approach. The results of the assessment of preparations deparaffinized with xylol in 80 visual fields obtained 100% good preparations and preparations deparaffinized with olive oil in 80 visual fields obtained 0% poor preparations, 11.3% poor preparations, and 88.7% good preparation. So it can be said that better results are found in the microscopic picture of the kidney preparations of mice (Mus musculus) deparaffinized with xylol.

Abstract

Health problems are affected by several factors, including lifestyle, diet, work environment factors, exercise, and stress. Changes in lifestyle can lead to an increase in the prevalence of degenerative diseases such as coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity, and high blood pressure. Risk factors that will occur due to increasing age include blood circulation disorders such as hypertension, blood vessel disorders, DM, and disorders of the joints. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between blood glucose levels and blood pressure in prolanis (Chronic Disease Management Program) members. The type and design of this study used an Analytical Observational design and a Cross Sectional design. The population in this study was 71 people with a sample of 35 respondents. The data in this study were secondary data obtained from data on blood glucose levels and blood pressure of prolanis members of the Somagede Public Health Care Center. The results of statistical tests showed that 11 people (31%) had high blood glucose levels, 18 people (52%) had normal blood glucose levels, and 6 people (17%) had low blood glucose levels. In addition, of these respondents, it was found that 11 people (31%) had high blood pressure, 24 people (63%) had normal blood pressure, and 2 people (6%) had low blood pressure. The analysis with the Pearson test showed that the value of p = 0.728, which means that H0 was accepted. Thus, there is no relationship between glucose levels and blood pressure in Prolanis members of the Somagede Public Health Care Center, Banyumas Regency. The null correlation between blood pressure and glucose levels might be because of the respondents' ability to control glucose levels, hence there are no complications that can increase blood pressure values.

Abstract

Histopathological examination is a routine examination process for each tissue in the anatomic pathology laboratory. The stages in making histology preparations are fixation stages. The type of solution that can be used as a fixative solution other than 10% NBF is Carnoy's solution. Carnoy's solution is a fixative solution with a relatively fast fixation process of about 1-4 hours. The advantages of Carnoy's solution can lyse erythrocytes and dissolve lipids, have the ability to maintain cell nuclei, and retain glycogen. The purpose of this study was to determine the histology of the liver tissue preparations of mice (Mus Musculus) which were fixed using Carnoy's solution with time variations of 4 hours, 8 hours, and 12 hours. This is an observational research with descriptive research design criteria. The results of the histology of the liver tissue preparations of mice (Mus Musculus) which were fixed using the 10% NBF solution group obtained 100% good preparations. In the Carnoy solution group with a time of 4 hours, it gave 2.2% results of poor preparations and 97.78% of good preparations. While the treatment group with Carnoy's solution with a time of 8 hours obtained as many as 11.11% of preparations that were not good and 88.89% of good preparations. and in the Carnoy solution group with a time of 12 hours, there were 44.44% of the poor preparations and 55.56% of the good preparations.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases that occur due to abnormalities in insulin secretion and/or insulin action. In type 2 diabetes mellitus there is a decrease in glucose absorption by the body due to insulin resistance. Energy metabolism from glucose is processed through the synthesis of fatty acids in the liver (cytosol). The process that occurs continuously causes the accumulation of lipids in the liver or "fatty liver" so it is necessary to check the levels of transaminase enzymes which include SGOT and SGPT. The purpose of this study was to analyze the levels of SGOT and SGPT enzymes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus using the analytical observational method. The results of the examination of SGOT and SGPT levels from 30 patients who were taken randomly at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya will be analyzed with bar graphs and diagrams. Of 30 random samples, 20 samples (66.67%) had SGOT levels above the normal value, and 12 samples (40%) had SGPT with results above normal values. This study concludes that there is an increase in the levels of SGOT and SGPT enzymes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
