Abstract

ABSTRACTThe service quality felt by customers can be demonstrated even from the first timethe customer enters the restaurant area. This is the main key for customers to begin toassess whether the service in the destination restaurant is in accordance with service qualitystandards or not. As the culinary business grows, of course the owners must pay attention tothe quality of services so they don't compete. One of the developing culinary restaurants,Noodles X is one of the business people who helped enliven the Indonesian culinary market.The focus of this study is choosing aspects of hospitality, the selection of aspects ofhospitality is considered the first communication pattern received by customers, even whenentering the restaurant area. The method used in this study is observation. The observationdesign used is natural setting, participant observation and the method of recording using arating scale. The choice of using the rating scale method because of the observed behavior,researchers want to know the degree of quality of the behavior itself. Implementation ofobservations is divided into 30 days, with the calculation of the average results ofobservations at the weekend and the average observation results on weekday. Based onobservations made, it can be concluded that the level of friendliness in the communicationpractices of restaurant noodle employees is included in the class "very well". There areinteresting findings between the acquisition of friendliness level scores on weekdays and onweekends. Abstract

ABSTRACTIn the making of an animation work there are various forms of style, one of them is a silhouette animation. Silhouette animation become popular because of an animator and a German director named Lotte Reiniger. In the creation of her work she uses the technique of compositing manually by her hands and compose the layer to be beautiful by stacking several layers. The Monster of The Dark Valley works using compositing techniques that adapt from the technique of Lotte Reiniger?s. With a story that is a fictional, Monster of The Dark Valley style fits the Lotte Reiniger?s style animation that mostly story of fairy tales. The Monster of The Dark Valley is a short 4-minute animated film that tells of a child with a different physique then the most, so he avoided by the peoples of his village. The creation of this work is also supported by the study of existing works that inspired the author in creating this work, and in it?s implementation the study has been used. Compositor plays a role in combining a good layer with the composition object, color, and size of elements that previously created in the animation production stage. Lotte Reiniger?s style compositing technique has been implemented in making Monster Of The Dark Valley works by stacking multiple layers and creating a foreground layers. Lotte Reiniger?s compositing techniquestyle strongly supports the creation of Monster of The Dark Valley so that the work becomes beautiful, interesting and has a balanced composition.Kata Kunci: Animasi Silhouette, Lotte Reiniger, Compositing

Abstract

ABSTRACTMass media involvemet in reporting a social conflict event is an inevatibility. It is due to the fact the conflict is a news value, despite of that other news value elemets are proximity, actuality, factuality, human interest and popularity. Presenting news related to a conflict event by related mass media, it brings logical consequence per se towards the position or alignment of the mass media institution against the ongoing domain of the conflict. This article is the study result of the writer applying literature study method in analyzing the involvement of online mass media in reporting social conflict event. The writer writes that there are several interesting points occured when online mass media reporting a social conflict. First, online mass media tends to prioritize actuality in delivering information to public despite of news accuracy (factuality). Second, actuality in delivering news to public will cause reporting news bias. Third, online mass media tends to perform alignment by becoming story teller of a social confliect and plays its role as conflict intensifier and conflict diminisher.Keywords: Online Mass Media, Social Conflict, Mass Media Alignment, Reporting

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated because lately Indonesia hoax information is very developed in Indonesia so that hoaxes can trigger conflict in people who are active in using Social Media, especially teenagers, Teenagers are very active using social media such as Instagram, Tweeter, Facebook, and Whatsaap Group and Other social media This study aims to determine how much influence hoax information has on the level of conflict in adolescents on social media. This study uses an explanatory quantitative method using a population of adolescents in West Jakarta totaling 97 Respondents of Variable X this study uses concepts related to information Hoax and the concept of conflict is used to measure the variable Y. This study found that there was a significant effect on variable X namely Hoax information on Y variable is conflict in adolescents on social media. The hoax information variable contains more fanaticism and the spread of ideology because this indicator is in a very high category, while the variebles of conflict between personal and intra-personal conflict indicators are higher, and fanaticism and ideological conflict variables are the causes of conflict which are in the high category , so that this study concludes the need for a legal arrangement that regulates content spread in social media and the need for literacy for adolescents as a strategy to reduce adolescent conflict on social media because of hoaxes that cause conflict in adolescents.Keywords: Hoax, Social Media, Conflict, Youth

Instead, FIFA can also press the government of a country to ensure it does not intervene.The majority of the discussion regarding the powers of FIFA more dominant from the perspective of law. This paper offers a conceptual discussion from the viewpoint of science communication. The selected viewpoint is critical approach to organizational communication. Using the concept of Stan Deetz, concluded that what FIFA is a form of colonization of an organization against the parties that are outside the organization. Abstract

Di banyak tempat, perempuan masih mendapatkan hak yang sepantasnya. Mereka dibatasi oleh adanya peraturan dalam budaya yang mereka anut sehari-hari. Keterbatasan tersebut menghambat kesempatan perempuan untuk memiliki pengalaman, pengetahuan dan aktualitas diri. Berbagai media telah menunjukkan gambaran kondisi tersebut dan film merupakan salah satu contoh yang bagus. Film English Vinglish memperlihatkan kehidupan perempuan India yang masih disibukkan dengan kegiatan domestik sehingga kebebasan dan pengetahuannya terbatas. Film ini dapat dikaji menggunakan beberapa pendekatan komunikasi antar budaya seperti teori muted group, stereotip, bahasa dan sebagainya. Sehingga dapat diketahui solusi yang baik untuk mengatasi adanya keterbatasan perempuan yang menghambat interaksinya dalam komunikasi khususnya komunikasi antar budaya.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe standardization of the rules imposed strictly by Balai Pustaka in the Dutchcolonial era made it difficult for novel authors to convey messages that smelled ofResistance to the Dutch government. Novel Salah Asuhan written by Abdoel Moeis is oneof the novels published by the Balai Pustaka era, although it is often said that BalaiPustaka writers reinforce romance, but this research aims to see the forms of indigenousresistance to the colonial parties contained in the Salah Asuhan novel. The study usesconcepts in postcolonial theory namely mimicry and resistance which are used asspectacles of analysis, while the method used is a qualitative research method. Theprocedure in this method is to collect descriptive data in the form of words or events thatcan be observed. The data source in this study is a document. The document in questionis the novel Salah Asuhan by Abdoel Moeis published by Balai Pustaka in 1995. Researchfindings show that there are two forms of resistance used against the Dutch colonial.First, soft resistance or mimicry towards Dutch-style culture and knowledge systems,such as education, use of language, furniture, clothing, work, and marrying Westerners.The second resistance is absolute / firm resistance, shown in the rejection of Dutchcolonial practices which appear in the analogy of the Bird of the Garudadikotomibetween urban space (Batavia) and village (Padang) which represents modern / Westernand traditional / indigenous views.Keywords: Salah Asuhan Novel, Balai Pustaka, Resistance, Mimicry

ABSTRACTBoyolali is a regency located in Central Java Province. Boyolali district is one of the districts with the largest milk producers in Java. Features with a duration of 20 minutes 20 seconds selected so that people who want to know more about information from Boyolali district can be realized. The information presented includes the latest icons from Boyolali, Cattle Farm until Processing of milk to be cheese, Regional Arts and various tourist attractions not yet widely known by many people.To support this feature program to be more interesting and comfortable witnessed by the audience, need good and appropriate editing in accordance with the initial goal of the continuity. With guidelines to optimize the continuity of images in order to obtain continuity of the image, embodied with cutting, transition, coloring, masking, titling and time-lapse techniques in these Boyolali Tersenyum features found in each sequence and scene. Coupled with the backsound alignment in accordance with the mood of the picture and the script read by the narrator who increasingly invites the audience to understand the information.This Boyolali Tersenyum features produce an audio visual works an interesting, informative and able to give its own impression to the audience. Abstract

Abstract"Istirahatlah Kata-Kata" tells the story of Wiji Thukul in his fugitive time in Pontianak. During his escape in Pontianak, Wiji felt anxious, scared and worried by his status. Initially, he isolates himself from the outside. Meanwhile, his wife and children had to face intimidation from agency to find out his whereabouts. This film criticize the ideology show in some dialogues and visual displays. This research analyse some scenes in the movie using semiotic approach to search the critique of ideology signified and the series of signs that construct the film, like the iconic signs, linguistic signs and musical signs.The result showed that this film uses iconic signs such as images, original sound like animal sounds at night, the sound of children crying, the sound of boots, and musical illustrations to reinforce the narrative story. This film also uses a linguistic signs as a symbolic dialogue, monologue, subtitle, and narration. Musical signs obtained from the poetry musical, verbal signs, and narrative story to give the historical background. Cinematic coded obtained by the use of voice over, motion pictures, and montage. This cinematic code consists of cinematographic plan code that is obtained through the structure of image, like image captures, angle shots, and long shots. The time code obtained from narrative films, the order time, and duration. Montage code obtained from editing and transitions. Shooting angle Code obtained through shooting distance and shooting angle. Abstract

AbstractVisual works are not only autonomous objects, stand alone and interpreted without involving other elements who have an association with them. Images as visual works can be interpreted as a sign, more broadly, the sign is part of a sign system where its existence becomes part of a wider sign system. Representation is the embodiment of the express or implied meaning of each attribute inherent in the visual appearance of an image. The meaning that gives rise to a representation is absolutely necessary for other texts that are interwoven and able to be a benchmark in constructing a representation. These visual texts are the main guideline in the semiotic analysis process that leads to the construction of representation. Sultan Hamengku Buwono for Javanese people is not only seen as a ruler over a region, but more than that. Referring to the visual display that was officially released by the Yogyakarta Palace, the King of Mataram was presented as a role model and power to lead his people towards a balance of body and soul. The king of Mataram, as an entity, was visually raised to the with attributes that were considered capable of representing his function as ruler.Broadly speaking, the discussion in the construction of Sultan Hamengku Buwono's representation will be discussed through three focus discussions.
