Abstract

AbstractFilm is one mass media that produces massively popular culture. Film can be a mass media that effectively conveys messages to the public. As a creative product that the public interest, the film is able to introduce Indonesian culture to the world. The income of the film industry can contribute greatly to the state income. The condition of the film industry in Indonesia is still strongly influenced by imported films that have better narrative and cinematic qualities than domestically made films. To be in control of the domestic film industry, there needs to be an improvement in order to compete in the international film industry. This study describes the weaknesses of the Indonesian film industry from the aspects of production, distribution, exhibition and consumption. In addition to the lack of quality Indonesian film technically, there needs to be an evaluation and improvement of the distribution system in order to distribute the film widely even throughout the world. The lack of number of cinema screens in Indonesia is also a major factor in blocking access to watch so that the distribution of cinema facilities to all over the country is needed in the short-term future. To improve the skills of human resources requires the education of film disciplines that support the competence of each field. The tastes and needs of the audience also need to be noted so that the film producers can continue to produce quality and varied films. Government support is needed for the Indonesian film industry to compete with overseas so as to promote the film as a creative economic product and represent the image of Indonesian culture in the international film industry.Keywords: film, industry, production, media, creative.

Abstract

Partai politik, dan media adalah suatu kesatuan yang tak dapat terpisahkan. Setiap partai politik menyadari, kampanye tidak akan efektif tanpa bantuan media, karena sifat media yang ?menjangkau secara luas kepada masyarakat. Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia-pun menyadari hal tersebut dan mengeluarkan peraturan terkait dengan penyelenggaraan pemilu legislatif pada tahun 2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Strategi pemantauan berita pemilu Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta pada Pemilu 2014 yang akan membahas mengenai tahapan pemantauan dan sistem kerja Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia pada pemantauan Pemilu. Penelitian ini berfokus pada laporan pemantauan iklan, dan berita politik di stasiun televisi dan radio lokal di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Deskriptif ?Kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pemantauan yang diterapkan oleh KPID DIY sangat efektif untuk menganalisis konten media, karena aplikasi pemantauan diagnostik yang dilakukan oleh KPID DIY. Di sisi lain, pemantauan ini secara gamblang dapat menjadi bahan untuk review dan laporan kepada Komisi Pemilihan Umum dan sebagai bahan untuk pembuatan sanksi kepada media yang melanggar ketentuan undang undang Pemilu. Sebagaimana banyak aktor politik yang berafiliasi atau terafiliasikan dengan media elektronik dan cetak.Terbitnya regulasi penyiaran juga menjadi cermin atas suksesnya strategi pemantauan ini. Secara prospektif, pemantauan diagnostik ini memiliki masa depan yang cerah untuk memantau kegiatan kegiatan politik di seluruh media di tanah air.

ABSTRACTThe digital age allows anyone to easily access the internet through a smartphoneat any time and place. Young people who consider the phase are still in the process ofcharacter formation, relatively open to changes from the outside tend to be dynamic.The conception of young people who are active, dynamic and sensitive to changes in thisstudy above discussion of young people who use smartphones not only supportscommunication, but also helps other things that can be interpreted in accordance withcultural cooperation that produces new cultural meaning. This study aims to gain anunderstanding of the meaning of smartphones for its users, namely young people inKarawang. Abstract

AbstractCases of violence against children receive great attention in media. Such cases often occur in people's lives and their impact is large. The media reported this so that many people pay attention to children's problems. However, the report of this case mostly delivered sensationally so that it can attract readers. The research method used is a case study analysis by taking case examples from online news articles on Kompas.com and Sindonews.com. The theory used is online journalism, law and ethics in online media refers to the guidelines of cyber media coverage, and journalistic ethics. The results of the study show that (1) the issue of violence against children is an interesting issue for the media because the legal umbrella for child protection already exists but violence is increasing, (2) Media coverage related to the cases of violence only centers on the sadism of the perpetrators, the exploitation of the victim's body, and the chronology of events in language that is too vulgar. (3) The media has a role to watch over and do the social control to government for implementation of fulfillment of child protection guarantees (4) The media adheres to the guidelines on cyber media reporting and journalistic code of ethics in reporting child abuse cases.Keywords: news, online media, journalistic code of ethics, child abuse

Abstract

AbstractUniversitas Islam Indonesia (UII) is the oldest and the largest Islamic university in Yogyakarta (DIY), which in early 2017 was in crisis. The crisis caused by the death of three students who attend pendidikan dasarunit kegiatan mahasiswa (UKM) mahasiswa pecinta alam (Mapala) UNISI. The research?s goal is to determine the UII?s communication activities to response the crisis. This research used qualitative content analysis using newspaper like Harian Jogja, Kedaulatan Raykat and media releases on the official website of UII. Crisis management with Three-Stage Approach is used as the theory. The results showed that the communication activities in the stage of crisis event (crisis) are (1) established a crisis center (crisis team) and an internal investigation team;(2) delivereda formal statement and create releases; (3) apology and responsibility to the victims; (4) closed Mapala UNISI organizations and activities; (5) The rector and vice rector III resigned from the management (6) let the police took the perpetrator and gave sanctions to students who involved and (7) updated the UII?s website (www.uii.ac.id) with positive press and remove news / releases about Mapala UNISI.Keywords: crisis, management, UII

Abstract

Film 3 Alif Lam Mim adalah tercatat sebagai film laga futuristik pertama di Indonesia dengan genre action, drama, dan religi. Film 3 Alif Lam Mim juga merupakan film bertema nasionalisme, dimana nilai-nilai nasionalisme digambarkan dalam pengabdian terhadap negara dan keberanian dalam menghancurkan ancaman bagi negara. Penelitian ini bertujuan ?untuk mengetahui ?tanda-tanda ?yang ?merepresentasikan ?nasionalisme ?dan ?pesan?pesan yang ?bermakna ?nasionalisme ?dalam ?film ?3 Alif Lam Mim. ?Penelitian ?ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif berdasarkan ?pada teori Semiotika Roland Barthes yang menganalisis menggunakan dua pemaknaan bertingkat, ?yaitu ?makna ?denotasi ?dan ?makna ?konotasi. ?Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna denotasi ?film ?3 Alif Lam Mim menceritakan pengabdian terhadap negara, patuh terhadap negara, keberanian dalam membela kebenaran, memerangi musuh negara serta menghancurkan segala ancaman negara sesuai dengan kemampuan. Secara konotasi secara umum bahwa ancaman dan musuh negara tidak boleh dibiarkan berkembang, perintah negara tidak boleh dilawan serta negara tidak boleh dibiarkan mendapatkan ancaman dari kriminal dan terorisme. Representasi nasionalisme dalam film ini diwujudkan dalam hal menempatkan persatuan dan kesatuan, kepentingan dan keselamatan bangsa dan negara di atas kepentingan pribadi atau golongan; menunjukkan sikap rela berkorban demi kepentingan bangsa dan negara; ?dan berani membela kebenaran dan keadilan.

Abstract

AbstractOn the support of embodiment of livable Surabaya, the endeavors do not merely come from the government control. Inhabitants of Surabaya are present to encourage improvement and sovereignty of their city. In this case, there is one independent organization who constantly and actively empower volunteerism and social action of #stopfoodwaste, named Garda Pangan. Garda Pangan has a mission to stop food waste and to process leftovers to be worth-eating food, yet to help others in need. There are two main problems in this research, firstly I want to examine how does mediatization come through Garda Pangan programs related to #stopfoodwaste and secondly how does mediatization bring the participatory culture through digital praxis. I put a case study using theory of mediatization to scrutiny that Garda Pangan addresses intersection of issues. The result of this research is that digital praxis which intertwined with offline practices can bring discourse co-creating. It also delivers a stronger participatory culture, not only limited by main producer, but also supported the co-players (co-creators). Abstract

ABSTRACTThe widespread of religious acts and movement have saturated the space of mass media in the Regional Election 2017 campaign event background. Trigerred by blasphemy suspect of a DKI Jakarta Regional Election?s candidate, ended up with serial demonstration and Islamic praying services on 4 November 2016 and 2 December 2016. Mass media entitled ?peaceful act? the first act, and ?super peaceful act? the second act. The peace depiction had been a very emphasized topic in their coverage. The peace reality media has built can not be taken away from its social and political context that happen to be the real background. Eriyanto (2002: 17) explained that reality do not happen naturally, nor revealed by God, it is shaped and constructed. Media put it in a frame, and the frame it self has certain meaning, give specific sense to the audience, wether it has significant point or not. While Luhmann (2000) asserted there are two realities, the first is the real world, and the second is reality in mass media, this has been called double reality. Mass media certainly has significant role to construct the doble reality in the dissemination of information. This dissemination are operated in a close, autopoietic system that neglected outer influence. MetroTV, one of those media that framed religious act as ?peaceful act? has particular historical and political story, that is negative evaluation from the mass toward news with religious contains pointed to be not pro-Islam. When a media captured in its own fear of negative evaluation, they tend to construct reality to save its face. Abstract

ABSTRACTOnline media is familiar in everyday life. In this modern era, online media has also grown increasingly rampant in Indonesia. Almost every individual did not escape his daily using online media. Online media can be regarded also as a medium of communication used in the best-selling success factors in the communication process. In this study, success in question is create a brand image of a product of SMEs. One area of successful UKM and succeeded thanks to online media are Egyptian Cream. Egyptian Cream is a skincare brand that was founded in June 2010 by Restiani Nur Fauzi. The concept of products offered by the Egyptian herbal skincare cream is made from bees, such as honey, royal jelly, propolis and beeswax. The main products offered in this line of business is Egyptian Magic Cream directly imported from Washington DC. As the first hand of the producer, quickly mastered the Egyptian Cream Egyptian Magic Cream market in Indonesia. This is a good business slit on the sidelines of facial whitening products are popping up when it is considered by people who want herbal skin care products are safe. In this study, researchers used a qualitative approach with case study method. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis technique used is perseverance observation, triangulation of data, and adequacy referential. The results of this study indicate that the use of online media to the Egyptian Cream is highly optimized, this business line has been using online media to 9 types. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis documentary about the life of Ketoprak Tobong Kelana Bhakti Budaya inYogyakarta. This group is in a critical condition like has minimize income from spectatorsand the actors receive low wages. The main message in this documentary is thededication and love of actors and spectators in an effort to preserve Tobong KelanaBhakti Budaya Ketoprak. Observational style was chosen as the style of deliveringmessages by showing the daily life of Ketoprak Tobong Kelana Bhakti Budaya and theirinteractions with the audience. The script writer strengthens the dramatic element byusing the Dramatik Tension Brand Mathews structure that explains the journey of theKetoprak Tobong Kelana Bhakti Budaya story by having its own emphasis or tension(tension) in each part of the story. This conflict refers to the problem being discussed orfaced. A good arrangement of dramatic tension will prevent it from a monotonous andtedious situation. Script writer use special-general structures using thematic grooves.Futhermore, the visual is sodramatic so that the audience feels curious and reluctantuntil the end of this documentary.Keywords: Ketoprak Tobong, Observational, Dramatical Tension
