Abstract

AbstractThis article discusses the form and function of Dol music in Bengkulu city society. This study uses qualitative methods, data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Dol music is an important element integrated in the Tabot ritual procession in the city of Bengkulu. 3 Dol music reporters in carrying out Tabot rituals, namely tamatam, swena, and sweri. The role of Dol music in the procession is to express the musical spirit of ritua tabot namely struggle, war and sadness. The existence of Dol music performance both in the context of Tabot rituals, as well as its development outside the Tabot event contest, has important values and functions for the community namely; 1) Functioning as entertainment for the community, 2) The function of emotional disclosure, seen from the emotional overflow of players in the ?beruji Dol? 3) functions as a ratification of social institutions, in this case Dol music is an important requirement in the Tabot ceremony, 4) symbolic function, as a symbol manifested through musical aspects expressing sadness or the spirit of warfare, 5) the function of community integration, uniting the community in togetherness and being involved in the wisdom of the Tabot ceremony, and 6) the function of cultural continuity; the existence of Dol music as a form of effort to preserve and strengthen the cultural identity of the people of Bengkulu city.Keywords : Dol music, Tabot Rital, Form, FunctionAbstractArtikel ini membahas tentang bentuk dan fungsi musik Dol dalam kehidupan masyarakat kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Permasalahan dibahas melalui deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa musik Dol merupakan unsur penting yang terintegrasi dalam prosesi upacara Tabot di kota Bengkulu. Terdapat 3 reportoar musik Dol dalam pelaksanaan upacara Tabot yakni tamatam, swena, dan sweri. Adapun  peran musik Dol pada prosesi tersebut adalah mengekspresikan secara musikal spirit dari upacara yakni perjuangan, perperangan dan kesedihan. Keberadaan seni pertunjukan musik Dol baik dalam konteks ritual Tabot, maupun perkembangnganya diluar kontes uapacara Tabot, memiliki nilai dan fungsi penting bagi masyarakatnya yakni; 1) Berfungsi Sebagai hiburan bagi masyarakat, 2)Fungsi pengungkapan emosional, terlihat dari peluapan emosional pemain pada prosesi ?beruji Dol? 3) berfungsi sebagai pengesah lembaga sosial, dalam hal ini musik Dol merupakan syarat penting dalam upacara Tabot, 4) fungsi perlambangan, sebagai simbol yang diwujudkan melalui aspek musikal yang mengekspresikan kesedihan ataupun spirit perperangan, 5) fungsi pengintegrasian masyarakat, menyatukan masyarakat dalam kebersamaan dan terlibat dalam hikmatnya upacara Tabot, dan 6) fungsi kesenambungan budaya; eksistensi musik Dol sebagai bentuk usaha pelestarian dan penguatan idenitas budaya masyarakat kota Bengkulu.Kata kunci : Musik Dol, upacara Tabot, Bentuk, Fungsi

Abstract

AbstractStructuralism for its adherents assumes that in humans there is a basic ability inherited genetically, so that this ability exists in all normal humans, namely the ability to structure, to structure, construct a structure, or attach a certain structure to the symptoms that it faces . The above statement assumes that every human being has the ability to create works of art from existing phenomena and is able to analyze the phenomena or phenomena with a structured method. Structural theory of language above that makes Levi-Strauss managed to see something behind the manifestation of human work. A work of art is a representation of students seeing phenomena or issues in their environment. This phenomenon makes artists feel touched and arouse and tickle their feelings to express it through the medium of art. Behind the manifestation of human work in it contains the value and meaning to be conveyed. These values and meanings have unconsciously shaped someone's ideas or thoughts. Thus it can be said that anything in this world according to Levi-Satruss's view is a system that has structures that govern it. In Structuralism the signifiant order or marker precedes meaning, in other words that talking about the existence of humans is actually not as a subject, on the contrary the existence and structure itself speaks of itself through human speech about existence. Keywords : Structuralism, Phenomenon, Significant, and SymbolsAbstrakStrukturalisme bagi para penganutnya beranggapan bahwa dalam diri manusia terdapat kemampuan dasar yang diwariskan secara genetis, sehingga kemampuan ini ada pada semua manusia yang normal, yaitu kemampuan untuk strukturing, untuk menstruktur, menyusun suatu struktur, atau menempelkan suatu struktur tertentu pada gejala-gejala yang dihadapinya. Pernyataan di atas memiliki asumsi bahwa setiap manusia memiliki kemampuan untuk menciptakan karya seni dari fenomena yang ada dan mampu menganalisis gejala-gejala atau fenomena-fenomena tersebut dengan metode yang terstruktur. Teori struktural bahasa di atas yang membuat levi-Strauss berhasil melihat sesuatu di balik perwujudan karya manusia. Sebuah karya seni merupakan representasi dari siseniman melihat fenomena-fenomena atau isu-isu yang ada di lingkungannya. Fenomena tersebut yang membuat seniman merasa tersentuh dan menggugah serta mengelitik perasaannya untuk mengekspresikannya melalui medium seni. Di balik wujud karya manusia tersebut di dalamnya mengandung nilai dan makna yang hendak di sampaikan. Nilai dan makna tersebut secara tidak sadar telah membentuk ide gagasan atau pemikiran seseorang. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa apapun di dunia ini menurut pandangan Levi-Satruss merupakan sistem yang memiliki struktur-struktur yang mengaturnya. Dalam Strukturalisme tatanan signifiant atau penanda mendahului makna, dengan kata lain bahwa berbicara tentang adanya manusia sebenarnya bukanlah sebagai subjek, sebaliknya adanya dan struktur itu sendiri berbicara tentang dirinya melalui pembicaraan manusia tentang adanya.Kata kunci : Strukturalisme, Fenomena, Signifiant, dan Simbol

Abstract

Dinda Bestari Traditional Dance Studio is a dance studio that teaches traditional dance, dance creation and contemporary dance. The studio also teaches children's dance and opens special classes for children. In this studio, students who are not only children and adolescents, but there are also adults. This research aims to describe the management of Dinda Bestari Traditional Dance Studio, which is domiciled in the City of Palembang, South Sumatra, which implements management functions in all aspects of studio activities including planning , organizing, implementing and controlling. This research applies a qualitative approach. The research subject is myself as the owner, founder and at the same time the manager of this studio. The object of this research is the Dinda Bestari Traditional Dance Studio in Palembang which includes, its background and management system applied. Data collection techniques carried out in three ways, namely participant observe, interview and documentation. In this study using a human instrument that is the researcher himself who acts as an instrument, serves to determine the focus of research, choose informants as sources of data, collect data, assess data quality, analyze data, interpret data, and make conclusions on its findings. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data description and conclusion drawing. The data validity test in this study uses the data triangulation method. The results of this study describe that the Dinda Bestari Traditional Dance Studio uses management functions as (1) planning, (2) organizing, (3) acting (Actuating), and (4) controlling (Controlling).

Abstract

The implementation of Field Experience Practices (PPL) is a routine activity carried out every year by the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP), improving the quality of graduates and as a pre-condition for student teacher candidates for the school environment and gaining teaching experience. In contrast to the previous PPL implementation, the Covid-19 pandemic phenomenon occurred to coincide with the implementation of PPL in 2020. This unusual condition requires executors and other related parties to be wise in responding to this situation. The head of this research aims to find out information and describe the learning of cultural arts with the main subjects of fine arts, music and dance at SMP 35 Negeri Palembang by students participating in PPL during the Covid-19 pandemic, starting from the preparation of learning tools, learning implementation systems and techniques. evaluation. Qualitative is used to answer research questions, the policy of the principal who continues to carry out health protocols according to both central and local government regulations, student PPL participants continue to carry out learning using the application of their choice.

Abstract

The study was conducted aiming to find the aesthetic values that exist in the mosque building ornament in the city of Padang. The development and spirit of changing times has accompanied the development of the Mosque in Padang City, not only in the function and role of the Mosque, but also seen from the model of the mosque building and ornaments attached to the building. To achieve this goal the approach used in this paper is the aesthetic approach, and multi-disciplinary approach. The aesthetic value of mosque building ornaments can be viewed through the quality structures that make up beauty; first, unity; that each element in the mosque's ornament is a unified and mutually supportive unit, summarized in the quality of art consisting of rhythm, lines and shapes. Second, harmony (harmony); placement of motifs on the mosque building shows harmony by considering the balance between the shape of the motif with the field of placement. Third; symmetry; Almost all the ornaments contained in the mosque building contain symmetrical elements in vertical and horizontal forms. Symmetry can be seen in the motif lines and also the building lines themselves. Fourth; balance (balance); Mosque ornaments in the city of Padang, has three types of balance, namely; symmetrical balance, asymmetrical balance, and centering balance. And the fifth resistance (contras); the contrast does not only occur because of differences in the size of the motif, the contrast can also be seen from the shape and color of the ornament attached to the mosque building.

Abstract

This article is the result of a typical Palembang wood carving work. Starting from the increasingly few antiques in the antique gallery owned by Ibu Hj's family. Roswati made him intrigued to grow and develop his business since 1974 and to preserve the carving art furniture in the form of Palembang wood carving. Then continued by a similar craftsman in the Home Industry Q Laquer owned by Mr. Jaja is a typical Palembang wood carving art craftsmanship in Kelurahan 19 Ilir. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the process of making Palembang's unique wood carving arts. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method using data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The types of decoration in the wood carving art are the decoration that characterizes the city of Palembang as from the motifs of plants with golden, black, and red patterns. The variety of wood carving that is applied to handicraft objects is basically a pure decoration, which functions solely to decorate or beautify. The results of typical Palembang carving crafts include decorative cabinets, chairs, tables, wardrobes, frames, and various kinds of furniture. Through this research by examining how Palembang wood carving art in particular the manufacturing process, is expected to contribute to the people of Palembang City in order to develop and preserve these cultural assets.

Abstract

Doodle is an activity that anyone can do it. This scribbling/doodling activity is often referred to as doodle. Lots of people who knowingly or unknowingly ever made a doodle. Doodle can be a beautiful work of art and bring the benefits to those who diligently it. But there is a problem for the doodle maker, it’s the artwork that usually does not have character. That's because lack of information and knowledge about Doodle. Books about doodles are widely circulating in the market, but the problem is the Information & Knowlegde of Doodle Books stiil not available yet. Therefore an Illustration Book Design “Just Do(odle) it!” was created which aims to introduce and provide information and knowledge about doodle for the wider society.

Abstract

The research focused is on bamboo crafts in Nagari Kumanis, Sijunjung Regency, about the use of bamboo material as a potential product using a design strategy. Bamboo production areas in West Sumatra are mostly produced in Sumpur Kudus district in Nagari Tanjung Bonai Aur and Kumanis, Sijunjung Regency. Nagari has a group called Talago Bamboo Crafts. One of the bamboo handicraft centers that has long been developing in West Sumatra is the Tanjung Bonai Aur and Kumanis bamboo crafts. It is known that bamboo crafts in Kumanis nagari are quite unique in terms of technical aspects, but in the aspect of design strategies and market strategies of bamboo products have not been explored properly. So that the economic and production cycle moves in place. Bamboo plantations in West Sumatra belong to communities that are managed independently by the population. Bamboo in the Kumanis nagari community is important by the economic wheel and their economic bamboo efforts as a side job. In fact, Minang residents already have a bamboo garden that is indirectly as a bamboo farmer. This is an opportunity for writers in this design project to provide ideas and design ideas to communities and small industries (homeindustry). In fact, bamboo material has not been specially processed for product design, especially for bamboo product design and Design Strategies. the problem of this research is how to improve, process and utilize bamboo material as one of the development of interior complementary designs and in accordance with market needs and tastes.

Abstract

In an advertisement, sometimes there is a meaning that is not straightforwardly presented. Every product advertisement that uses the product is inseparable from the camera point of view. FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY ON ADVERTISING IN INSTAGRAM examines the relationship between camera placement (angle) in influencing the message conveyed by a product advertisement and how photography is used as visual rhetoric. The study was conducted qualitatively with a film semiotic analysis approach. Data on FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY ON ADVERTISING IN INSTAGRAM is grouped with only 1 structure, namely Visual Structure. It was analyzed diachronic using the signifier and signified views. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the meanings contained in food product advertisements on social media, where Instagram is the media chosen as the sample. This study uses several points of view in its study, namely a close point of view (Close Up), a Medium Viewpoint (Medium Close Up), and a flat point of view (flat lay).

Abstract

Keluhkupan is a traditional tool used by the Daya tribe as the conveyor of information by using the main wood (keluhkupan) and stick (helu) which are hit with hard blows that have different rhythmic patterns from the signs of disaster that exist in each wasp of complaints. among them are fatalities, natural disasters and riots. The three strokes have different sound patterns from dynamics, tempo and rhythm. The people who are believed to beat Keluhkupan are only allowed to be traditional leaders (men only) and those who beat Keluhkupan must really know how the sound patterns of Negu Death, Negu Sasah Bencana and Negu Sasah Huru-hara sound patterns. Negu Death is carried out when a villager dies, traditional leaders beat Keluhkupan from soft to stronger with punches from slowly to faster. Negu Sasah This wasp disaster is carried out if there is a disaster tokah adat hitting Keluhkupan powerfully and quickly. Negu Sasah This wasp riot is a sign that there has been a fight between the traditional leaders hitting Keluhkupan quickly and strongly, indicating haste or Kesasah.
