Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style on employee performance in Lakarsantri District, Surabaya City through work motivation. In this quantitative approach research, the SPSS analysis method is used. The results of the study show that competence and work motivation have an effect on employee performance. Competence and work motivation also have an effect on organizational commitment. In addition, organizational commitment has an effect on employee performance. Thus, competence and work motivation have an effect on employee performance through organizational commitment in Lakarsantri District, Surabaya City

Abstract

The Padang Panjang city government is trying to reduce the stunting rate to 16% in 2023 and 14% in 2024, by strengthening data and determining the focus on reducing stunting rates. This reduction is in support of the National Action Plan for the Acceleration of Reducing Indonesia's Stunting Rate (RAN PASTI) which is planned by the government through the BKKBN. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods to describe in detail the local government's strategy in handling stunting cases in Padang Panjang City. Data was obtained from interviews with informants regarding strategies, influencing factors, and ways to overcome obstacles in reducing stunting rates in Surungan Hill, as well as observations of children affected by stunting and their parents. Observations were carried out on February 28 and March 1 2023. Apart from interviews and observations, the research also used documentation studies of regulations, media information and other relevant secondary data sources. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Padang Panjang city government policies in Bukit Surungan Subdistrict in reducing stunting. The research results show that the implementation of the stunting reduction policy in Bukit Surungan Village by the Padang Panjang City Government shows serious efforts to achieve the standards and targets that have been set. The main challenges include low community participation, limited health workforce, unequal distribution of resources, and lack of coordination between organizations. Efforts to increase the number and capacity of health cadres, improve distribution systems, and better communication and coordination are very necessary. The dedication of implementing agents greatly supports the success of the program, however additional training and incentives are needed to maintain motivation and work effectiveness. External factors such as social, political and economic conditions also influence policy implementation, with city government support and social assistance programs being very important to overcome family economic limitations. Education and counseling involving various parties is needed to increase public awareness and knowledge about the importance of nutrition

Abstract

The researcher's problem is: what motivates the community to become a salted fish manager . How is the socio-economic life of the people of Pantai Indah Koto Jaya Village 2009-2019. The objectives of this research to be achieved are. To explain what encourages the community to become salted fish managers . To explain how the socio-economic life of the people of Pantai Indah Koto Jaya Village 2009-2019. This research uses historical methods consisting of, heuristic, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The collection of relevant sources is carried out through literature studies and field studies. The field study was carried out using the oral history method, namely interviews with several salted fish processors, community leaders, fishermen and several people related to salted fish processing in Pantai Indah, Koto Jaya Village. Furthermore, in addition to criticizing sources, and interpreting, as well as writing / historiography. The results of the study show that, (1) Since 2009 the community has not only worked as fishermen but also as salted fish processors, this salted fish processing aims to increase the economic income of families and the community of Pantai Indah, Koto Jaya Village, (2) Since the existence of salted fish processing, the economy of families and the community of Pantai Indah, Koto Jaya Village has begun to stabilize so that it can meet the family's clothing and food needs and can even send children to school They go to college.

Abstract

This study focuses on the aspect of the form of the beauty myth in the novel Induk Gajah by Ira Gita Sembiring (2023). The analysis was carried out by utilizing Naomi Wolf's feminist theory. The formulation of the problem in this study is: (1) the aspect of intrinsic elements in the novel; (2) the form and influence of the beauty myth in the novel; and (3) recommendations for the results of the discussion as teaching materials for high school level novel texts. This research is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through reading and note- taking techniques. Analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The plot in the novel Induk Gajah by Ira Gita Sembiring is a mixed plot. The female character in the novel is named Ira Gita Sembiring, a fat woman who is 30 years old. The depiction of the setting in the novel includes many places with certain times and conditions. 3 forms of beauty myths were found in the novel, namely: (1) beauty as a male institution, (2) beauty as an exchange system, and (3) beauty objectively and universally. The efforts made by female characters to fight the myth of beauty are by cultivating personal admiration, self-confidence, and ultimately achieving a sense of self-acceptance. The recommendation as a teaching material for novel texts at the high school level in the form of an e-module that will be used for the learning process in the field of Indonesian language in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the vocabulary skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Motoling through the storytelling method. The research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a cycle approach, involving two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting phases. The storytelling method was integrated into English lessons, with simplified stories and vocabulary-focused activities. Pre-tests and post-tests, along with observation checklists and student interviews, were used for data collection. In Cycle 1, students' mean vocabulary scores improved from 63.6 in the pre-test to 74.8 by the end of the cycle, but the success criteria of 75 were not met. Following reflections and adjustments, Cycle 2 showed significant progress, with mean scores rising to 77 in Meeting 1 and 81.2 in Meeting 2. The percentage of students achieving 'good' and 'very good' ratings increased markedly.The storytelling method effectively improved vocabulary acquisition. Adjustments based on Cycle 1’s feedback, such as simplifying stories and allowing more time for vocabulary practice, contributed to the success in Cycle 2. Students engaged more actively with the content, leading to better understanding and retention of vocabulary. The findings suggest that incorporating storytelling in vocabulary instruction can enhance student learning outcomes. Teachers are encouraged to use engaging and interactive methods to improve vocabulary skills, adapting strategies based on student needs and feedback.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of indigenous leadership and tourism-aware work culture on the development of tourist villages in Batu Anjau, Lalan Village, Sijunjung Regency. The research method is quantitative. The number of research respondents was 118 people with a sample of 91 respondents. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire compiled based on a Likert scale. The data analysis technique for this study was descriptive analysis, regression testing, hypothesis testing and data confirmation. Indigenous leaderships and tourism-aware work culture have a positive and significant effect on the development of tourist villages in Batu Anjau, Lalan Village, Sijunjung Regency. Thus, the hypothesis proposed by the researcher was empirically tested because the variables indigenous leaderships and tourism-aware work culture have an effect on the development of tourist villages.

Abstract

Libraries are important institutions that provide access to various sources of information and knowledge, including books, magazines, journals, newspapers, ancient collections, and digital materials such as e-books, e-journals, and databases. The role of libraries is crucial in meeting the intellectual and educational needs of the community. The main purpose of the library is to provide open access and information services to the community, both for educational, research, and recreational purposes. Over time, libraries have developed into institutions that underlie the development of culture and science, including in maintaining ancient collections. The preservation of ancient collections requires serious attention related to factors of age, materials, environmental conditions, and humidity. This study aims to explore strategies, processes, and obstacles in maintaining ancient collections at the Sintong Bingei Library. Through a qualitative approach with case studies, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to understand maintenance practices, challenges faced, and recommendations for future policy improvements. The results of the study lead to an understanding of efforts to maintain ancient cultural heritage in the library environment so that it can be seen by future generations and its authenticity is maintained

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational values contained in the Porongan puppet show, as well as explore the contribution of puppeteer Ki Suwoto Ghozali in developing the art of puppet puppetry in Porongan. The research method used is the ethnographic historical method. The primary source is taken from the biographical records of the puppeteer Ki Suwoto Ghozali in the form of audio and video recordings of puppet performances and strengthened through interviews with students and followers of Ki Suwoto Ghozali. Secondary sources are in the form of analysis of various journal articles and literature books relevant to the topic. The results of the study show that Porongan puppets in addition to functioning as an entertainment art, also contain positive and significant educational values. These values are reflected in the floats, janturan, and prabatilarsa sendhon sessions created by puppeteers. Porongan puppet is able to reflect adaptation to the social and political situation during the old and new order periods. Unique characteristics such as the use of the East Javanese language and the distinctive coloring of Porongan puppets add to the cultural richness contained in the performing arts. This research emphasizes the importance of preserving Porongan puppet puppets as a cultural heritage rich in educational and philosophical values that reflect the identity and local wisdom of the Sidoarjo community, as well as offering a valuable contribution to the art of puppet performances as part of the noble culture of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

Sendang Lele Gentan is one of the tourist attractions that has its own charm in the form of folklore. The story has developed in the lives of the community from generation to generation. This study aims to examine the adaptation carried out by tourism actors in the Sendang Lele tourist attraction after Covid-19. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews, non-participant observation, and literature studies. The results of the study showed that the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a decrease in the number of visitors, requiring tourism actors, especially traders and POKDARWIS, to adapt. Many traders chose to sell at home, sell around, and some even closed their businesses. Through this study, it is hoped that it can provide knowledge to the wider community about the adaptation of tourism actors in the Sendang Lele Gentan tourist attraction after Covid-19.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of discovery learning learning model in history subject at SMA Bhayangkari Porong. The research questions asked are :How is the planning of discovery learning learning model in history subject at SMA Bhayangkari Porong,How is the implementation of discovery learning learning model in history subject at SMA Bhayangkari Porong ,How is the evaluation of the discovery learning learning model in history subjects at Bhayangkari Porong High School. This study found that students' learning outcomes were influenced by the learning model applied by educators and students' learning independence. The use of the discovery learning model is considered to be able to increase students' learning independence, which has an impact on improving their learning outcomes. The application of the discovery learning model is also beneficial for educators, because in addition to acting as a facilitator, educators can understand the learning characteristics of students. Based on the research results, it is known that the discovery learning model and learning independence have a positive influence on students' learning outcomes, and are considered more effective in stimulating students to be more active in learning activities
