Abstract

Student Activity Units (UKM) are student organizations in universities that accommodate various student interests and talents outside of academic activities. UKM serves as a forum for students to develop themselves, channel hobbies, and improve various skills through extracurricular activities. The purpose of this research is to design and build an information system that can simplify the process of accepting cadres in an organization, especially student organizations. This system aims to increase efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in managing applicant data, as well as simplify the selection and recruitment process for UKM members. The presence of this application will be very helpful in serving the registration of every student who is interested in becoming a prospective member without having to visit each UKM and can reduce the cost of procuring paper and stationery as well as time and energy. This UKM member acceptance application will be built with web-based software and implemented online, where students can view information and the registration agenda and the selection schedule for each organization. In addition, each committee unit can monitor the progress of each prospective participant who registers and can also view the detailed profile of each prospective participant. This application was developed using the PHP programming language supported by the Bootstrap framework, which provides an excellent and flexible experience when accessed on today's smartphones. The system flow design uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Design Thinking Model. This research uses a waterfall method approach in system development, and the results are expected to help every UKM administrator serve prospective participants more easily, effectively, and efficiently.

Abstract

In line with the advancement of information technology, Bengkel Majulapan has started to adopt web-based applications to enhance operational efficiency and service quality. Previously, the service booking process, spare part management, and technician scheduling were carried out manually, often resulting in errors and a lack of transparency. To overcome these problems, this study designs a web-based transaction system using the Extreme Programming (XP) method. XP was chosen for its fast development cycle and flexibility to adapt to changes. The system is built using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, with Firebase used for authentication, real-time database, and notification features. The application allows users to book services, manage spare parts, and receive notifications, which can be accessed anytime and anywhere. This system aims to improve the transparency, accuracy, and efficiency of transaction processes within the workshop. The development stages include planning, designing user stories, system development, testing, and deployment. The results showed that the implementation of the system increased booking accuracy, reduced manual errors, and improved customer satisfaction based on feedback and trial use. With this system in place, it is expected that Majulapan Workshop's operational performance becomes more efficient and effective.

Abstract

The Facilities and Infrastructure Unit at Banten Jaya University (UNBAJA) plays a crucial role in supporting the institution’s operational and academic excellence. As the university grows, the need for efficient, accurate, and technology-driven systems becomes increasingly important, particularly in managing resources such as rooms, goods, and vehicles. Currently, the loan system for these assets is still conducted manually, relying on inventory logbooks and Microsoft Office tools. This conventional method often results in data redundancy, errors in data entry, and frequent conflicts in scheduling due to lack of real-time updates and validation mechanisms. To address these challenges, this research focuses on developing a web-based loan system designed to streamline and digitize the borrowing process for students, lecturers, and administrative staff. The system is built using the Agile development methodology, ensuring iterative feedback and continuous improvement. It utilizes PHP as the core programming language, with Laravel serving as the framework and MySQL as the database engine. The application design is modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to provide clear and structured system architecture. Functionality and reliability are tested through the Black Box testing method, ensuring all system functions perform as expected. The implementation of this system significantly improves the efficiency of the loan process, enhances data accuracy, and facilitates better inventory and usage reporting. Additionally, the system enforces a First In, First Out (FIFO)mechanism, promoting fairness and orderliness in resource distribution. This digital transformation marks a strategic step in aligning UNBAJA’s operations with modern information technology practices.

Abstract

Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) are community-driven business sectors that have demonstrated significant contributions to economic development. They play a crucial role in providing alternative and productive economic activities. This study focuses on the Department of Industry and Trade of Cilegon City, which faces challenges in collecting data on SMIs across districts, compiling records of supervised enterprises, and monitoring their progress. The objective of this research is to design and develop a Management and Data Collection Application for SMIs in Cilegon City to enhance the efficiency of SMI development activities. The application was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, aligned with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The design process employed an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and Unified Modeling Language (UML), specifically a Use Case Diagram. The system is web-based and implemented using the Code Igniter framework, PHP programming language, and a MySQL database.
