Abstract

Employee performance is critical to organizational success, aligning with strategic goals, customer satisfaction, and economic impact. It reflects the outcomes achieved by individuals or groups within an organization, crucial for productivity and sustainability amidst competitive environments. This study investigates the impact of work motivation, leadership, and work discipline on employee performance at PT Petronika, a Dioctyl Phthalate manufacturer that faces challenges linked to motivation, leadership, and discipline. The research aims to analyze these factors among 73 HRD employees using a quantitative approach, specifically Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Primary data, gathered through interviews and questionnaires, is complemented by secondary data from company records and literature. Results indicate that motivation significantly enhances employee performance (p = 0.002), while work discipline also plays a crucial role (p = 0.000). However, leadership shows inconsistent impact on performance (p = 0.784), highlighting complexities in its influence. The study concludes that improving motivation and reinforcing work discipline are essential for enhancing employee performance at PT Petronika. Further research is recommended to delve deeper into the dynamics of leadership within organizational contexts.

Abstract

At the end of April 2024, national car sales for the domestic market were recorded to have decreased by 34.91% compared to the previous month. This negative trend, of course, disrupts company profits, including PT XYZ as a supplier of automotive components in Indonesia. This decline triggered the company to carry out cost reduction activities in the production area. However, in reality there is still a lot of waste during production, one of which is in the 650T injection molding process. The high cycle time of the injection process resulted in the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) target not being achieved. The lean manufacturing approach and DMAIC cycle as a research method aims to identify non-value added activities as well as make improvements by reducing the injection process cycle time from 86 to 57 seconds. These improvements made the OEE target for the 650T injection machine achieved because it increased from 67.9% to 76.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efforts of the Tempe Lake Festival organizers in increasing tourist visits in Wajo Regency through the application of the Pentahelix model. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature study. The results showed that collaborative involvement between the government, academics, media, businesses, and the community proved effective in attracting tourists and promoting local cultural wealth. The Pentahelix model made a significant contribution by strengthening the network of cooperation and synergy between various related parties, thus increasing the overall attractiveness of the festival. Although the festival faced challenges in the form of weather changes that impacted accessibility and event implementation, it is recommended that organizers strengthen infrastructure and add activities that are not dependent on weather conditions. This research is expected to be an important reference in the development of collaboration-based tourism strategies and contribute to the literature related to the Tempe Lake Festival case study as a model of Pentahelix implementation in the tourism industry.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the quality of university web pages in Medan City using two decision-making methods, namely Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS) and Organization Rangement Et Syntest De Relatonnelles (ORESTE). University websites play a very important role in reflecting the identity, vision, and mission of the institution, as well as improving its reputation in today's digital era. However, not all universities in Medan have implemented optimal standards in managing their web pages. Therefore, the results of this study show that based on the COPRAS method, there are 3 top universities, namely Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU) ranked first with the highest score of 100.0000, followed by Quality University with a score of 93.7500 ranked second, and Harapan University Medan with a score of 91.4063 ranked third. Meanwhile, using the ORESTE method also ranked UMSU first with a score of 5.00, followed by Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi in second place, and Santo Thomas Catholic University in third place with a score of 7.17. The similarity of the first rank between the two methods shows consistency in the recognition of the quality of the UMSU web page. However, differences were seen in the second and third rankings, where COPRAS ranked Universitas Quality and Universitas Harapan Medan, while ORESTE ranked Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi and Universitas Katolik Santo Thomas. This difference reflects the different evaluation approaches of the two methods. The findings are expected to assist universities in Medan in developing more effective strategies for improving user experience and strengthening institutional reputation.

Abstract

SPADA UWGM is an e-learning platform used by Widyagama Mahakam University Samarinda (UWGM). This platform has been used since 2020 for the teaching and learning process, both to provide materials, assignments, and quizzes and to take attendance. The use of e-learning is certainly a technological innovation in the field of education. This progress is something that cannot be avoided because it is also strongly supported by the advancement of science, so there needs to be a measurement of the extent to which this e-learning can be accepted from the perception of its users. This study uses the UTAUT method with six variables, namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, use behavior, and Behavioral Intention to measure the level of student acceptance of SPADA UWGM. The questionnaire used was a questionnaire with answer choices in the form of a Likert scale and was processed using the smart PLS application to see the reliability and validity of the questionnaire items and prove the hypothesis between variables with an error tolerance limit of 10%. The results of this study indicate that performance expectancy does not affect behavior intention. While effort expectancy and social influence influence behavior intention. Other things such as facilitation conditions and behavioral intentions influence use behavior. So based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the performance of the SPADA UWGM e-learning system does not influence students' interest in using and utilizing the existing e-learning system. Meanwhile, social influence and a sense of trust that the existing system is easy to use have a significant influence on students' efforts and intentions in using the SPADA UWGM e-learning system. Other things such as the condition of campus facilities in supporting the use of the system have an influence on students' seriousness in using the e-learning system, which means that the better the facilities, the more students' motivation will increase in utilizing SPADA UWGM sustainably.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with a population of around two hundred million people, ranking fourth after the United States in the list of the most populous countries in the world. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the birth rate is projected to reach 4.45 million people in 2022, an increase of 0.22% from the previous year, which was 4.45 million people. According to the 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS), the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia was only 32%. Factors such as maternal health, infant health, and formula milk promotions influence mothers' decisions to use formula milk. The availability of numerous formula brands complicates the decision-making process, with each brand offering different nutritional claims. This study employs the K-Medoids clustering algorithm to analyze factors affecting mothers' choices in formula feeding and the TOPSIS method to determine the most suitable formula for infants aged 0-6 months. The research involves clustering data from a questionnaire distributed to 100 mothers in the Solo Raya region into five categories: maternal health, maternal employment, formula promotion, infant health, and breastfeeding education. Results indicate that maternal health is the most influential factor, followed by infant health, maternal employment, and formula promotion. Lack of breastfeeding education does not significantly influence formula choice. The TOPSIS method, applied to evaluate 10 formula brands against six nutritional criteria, identifies Lactogen 1 as the best formula for infants aged 0-6 months with a highest value of 2.777104826. This data-driven approach provides a clear, systematic method for selecting an appropriate formula based on specific nutritional needs.
