Academic Administration Service management continues to be a major challenge for many Universities or school organizations as Universities are required to provide more services with less resources. Short response times for service are essential to avoid disruptions to University’s day to day activities or Academic Administration Service’s facilities. Managers must regularly assess their manpower needs, and ensure that their allocations and operational decisions lead to the best service at the lowest cost. Service staff allocation and response-time in service involves many challenging problems, because the mean and variance of the response-time in service can increase dramatically with traffic intensity, consequently the design for this system has to be able to cope with this complication. This experiment discusses how to use simulation model to improve response-time in service operations. Simulation experiments for analyzing the steady-state behavior of queuing systems over a range of traffic intensities are considered the best method of solution. The technique of simulation consists of taking random samples from the probability distribution which represents the real-world system. In this research the effects of dependent departure intervals on waiting times are examined for a one-station queuing system, and inter-arrival times are compared to a computer-simulated inter-arrival times having dependent arrivals. Significant differences in service times are found due to the mean and variance of the service times.The purpose of this research is to propose a new dynamic-server queuing model to increase system efficiency and customer satisfaction compared with the current practice. Diberlakukannya ketentuan upah minimum terbaru, Jakarta menjadi propinsi yang tingkat upah minimumnya tertinggi dibandingkan propinsi-propinsi disekitarnya. Dampaknya adalah beberapa industri merelokasi pabriknya keluar Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak kenaikan upah minimum di sektor industri pengolahan di Jakarta terhadap peningkatan keluaran (output) dan permintaan tenaga kerja sekaligus melihat dampak keterkaitan dan kebelakangnya antar subsektor dengan menggunakan tabel Input dan Output. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kenaikan upah sebesar 9 persen berakibat pada naiknya permintaan terhadap output disubsektor makanan sebesar Rp. 283 miliar, subsektor minuman Rp 9,32 miliar, tekstil Rp. 31,65, miliar. Demikian juga Subsektor yang paling tinggi penyerapan tenaga kerjanya akibat kenaikan upah adalah subsektor pakaian jadi 11.573 orang, diikuti oleh subsektor Karet dan Plastik 5.082 orang, Makanan 4.403 orang dan Kendaraan Bermotor3.444 orang. Dengan demikian subsektor pakaian jadi merupakan subsektor yang paling padat karya dibandingkan subsektor industri lainnya. Hal ini cukup menjelaskan mengapa perusahaan garmen dan tekstil banyak yang merelokasi pabrik nya keluar Jakarta. Kata Kunci : Input, Output , Pertumbuhan, Tenaga Kerja, Upah

The famous methods to determine and solve transportation problem are the Northwest-corner rule/method and the Stepping-stone Method. In the Northwest-Corner Rule, the largest possible allocation is made to the cell in the upper left-hand corner of the tableau, followerd by allocations to adjacent feasible cells; while the Stepping-Stone Method is an iterative technique for moving from an initial feasible solution to an optimum feasible solution which continues untul the optimum solution is reached. However, inn some cases, sometimes we have been facing some difficulties to solve transportation problem with these two methods, therefore we intoduce the Assignment Method, which is simpler and faster in solving the transportation problem by reducing the numbers (cost) in the table/tableau until a series of zeros is found, or zero opportunity costs, which means that will reach the optimum cost allocations. Once reach the optimum cost allocations, the next step is to allocate each source or supply according to some points of demand (destinations). Assignment Method is a specialized form of optimization linear programming model that attempts to assign limited capacitiy to various demand points in a way that minimizes costs.Keywords :assignment method, linear programming, lowest opportunity cost, minimize time required

AbstractEffectivities of the promotions have always become a hot issue in marketing field. Several marketers don’t measures the effectiveness of the campaign result. Experiences proved for the decreased of using some traditional method in the campaign activity such as commercial advertisement in electronic media. The background of this research on Syariah banking is based on the opinion and supposition that the interest given by conventional banking is a usury. As can be seen on the national and regional development on Syariah Banking, it is shown that the public interest in Syariah Banking is very high. This research is conducted mainly in the city of Pekanbaru on Bank Riau Syariah Pekanbaru Branch. The purpose of this research is to find out the factors often influencing the public interest in saving their money on Bank Riau Syariah. There are primary and secondary used in this research. The primary data is directly acquired from the main resources through the use of questionnaire. The secondary data used in this research is gathered with the help from Bank Riau Syariah Pekanbaru Branch, and the organizational structure of said bank. The method used in analysing the data of the research is a descriptive method which is done by following the procedure of solving the problem being investigated and by describing the state of the object of the research at the time of the research, based on the fact and reality. Then, the data collected is organized and arranged in the form of tables to be later elaborated and analysed. The result of the research shows that the dominant factors in influencing the public interest in saving their money in Bank Riau Syariah Pekanbaru Branch is to avoid act of committing usury. The other factors are profit and the belief that saving in a Syariah Bank is one form of confirming the Islamic Syariah. Moreover, there are also other factors influencing the public interest in saving in a Syariah Bank, such as accessibility, security, and other non-related factors such as the good service provided by the bank in serving its customer. Struktur modal adalah jumlah modal permanen perusahaan yang bersumber dari utang jangka panjang dan modal sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keadaan struktur modal dan hubungan struktur modal yang didukung bukti empiris pada perusahaan publik yang ada di BEJ berdasarkan Static Trade Off Theory dan Pecking Order Theory pada tahun 2002 – 2004.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode statistikdan pengujian hipotesis dengan korelasi parametrik (Pearson two tailed test) dengan menggunakan dua variabel penting yaitu nilai rasio hutang (DER) dan nilai rasio return on assets (ROA). Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah memperoleh data-data sekunder yang diambil dari fact book di Pusat Referensi Pasar Modal Indonesia dengan populasi seluruh perusahaan yang ada di BEJ pada tahun 2002 sebanyak 336 perusahaan, tahun 2003 sebanyak 341 perusahaan dan tahun 2004 sebanyak 335 perusahaan. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan maka dapat disimpulkan: hipotesis menyatakan bahwa seluruh perusahaan yang diteliti pada tahun 2002 dan 2003 tidak mempunyai hubungan (korelasi) antara besarnya nilai rasio DER dan ROA. Sedangkanpada tahun 2004 mempunyai hubungan (korelasi) antara besarnya nilai rasio DER dan ROA dan adanya hubungan yang negatif membuktikan bahwa berlakunya pecking order theory pada perusahaan go-public di Indonesia.Kata kunci: Struktur modal, teori perimbangan statis, teori jenjang minat, rasio hutang (DER), return on assets (ROA).

The increasing number of motorized vehicles from year to year triggers the high number of gas stations, and consequently, a more competitive sector. As service business, gas stations must pay attention to the workforce’s performance in order to excel in the competition. This research is conducted to determine the influence of financial and non-financial compensation on the workforce’s performance in BS Group. This research is a quantitative research. The population of this research is the entire operator department of BS Group. This research uses non-probability sampling method, or more specifically, saturated sampling, to select 83 respondents as samples. The questionnaires used as data collection method consist of three variables, namely financial compensation, non-financial compensation, and performance. Additionally, Multiple Linear Regression is used as data analysis technique. Research results indicate that both financial and non-financial compensations significantly affect the employee performance of BS Group. Financial report is an important factor for inventors to make investment decision in capital market. Publicly financial report which has relevant information will be reacted by market player. Many investors and other users of financial report do not pay attention to the process of publishing financial report, so it pushes the emergence of dysfunctional behaviours like earning management practices.The research aims to analyze the difference of market reaction between:1) earning management companies and non-earning management companies; 2) income-decreasing discretionary accruals companies and income-increasing discretionary accruals companies.Population of this research is 130 manufactured companies listed in JSX during 2009-2010. Using convenience sampling method, 49 companies were taken to become final samples for each period. The result with two independent samples test Kruskal Walles χ (sign 5%) shows that there was no difference of market reaction between earning management companies and non-earning management companies (χ 0,58989 dan 0,03137), and neither was there between income-decreasing discretionary accruals companies and income-increasing discretionary accruals companies (χ 0,735 dan 2,82767).Keywords : Earning Management, Market Reaction.

Sleman Regency is one regency in Province Yogyakarta Special Region that has the potential as a contributor for Yogyakarta Regional Gross Domestic Bruto and Indonesia Gross Domestic Product. This descriptive quantitative paper will discuss about what the base sectors in Sleman Regency so that worthy to be developed. Location quotation (LQ) method was used to calculate and explain the base sectors in Sleman Regency. The resultas obtained that base sectors in Sleman in 2010 and 2011 were processing industry, electricity, gas, and clean water, construction, trade, hotel, and restaurants, and financial sectors was the impact of Merapi eruption last year that causes huge material losses.Key Words- Economy Potential, Base Sector, Location Quotation, Sleman Regency

Entering the year of 1990s, the world economic growth was marked by the economic growth of Eastern Asian Countries reaching 7 percent per year on the average. Despite the economic crisis at the end of 1990s, these countries managed to grow. In reference the Classic Theory, the growth factors included supply side (production) whereas the Neo Classic Theory as its the follower introduced the role of human capital as the trigger of the economic growth i.e. New Growth Theory. Furthermore, several Neo Classic followers added that research and development were also the trigger of the economic growth.Kata Kunci: Pertumbuhan ekonomi, research and development, investasi sumber daya manusia.
