Abstract

Abstract

Lagrange Multipliers are a mathematical tool for constrained optimization of differentiable functions. The given procedure defines the Lagrangean Method for identifying the stationary points of optimization problems with equality constraints; L (ℷ, X) = f(X) – ℷg(X – C). This function is called the Lagrangean function and the parameters ℷ is the Lagrange Multipliers. The partial derivatives of this equation ∂L/∂ℷ = 0 and ∂L/∂X = 0 will give the optimal result for X.However, in some cases, sometimes we have been facing some difficulties to solve nonlinear programming problem with this method, therefore we would like to introduce the Substitution Method or Microsoft Excel Method, which is simple, easier and faster to solve the nonlinear programming problem. Because of the mathematical nature of nonlinear programming models, and in management science we do not have a single general technique to solve all mathematical models that can arise in practice, therefore simpler approaches should be explored first. In some cases, a “common sense” solution may be reached through simple observations.

Abstract

Abstract

This study discusses about "Effect of Competence and Auditor independency on the Quality Audit on Internal Quality Audit System ISO 9001: 2008 at the University of Bunda Mulia". The purpose of this study to determine how much influence the competence and independence of the quality audit on internal quality audit system is ISO 9001 so that it can be made in the audit strategy and the determination of the auditor. In this research produced the conclusion that the value of the regression coefficient competence (X1) of 0.022 and has significant value <0.05 proves that competence significant effect on audit quality. Then the value of the independence of the regression coefficient (X2) is 0,747dan have significant value> 0.05 proving that independence had no significant effect on audit quality.Calculated F value of 4.767> F table at 4.11 and significant value of 0.032 <alpha value of 0.05. This means there is a simultaneous effect between competence and independence to audit quality. Keywords: internal quality audits, internal auditor, competence, independence, quality audits, ISO 9001: 2008

Abstract

Abstract

Many companies and organizations are increasingly focusing on human capital as a competitive advantage in a rapidly changing environment. To achieve business success, companies are expecting their employees to perform at higher levels, to be more customer-responsive, more process-oriented, more involved in shared leadership and more responsible for creating the knowledge that adds value to an organization’s distinguishing capabilities. When embarking on the path of selecting and defining competencies, an organization needs to pause for an introspective review. Linking competencies to the organization’s purpose, goals and values is the key to positively affect the organization’s direction and bottom line. Competencies can be categorized into one of four groups, organization-based, individual-based, technical and behavioral. From a strategic direction approach, the organization that knows and understands its core competencies and capabilities can use them to attain a strategic advantage. In addition, the organization understands that there is a diverse cross section of organizational competencies that are necessary for fulfilling its mission. Successful application of competencies lies in how they are defined. Simplicity and measurability are keys for competencies to be accepted and measured throughout an organization. Keywords: competencies, core competencies, organizational competencies, simplicity and measurability
