The Journal of Bionursing is an open access journal which provides forum to publish scientific works on Nursing and health Sciences (pISSN: 2684-7833, eISSN: 2685-6484). This Journal was established in 2019 and developed by Department of Nursing, Faculty of health Sciences, Jenderal Soedirman University under collaboration with Indonesian Biomedical Nurses Association. This journal will be published three times in a year (January, Mei, September). The focus and scopes of the journal cover all aspects of nursing and biomedical research including basic research in nursing, medical and surgical nursing, management nursing, mental health nursing, emergency and critical nursing, gerontological nursing, mental health nursing, maternity nursing, pediatric nursing, community nursing, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in Nursing.

Abstract

Background: ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection) is one of the main causes of death in Indonesia and worldwide. Many toddlers experience ARI in Antang landfill area. In general, Antang landfill area is far from healthy standard. In Puskesmas Tamangapa, ARI cases on children under five were 0.94% in 2018, 1.03% in 2019, 0.38% in 2020, and 0.44% in 2021. Lack of previous studies conducted research in this area. Aim: This study aimed to describe the incidence of ARI on toddlers. Method: This research was descriptive research in that number of sample was 46 toddlers who had suffered from ARI based on the evaluation of the last 3 months from the Puskesmas Tamangapa selected by total sampling. Data collection applied questionnaire as a research instrument. Results: The results revealed that toddlers with ARI were male 29 (63.0%), good nutritional status was 32 (69.6%), complete immunization status by 31 (67.4%), those whose father smoked were 42 (91.3%), exposed to the smell of light garbage by 21 (45.7%) and the density of the housing was not dense by 38 (82.6%). Conclusion: It concluded that most respondents were male, performed appropriate nutritional status, complete immunization status, their father smokes, exposed to the smell of light garbage and the density of the dwelling is not dense.

Abstract

Background: Psychological distress of parents with preterm infant also could be treated appropriately by enhancing parent’s involvement in infant care, including skin-to-skin contact. A few of studies related to skin-to-skin contact have revealed can benefit from infant and parental outcomes. The previous review only explored the distress among parents with healthy infant. The effect skin-to-skin contact among parents with preterm infant is necessary to be investigated. Objective: This article provided a review related to effect of skin-to-skin contact toward parent stress during preterm infant’s hospitalization in NICU. Methods.A literature review was performed by searching of trials using PubMed, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, and CINAHL and published in English from 2012 to 2022, English-published, full text availability related to skin-to-skin contact, or Kangaroo Mother Care, preterm infants and parental distress (mother and/or father) in NICU. Result: This study involved six trials and 489 parents with preterm infant. Fours studies explored maternal stress and the others assessed parental stress during NICU admission. Five trials reported parental stress deflation after skin-to-skin contact with their infants, otherwise one trial revealed that skin-to-skin contact escalated parental stress due to a more facilitated infant progression. Conclusion: Skin-to-skin contact benefits parents with preterm infants by decreasing the psychological distress during NICU admission.

Abstract

Background: The elderly are one of the groups vulnerable to disasters, especially the Covid-19 pandemic. Prevention of Covid-19 in the elderly can be increased through vaccination and health promotion efforts. The achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for the elderly is still in the low category and far from expectations. It is possible that the elderly's perception of the covid vaccination can influence the behavior of the elderly in making decisions to take the Covid-19 vaccine. Aim: To identify the elderly's perception of the covid-19 vaccination. Method: The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive study.. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling technique Data collected using research instruments in the form of questionnaires developed from the Health Belief Model theory. Results: Based on the perception component of the HMB,majority of all perceptions showed moderate results. A perceived vulnerability level of 77.5%, a perceived seriousness of 70.15%, a perceived benefit of 75%, a perception of self-efficacy 83.8% and a cues to act 78.3%, and the majority of perceptions of barriers that are lacking are 75.8%. Conclusion: The majority of elderly’s perception showed moderate results.

Abstract

Background : Nursing documentation is an important aspect of nurse profesionalism. Therefore each nurses should write down their activity properly according their role. However, to keep nurse documenting their prefossional behavior have been challanging according to studies. Objective: This study aims to portray how nurses perceived behavior control toward nursing documentation in hospital. Method: an observational study was conducted to investigate perceived behavior control among nurses working in ward setting. A total sampling technique was applied to recruite 47 nurses work in pediatric ward. Univariate analysis was utilized. Results: Most respondents were female, age 37.9 (7.5) years old on average, with undergraduate in nursing education background. Currently nurses were qualified for the first level of clinical nurse’s career path (PK 1), and working as associate nurses. The average score of nurses’ perceived control behavior over nursing care documentation was 68.59 (5.13). Conclusion: Nurses perceived behaviors control over nursing care documentation were slighty over the mediocre values, Nurses tend to have positive perception on their control over documenting nursing care.

Abstract

Background. : Narcissistic behavioral tendencies are self-loving behaviors and have a need to be adored or appreciated. The tendency of this narcissistic behavior can unwittingly affect the self-acceptance of a teenager. This study aims to determine the relationship between narcissistic behavior tendencies and self-acceptance in adolescents who use Instagram social media. Methods. The design of this research is correlational analysis and quantitative research approach cross sectional. Sampling using purposive sampling with research respondents totaling 93 respondents. The research instrument is a questionnaire that uses a Likert scale and uses an ordinal measuring scale. Bivariate analysis using Somers'd test. Results. The results of the univariate characteristics of the respondents obtained a median of 17 years and the majority were female as much as 63.4%. The majority of respondents had a tendency to narcissistic behavior in the less narcissistic category of 52.7% and high self-acceptance of 53.8%. The results of the correlation hypothesis obtained a p-value of 0.000 (P<0.05) and r=0.936. Conclusion. There is a negative relationship between narcissistic behavior tendencies and self-acceptance of social media users instagram with very strong power. The higher the tendency of narcissistic behavior, the lower the self-acceptance of adolescents who use social media instagram.

Abstract

Background: Knowledge can influence behaviour. Feeding is a factor that affect nutritional status of children. This study aims to describe the relationship between the level of mother’s knowledge about feeding rules and the nutritional status of toddlres.Methods: This study used a cross-sectional method. This research was conducted at the posyandu in Bancarkembar area with a total sampling technique. The number of samples is 68 respondents who meet the inclusive criteria. The research was conducted by giving a questionnaire the level of mother’s knowledge about feeding rules and antropometric measurements (weight and length) on toddlers to determine the nutritional status of toddlers. The two variables were tested for correlation using Sommers’d.Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of mother’s knowledge about feeding rules and the nutritional status of toddlers with p-0,042 (p<0,05).Conclusion: The level of mother’s knowledge about feeding rules is related to the nutritional status of toodlers. This research recommends feeding rules education to mothers.

Abstract

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on learning patterns so that it requires students to adapt to this situation. The stressor is felt more by first year students because they have to make adjustments to a different academic environment while in high school. Objective: The aim of the research is to describe the academic stress and coping mechanisms of health fakulty students. Method:This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design. The research population was health fakulty Unsoed students. Samples were selected using Stratified Random Sampling techniqueand obtained respondents a number of 269 respondents. This research uses academic stress inventory questionnaire and stress coping style inventory. Data analysis was performed univariately. Result: Characteristics of the majority of respondents were women (77.3%), aged 18 years and came from the nursing department (24.5%). The highest frequency of academic stress experienced by students is teachers stress (188), results stress (210), tests stress (218), studying in group stress (167), peer stress (126), time management stress (126), self - inflicte stress (154). As for the application of coping mechanisms, the majority of respondents applied active emotional coping, 177 respondents (65.8%). The highest score on the academic stress questionnaire is found in the 15th item, namely 125 (46.5%) respondents. Conclusion: The majority of students apply active emotional coping in dealing with academic stress. It is better if the application of coping mechanisms to students is not only aimed at calming down, but also being able to solve existing problems

Abstract

Background. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused various changes, including the learning system in schools. Freshman students must adapt to these changes and go through a transition from high school to college. Resilience is needed by freshmen in order to get through this difficult time. This study aimed to find out the characteristics of the respondents, the level of resilience, and resilience based on the characteristics of the respondents. Methods. This research used a quantitative descriptive method. The research sample was 266 people who were taken using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instruments used are The Rugged Resilience Measure (RRM) to measure internal protective factors and The Child and Youth Resilience Measure-Revised (CYRM-R) to measure external protective factors. Results. The majority of respondents were female (77.8%) and majored in Nursing (24.4%). Student resilience is in the moderate category on internal (72.6%) and external (65.4%) protective factors. High resilience was found more in male respondents (40.7% internal and 30.5% external protective factors), Physical Education majors (31.4% internal and 21.6% external protective factors), and Pharmacy majors (external protective 21.6%). Conclusion. The resilience of first year students is in the moderate category in both internal and external protective factors. High resilience was found in the male sex, majoring in Physical Education, and Pharmacy major.

Abstract

Background: Youth are the next generation of the nation that has the right to grow healthy and prosperous in order to participate in development. Therapeutic group therapy (TKT) is an effective intervention to improve the developmental ability and self-identity formation of adolescents.The combination of TKT and Project Based Learning (PjBL) will provide challenges to be conquered so as to build youth resilience. Success in mastering developmental tasks and challenges will bring youth happiness. Methods: The design used was a quasi-experimental one-group pre-post test design and purposive sampling technique The achievement is measured in the form of psychological well-being. PjBL combination TKT activities were conducted in Blangkunan Village Pabelan On February 22 - May 7, 2021. The activity was attended by 17 youth divided into three groups, groups 1 and 2 each 6 people, and group 3 consisting of 5 people. TKT activities are conducted as many as 6 sessions with a time per meeting of 60-90 minutes.Results: The majority of adolescents are female (70.6%). There is an increase in all aspects of adolescent development, namely 100% in cognitive, language, emotional, personality, moral, spiritual, social, and creative skills. Aspects of talent development increased 58.82%. Increased resilience of adolescents from 69.7% to 75.45%. while psychological well-being increased from 68.67% to 70.63%. Conclusion: Combination therapeutic group therapy PjBL improves the ability aspects of biological development, psychosocial, cognitive, language, emotion, personality, moral, spiritual, social, talent and creativity; resilience, and psychological well-being teenagers.

Abstract

Background: Risky sexual behavior that is generally carried out by adolescents is an activity that is often carried out when dating, namely holding hands, kissing, and petting and having sex while dating. The increasing percentage of teenagers who have had premarital sex will also increase the negative impacts that can occur, such as teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, to social impacts in society. Aim:The purpose of this study was to identify risky sexual behavior in adolescents in Banyumas Regency. Methods: This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional research design. The sample of this research is junior high school, high school and vocational school students who attend school in Banyumas Regency. The sampling technique with probability stratified random sampling has been used and obtained 452 respondents. Results: The result show the respondents with risky sexuality were 251 respondents (55.5%). It is known that 231 teenagers with unsafe risky sexual behavior (51.1%) and 20 teenagers with unsafe behavior (4.4%). Most (251 respondents) have held hands with their partners (68.13%), hugged their partners' bodies (49.40%), masturbated (34.66%) and hugged their partners (27.09%). Conclusion: The high percentage of adolescents who have had premarital sexual intercourse will also increase the adverse effects that can occur, such as teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, to social impacts in society.
