Abstract

This research investigates the application of the cooperative learning model, specifically the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) approach, in enhancing the learning outcomes of high school students in the topic of System of Linear Equations in Three Variables (SPLTV) at SMA Negeri 2 Manado. The study is motivated by the challenges students face in mathematics, particularly in contextual problems and mathematical modeling, leading to outcomes that do not meet the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). The research employs a quasi-experimental design, contrasting one class utilizing the TAI model with another using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected via pre-tests and post-tests, which revealed a significant difference in average scores favoring the TAI model. Results indicate that TAI not only improves knowledge but also engages students actively, promoting collaboration and reducing the perception of mathematics as a difficult subject. The study suggests the integration of cooperative learning strategies to enhance student motivation and understanding in mathematics education, contributing to the development of effective teaching methodologies.

Abstract

The problem of undiscipline and disobedience in driving traffic is a problem that is still faced by law enforcement officials in Indonesia. The birth of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) is a complementary effort in overcoming the problem of traffic order violations. So that its position does not eliminate conventional methods in direct traffic control. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of ETLE in the law enforcement system in Tangerang Regency. The method used is empirical legal research using primary data and secondary data. The results show that although the ETLE system can improve efficiency and accuracy in traffic law enforcement, its effectiveness is still constrained by several factors. The limited number of monitoring points, lack of socialization to the public, and low legal awareness of motorists are the main obstacles. Although the number of traffic violations netted through ETLE is quite significant, there is still a need for infrastructure improvement, better socialization, and an approach to form a stronger legal culture among the community so that traffic law enforcement can run optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Based on the information, students at SMP Negeri 3 Touluaan have relatively low mathematics scores and face difficulties in learning Pythagorean theorem material, which impacts their learning outcomes. To achieve better learning results, one alternative learning model that can improve student outcomes is the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. The purpose of this research, as presented in this thesis, is to determine the students' learning outcomes after implementing the CTL approach in teaching Pythagorean theorem material to Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Touluaan, and to assess the completeness of learning outcomes after using the CTL approach. The research methodology used is quantitative descriptive statistics, with datancollection techniques including questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Basednon the results of the study, the influence of contextual mathematics learning on students' outcomes in Pythagorean theorem material at SMP Negeri 3 Touluaan has been positive. Supporting factors in the learning process include high student interest in learning, while inhibiting factors are a lack of foundational knowledge in geometric shapes, angles, and related topics, as well as some students' reluctance to express their opinions and their diverse backgrounds.

Abstract

To meet the urgent future energy needs, and the demand for sustainable and renewable energy resources continues to increase, electrical energy storage devices such as supercapacitors are an alternative for biomass-based electrical energy utilization. In this study, water hyacinth samples have been successfully modified into activated carbon from KOH and NaOH activators as supercapacitor electrodes. Chemical activation process using KOH solution concentrations of 3 M, 5 M, 7 M and NaOH 3 M, 5 M, 7 M, with physical activation using a furnace at 750oC produces a voltage with each concentration of 3 M, 5 M, and 7 M KOH of 1.235 V, 1.637 V, 1.715 V current 12.01 mA, 9.59 mA, 6.76 mA and 3, 5 M, and 7 M NaOH 1.012 V, 1.516 V, 1.625 current 10.59 mA, 9.53 mA, 6.09 mA which shows that there is a difference in the value of voltage and electric current in supercapacitor electrodes, with KOH samples with concentrations of 3 M, 5 M, and 7 M, overall KOH is better than the type of activator NaOH. So it can be concluded that the type of activator has a characteristic influence on the voltage and electric current in supercapacitor electrodes

Abstract

Geothermal is a natural heat resource derived from the interaction between heat that has been emitted by hot rocks and water. Geothermal energy is pollution-free, sustainable, or renewable. Geothermal energy appears on the surface in the form of geothermal manifestations such as warm ground, steamy ground, hot springs. North Sulawesi has the potential to be the location of direct and indirect geothermal development. This study aims to determine the fluid type and molecular functional groups of hot springs in Sawangan Village, North Minahasa Regency, because this location has geothermal potential. By using the geochemical method of making diagrams , it is known that the fluid type of hot springs in Talawaan Bantik Village, Wori District is of the Birkabonat type and the molecular functional groups are C = O and O-H, where the parent chain, C, O and H bind (Bicarbonate) which corresponds to the fluid type results.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess students' understanding of mathematical concepts pertaining to triangle topics. This research employed a qualitative approach, intending to generate descriptive data through written and verbal expressions from various sources observed. The study took place at SMP Negeri 1 Tenga, located in South Minahasa. Data collection methods comprised written tests and interviews, which were administered to a total of 12 eighth-grade students. The gathered data was analyzed by categorizing students into three groups based on their understanding of mathematical concepts. Findings revealed that 83.3% of the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Tenga achieved a high level of understanding at the translation stage, as this indicator was relatively straightforward. In contrast, 66.6% demonstrated a good understanding at the interpolation stage, as some students were able to effectively select and apply appropriate procedures. However, only 33.3% of students exhibited comprehension at the extrapolation level, which fell into the low category, primarily due to difficulties in problem-solving accuracy and an insufficient grasp of the problems. Additionally, the distribution of understanding levels included 3 students in the high category, 3 in the medium category, and 6 who displayed a very low understanding of mathematical concepts at both the extrapolation and interpolation levels, as well as at the translation level
