Abstract

This research aims to describe the profile of students with high, medium and low mathematical abilities in solving word problems on flat shapes. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Supporting instruments include mathematical ability tests, problem solving tests and interview guides. The data obtained from this research are the results of students' mathematical ability tests and the results of mathematical problem solving tests in the form of story questions, both written tests and interviews. The results of this research are that students with high mathematical abilities in understanding problems, planning solutions, carrying out solutions and re-examining problem solving are included in the good category. Students with moderate abilities in understanding problems are quite good, in planning solutions they are quite good, in carrying out problem solving plans they are in the poor category and in re-examining solutions they are not good enough. Students with low mathematical abilities in understanding problems are in the fairly good category, in planning solutions are quite good, while in carrying out and re-examining problem solving they are in the not so good category.

Abstract

Mathematical modeling is the process of deducing a mathematical model of a phenomenon based on the assumptions used. The purpose of a mathematical model is to make decisions based on real situations by analyzing the model. This research aims to obtain a mathematical model of income for KUD Karya Bhakti Pamekasan, to determine the most dominant variables influencing income and to determine the perception of the Karya Bhakti village community regarding income and progress of KUD in the area. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. Data collection techniques through literature study. Data analysis uses linear regression analysis to obtain a mathematical model, namely Y=228961 935 - 0.197x e. The constant is 228961935, which means that if income (Y) is non-existent or zero (zero), then the SHU (Y) in the cooperative will decrease by IDR 289,61,935. Meanwhile, the b value (regression coefficient) shows a negative value of 0.197. A value of 0.197 means that if income is zero then the SHU remains the same and every additional 1 sale reduces the SHU by 0.197.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the analysis of students' creative thinking in posing SPLDV problems in terms of students with high abilities and low abilities. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The material used is Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). SPLDV are two linear equations that have solutions in the form of ordered pairs which can be represented by x, y. The results of the research are that students with high abilities in asking SPLDV problems can be included in the good category. Students with medium low ability in asking SPLDV problems are still in the sufficient category. Low ability students HY are only able to meet the indicators of creative thinking fluency. In planning and implementing SPLDV problem submissions, it is seen from cognitive ability, namely high ability and low ability are still categorized as lacking.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan problematika matematika sekolah pada kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah trgonometri berdasarkan analisis kesulitan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 orang siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Pamekasan yang memiliki kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian diawali dengan pemberian TKM pada siswa kelas X sebagai acuan pemilihan subjek. Setelah didapat subjek penelitian, selanjutnya pemberian TMS (Tes Menyelesaikan Soal) dan wawancara untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah trigonometri. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi waktu, setelah diperoleh data valid dianalisis berdasarkan tiga tahap yaitu reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Analisis kesulitan dalam penelitian ini mencakup 1) kesulitan siswa dalam memahami konsep 2) kesulitan siswa dalam menerapkan prinsip 3) kesulitan siswa dalam menerapkan prosedur dan 4) kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah verbal. Hasil penelitian melaporkan; ST subjek kemampuan tinggi secara umum tidak memiliki kesulitan yang berarti, mampu memahami konsep, menerapkan prinsip, menerapkan prosedur dan menyelesaikan masalah verbal namun sedikit mengalami kesulitan dalam menetapkan prinsip ”identitas trigonometri” dalam menerapkan prinsip tersebut dengan baik. SS Subjek kemampuan sedang mengalami kesulitan dalam menerapkan konsep, tidak mampu mengingat jenis-jenis identitas trigonometri dan salah dalam menyebutkan rumus. Kesulitan dalam menetapkan prinsip tidak melibatkan prinsip trigonometri yang berakibat kesulitan dalam menerapkan prosedur, sehingga dalam menyelesaikan masalah verbalpun hasil yang diperoleh tidak sesuai atau salah. SR subjek dengan Kemampuan rendah mengalami semua jenis kesulitan (konsep, prinsip, prosedur dan pemyelesaian masalah verbal).

Abstract

The main aims of this study is to analyze the current scenario of teaching learning practices among students with physically disabilities in their study area. This study analyzes existing instructional practices used for students with physical disabilities, find out challenges in teaching students, and suggest appropriate instructional techniques for academic output of the students. The study was conducted through general qualitative research design with interpretive paradigm. The respondents of this study are physically disabled students, head teacher of the school who is physically disabled and teachers teaching students with physically disabled. Two schools from Kathmandu district is selected purposively. In-depth interview, observation, and focus group discussion were used in this study to collect primary data.  Two student-respondents from the school were interviewed from the secondary level. Six teachers and one head teacher from selected schools were also interviewed. So, our total respondents in this research are 18. The collected data is analyzed using thematic analysis, a systematic approach involving several key steps. The themes are reviewed and refined through discussion and comparison with the original data. Creating inclusive learning environments, providing assistive technology, modifying curriculum and assessments, and promoting self-advocacy and independence are the major steps which can be implied in teaching/ learning process for better output of disabled students. The study also suggests for the appropriate instructional techniques to be used for academic improvement of the students with physical disabilities. By embracing a student-centered approach and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning community, educators can empower students with physical disabilities to reach their full potential physically, mentally, academically and socially well.
