Abstract

Entrepreneurship in the digital era is increasingly shaped by globalization and technological change. Business activities now extend beyond national boundaries, relying on digital platforms, international partnerships, and knowledge exchange. Global networking provides entrepreneurs with access to markets, resources, and social capital, while collaboration across borders accelerates innovation through cooperation among firms, universities, governments, and international institutions. This paper highlights the importance of global networking and collaboration in strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems, with Indonesia as a central focus. Case studies such as Gojek’s partnership with Google and Tencent, and Tokopedia’s alliance with Alibaba, demonstrate how international cooperation enhances infrastructure, expands market reach, and fosters innovation. Despite these advances, challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, reliance on foreign investment, and gaps in national policy. Addressing these issues through human resource development, digital platforms, and supportive policies is essential for building inclusive and globally competitive entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study explores the development of students' English literacy skills through the Kampus Mengajar Program as part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. The program aims to enhance students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities by engaging preservice teachers as learning facilitators in elementary schools. A descriptive qualitative research method was employed, involving six English Education students from Muhammadiyah University of Kendari who taught in six elementary schools. The findings reveal the implementation of various innovative strategies, including a 15-minute book reading session before class, digital learning through applications like Duolingo, and speaking activities involving discussions and role-playing. This approach gradually improved students’ vocabulary comprehension, speaking fluency, and listening skills. The program also benefits preservice teachers by enhancing their teaching experience and understanding of effective language learning strategies. In conclusion, the Kampus Mengajar Program significantly contributes to improving students’ English literacy through technology-based and interactive learning methods, creating a more engaging and effective learning environment.

Abstract

Writing is an important ability in English study, yet many students fail to communicate their thoughts coherently and artistically. Innovative solutions are required to assist kids in enhancing their writing skills. The purpose of this study is to look into the usefulness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) combined with mind mapping in enhancing students' writing skills, specifically in recount texts. Using a pre-experimental research methodology, the study was conducted at SMKN 1 Pangkalan Banteng with 28 eleventh-grade students from class XI AKL 1. The study had three stages: pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The students' pre-test average score was 71.04, which increased to 78.32 in the post-test. The data were examined using a normality test and a paired sample t-test. The normality test validated the data's normal distribution. The paired sample t-test resulted in a significant difference (p-value < 0.05) between pre-test and post-test scores. These data indicate that Project-Based Learning with Mind Mapping is an effective way to improve students' writing skills, particularly in writing recount texts. This study contributes to the field of English language instruction by emphasizing the advantages of integrating innovative and student-centered methods to improve writing skills.

Abstract

This study examines the factors that contribute to teaching anxiety and the coping strategies employed by pre-service teachers during microteaching sessions. The research adopts a qualitative method with a narrative research design, involving nine pre-service teachers from Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. The findings reveal that teaching anxiety stems from both internal factors, such as low self-confidence, fear of making mistakes, and limited teaching experience, and external factors, including peer and lecturer evaluations, time constraints, and large class sizes. To manage these anxieties, pre-service teachers employed various coping strategies, including thorough preparation, positive self-talk, reflection, and seeking social support. Peer encouragement and constructive feedback from lecturers played a crucial role in reducing anxiety and enhancing teaching readiness. The study suggests that teacher education programs should foster not only pedagogical competence but also emotional resilience. Future research is recommended to explore structured interventions to mitigate teaching anxiety in practical teaching contexts.

Abstract

This study employed a descriptive research method with a mixed-methods approach to investigate the university students’ need in learning English reading at a private university in Southeast Sulawesi province, Indonesia. A descriptive design was used to analyze students’ needs in learning reading—particularly in relation to Islamic content—without manipulating variables. The research design followed a Needs Analysis framework in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), combining questionnaires for quantitative data and interviews for qualitative insights. The findings reveal that students are dominantly motivated by instrumental goals, with 87.75% aiming for better career opportunities, and high percentages driven by examination success (87%) and academic achievement (85%). Reading has been widely identified as a fundamental skill that plays a pivotal role in fostering vocabulary acquisition and enhancing academic literacy, particularly within the domain of Islamic studies. Students also expressed a preference for bilingual instruction, balancing Indonesian and English, to support comprehension and gradual exposure to authentic input. Overall, the study concludes that students’ motivations are multifaceted, encompassing career, academic, and disciplinary needs. These results underscore the importance of designing ESP-based English programs that integrate workplace relevance, academic literacy, and Islamic content within a flexible bilingual pedagogy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how junior high school students and teachers in coastal areas view about the use of the Digital Comic-Based Approach (DCBA) to improve their English literacy. Using a qualitative-dominant Research and Development (R&D) methodology and grounded in contextual learning theory, this study investigates the effects of digital comics that are based on local culture and real-life scenarios on students' motivation, engagement, and comprehension in learning English literacy. In-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and classroom observations were used to gather data for the study, which was carried out at SMPN Satu Atap 19 Konawe Selatan, a coastal school in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, with few resources and a C accreditation. Strong student involvement, contextual relevance, and the usefulness of DCBA in improving English literacy in a marginalized educational setting are revealed by the findings. Increased motivation, a stronger sense of cultural connection, and improved comprehension of English-language material were reported by both teachers and students. According to the findings, DCBA provides a workable and culturally relevant teaching approach that is appropriate for the development of coastal literacy.
