Abstract

Toleransi beragama merupakan elemen dasar yang dibutuhkan untuk menumbuhkembangkan sikap saling memahami dan menghargai perbedaan yang ada dalam masyarakat majemuk seperti Indonesia. Peserta didik memiliki posisi penting dan potensi besar dalam menciptakan toleransi beragama. Oleh karena itu, timbul pertanyaan seperti apakah tingkat toleransi peserta didik sekolah lanjutan tingkat atas saat ini. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui tingkat toleransi peserta didik sekolah lanjutan tingkat atas di Pulau Jawa dan Sulawesi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum sikap keberagamaan peserta didik muslim sekolah lanjutan tingkat atas adalah moderat dan cukup toleran, meski juga terlihat munculnya kecenderungan atau gejala sikap intoleran. Intoleransi tersebut berkorelasi dengan faktor internal dan eksternal kegidupan peserta didik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan upaya agar sikap toleran peserta didik semakin meningkat, dan sikap intoleran semakin mengecil, antara lain melalui Pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah. Di antaranya adalah melalui penguatan isi/materi pelajaran yang menekankan faham keagamaan yang moderat, peningkatan profesionalitas guru Pendidikan Agama Islam, media pembelajarannya, dan penilaian hasil belajar peserta didik, peningkatan motivasi dan komitmen untuk menjadi guru yang profesional.

Abstract

SDIT Nurul Fikri beralamat di Jalan Situ Indah No. 116 Rt. 06 Rw. 10, Tugu Cimanggis, Kota Depok yang didirikan pada tahun 1993 di bawah naungan Yayasan Pendidikan Nurul Fikri (YPNF). YPNF merupakan lembaga pendidikan terpadu pertama di Indonesia yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan terpadu di Depok - Jawa Barat. Penyelenggaraan pendidikan agama alternatif di SDIT Nurul Fikri didasarkan latar belakang bahwa a) adanya dikotomi antrara sekolah umum dan sekolah Islam, b) masih tertinggalnya prestasi sekolah Islam dari sekolah umum, (c) adanya kesenjangan antara konsep pendidikan di sekolah dan di rumah, d) adanya kesenjangan antara nilai yang ditanamkan di sekolah dengan output (hasil pada siswa), e) diperlukan keseimbangan antara kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik, dan f) adanya porsi pembelajaran agama yang singkat. Kurikulum pendidikan agama dilakukan di dalam kelas melalui KBM pendidikan agama, silabus, dan RPP. KBM pendidikan agama disesuaikan dengan KTSP, yang didalamnya SI dan SKL sesuai dengan yang dikeluarkan oleh Depdiknas. Penanaman agama kepada peserta didik menjadi tugas guru, orang tua, petugas sekolah, yayasan, dan lingkungan. Seluruh tenaga pengajar dipersyaratkan memiliki kualifikasi S1. Proses perekrutan melalui seleksi administrasi, psikologi, kemampuan mengajar, dan interpersonal guru. Pembinaan sumberdaya manusia melalui pemberian motivasi, short course, atau seminar. Rekruitmen peserta didik SDIT Nurul Fikri dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, pertama, seleksi melalui sosialisasi melalui spanduk, orang tua siswa, dan media masa. Kedua, calon peserta didik diseleksi secara administratif dan psikotes. Sistem evaluasi pembelajaran pendidikan agama dilakukan kepada peserta didik secara normatif sama dengan sistem evaluasi yang lain, yaitu ulangan tengah semester, ulangan sumatif, dan ujuian akhir sekolah. Model evaluasinya adalah unjuk kerja (demonstrasi), tes harian, bulanan, tengah semester, dan akhir semester. Tanggung jawab pembentukan watak bukan semata urusan pembelajaran agama di sekolah. Sekolah menjadi laboratorium persemaian tumbuhnya watak secara egaliter, dan siswa sebagai pelakunya.Semua aktivitas tersebut merupakan bentuk ikhtiar bersama. Semoga dengan begitu, pembelajaran agama tampil sebagai pembelajaran yang mampu berkontribusi kuat dalam melahirkan peserta didik yang berwatak sesuai dengan amanah UU SPN.

Abstract

This paper discusses Banyuwangi Muslims’ perspectives and experiences when they live in Bali and how Bali with Hinduism to be the majority population influences their religious beliefs and their perspectives of interfaith relations. As data, eleven Banyuwangi Muslims were interviewed. The results are said first that hypothesis that the experiences living with other religions will contribute in their opinion of tolerance does not work hundred percentages since many of interviewees think that living in the different religious environment does not affect anything in term of their views of tolerance. Secondly, although the harmonious relations between Hindu Balinese and Banyuwangi Muslim people had existed, in reality, Hindu Balinese which are the majority population still treat differently for Banyuwangi Muslims. Indeed, it proves that the superiority cannot be truly avoided in the relations between both groups. Being minority does not always affect Banyuwangi Muslims to know the majority religion. Thirdly, the author think that it is because the main reason when they came to Bali is only economy, so everything outside economy will not be interesting for them. Living in Bali, moreover, does not contribute in their understanding of tolerance.

Abstract

LKMS merupakan lembaga keuangan yang berorientasi pada upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan anggota dan masyarakat. Lahirnya lembaga keuangan mikro syariah di Indonesia merupakan salah satu jawaban melihat perkembangan perbankan syariah yang masih terpusat kepada masyarakat menengah ke atas. Faktanya, LKMS telah tumbuh menjadi alternatif pemulihan kondisi perekonomian di Indonesia, khususnya sebagai partner para pengusaha kecil dalam penyediaan modal. Walaupun tumbuh dengan pesat, namun LKMS masih mengalami banyak kendala dalam pengembangannya. Masih banyak permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh institusi ini baik dari sisi internal maupun eksternal. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab serta faktor-faktor yang dominan menjadi hambatan dalam pengembangan LKMS di Indonesia, dengan pendekatan metode BOCR Analytic Network Process (ANP), termasuk solusi strategis yang diusulkan. Berdasarkan urutan prioritas, maka alternatif aspek menunjukkan bahwa aspek technical menjadi aspek prioritas, selanjutnya diikuti oleh aspek legal/structure, pasar/komunal, dan SDM. Penguraian solusi secara keseluruhan menghasilkan urutan prioritas 1) Pembinaan/ sosialisasi/pendampingan masyarakat menjadi prioritas utama, selanjutnya diikuti oleh 2) inovasi produk, 3) lokasi strategis, 4) kerjasama dengan LKS lainnya, dan 5) menjadikan elemen eksternal sebagai pusat informasi dan media sosialisasi. Sedangkan prioritas strategi yang dianggap dapat meningkatkan pengembangan LKMS di Indonesia terdiri dari: 1) mengoptimalkan peran pemerintah dalam pendanaan, 2) melakukan koordinasi dengan PINBUK, dan 3) linkage program LKMS-BMT-BPRS-Bank Umum Syariah.

Abstract

Astronomically, Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox. In Indonesia, Christian holidays including Easter are regulated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs based on the recommendation of Indonesian Church Union (PGI) and Bishops Conference of Indonesia (KWI). This study objective is to formulate a simple time marker by using Meeus Astronomical Algorithm to determine Christian holidays in Indonesian Gregorian calendar. Another objective is to evaluate the Christian holidays on Indonesian calendar between 1960 and 2015. Finally, this study would also provide prediction for future Christian holidays. This study finds out that the Christian holidays on Indonesian calendar are proven as methodologically accurate. It indicates that Meeus Astronomical Algorithm can produce accurate calculation for determining Christian holidays in Indonesia in the future. Abstract

This study aims at developing the concept of maqashid al-shari’ah as the fundamental principles for sharia banks. It also sought to develop measurement methods through relevant performance ratio. Maqashid al-shari’ah principles are underlined by three major concepts, namely: (i) individual learning (tahdhibal-fard); justice enforcement (iqamah al-‘adl); and welfare improvement (jalb al-maslahah). These three concepts are then derived into measurable dimentions, elements, an d indicators for public sharia banks in Indonesia. This study employed indexation and benchmarking to 2014 financial report and it found that there is no correlation between the sharia bank assets to their maqashid al-shari’ah performance. Bank Syariah Mandiri with the biggest asset, for instance, perfomed low in the principle of maqashid al-shari’ah. On the contrary, Bank Maybank Syariah and Panin Syariah with less assets performed better. This study suggests that sharia banks Indonesia should apply maqashid al-shari’ah principles for the organizational goals and evaluation method. Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that affect the performance of religious teachers in Islamic Elementary School in South Tangerang City. The study employed causal survey method with the population of 85 religious teachers in Islamic Elementary School in South Tangerang City. Given that the sample is less than 100 participants, the respondents in this study is the total sample (the whole population). Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure the variables of teacher performance, education and training, and work discipline. The coefficient of reliability (alpha value) is consecutively 0.8074; 0.7126. The results indicate that, first, there is a direct and significant effect of education and training to the teacher performance, indicated by the value þ = 1.030 with a regression equation Y = 28.529 + 1,030X1, r1y correlation coefficient = 0.917, and the coefficient of determination R square = 0.841, or 84,1%. Second, there is a positive and significant impact of education and training on work discipline, shown by the p-value = 0.00 <0.05 with a regression equation X2 = 6.214 + 0,733X2, correlation coefficient (R2.1) = 0.928 and F count = 516.609, and the R Square = 0.862, or 86.2%. Third, there is a direct and significant effect of performance to work discipline, which is indicated by the value þ = 0.839, the regression equation Y = 32.015 + 0,839X2. Fourth, there is a direct influence of the training and work discipline on the teacher performance, the regression equation Y = 30.070 + 0,313X1 + 0,610X2, Ry.12 correlation coefficient = 0.952, and the R square = 0.907 or 90.7%. The findings imply that the religious teacher performance in Islamic Elementary School in South Tangerang City can be improved by participating education and training program and improving work discipline. Abstract

Pedagogic and professional competence should be acquired by teachers in order to gain maximum work productivity whose effect is on the quality of the graduates. Teacher work productivity is strongly influenced by the environment surrounding the madrasah/ schools, i.e. industrial area. This research aims at investigating teachers’ productivity from the aspects of pedagogic competence and professional competence in the industrial area of Bekasi regency. The study was conducted in ten Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic primary schools) by collecting data from surveys and interviews. The data were then analyzed through content analysis. The study found out that 48% of teachers (29 teachers) obtained pedagogic competence below 60%, and 82% of them (49 teachers) obtained professional competence below 60%. It can be concluded that the industrial area is 100% uncorrelated and uninfluential to the teachers’ work discipline, instead it affects the work productivity. This study suggests the schools to conduct teachers’ performance assessment to identify teacher competence in the industrial area of Bekasi. It also suggests the schools to conduct more professional development programs to improve teachers’ competence focusing on pedagogic competence and professionalism competence. Abstract

Hajj service management is one of the main responsibilities of Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA). Besides MoRA, the Law No. 13 Year 2008 on the management of Hajj also mentions that public institutions can be involved in hajj management service ]which includes Special Hajj Service (PIHK). This research is a case study to investigate the management of Special Hajj Service by PIHK Azizi Kencana Wisata in Medan. This study found out that there were some repetitive violations on the Special Hajj service in Medan. These violations might be caused by the insufficient monitoring by the local office of Ministry of Religious Affairs that does not have authority to conduct monitoring and to give penalties to Hajj service providers who commit violations. Abstract

This paper discusses the phenomena of commericals which used Islamic symbols during Ramadhan. The focus of this paper is investigating how the meaning construction occurred in these commercials. The meaning construction mechanism in this study involves: (1) what symbols the commercials use to represent Islam, (2) the relation between Islamic symbols and the marketed products, (3) the situation or context in which the symbols were represented in the commercials, (4) what messages these commercials would like to deliver through Islamic symbols.
