Abstract

The culture of managing waste at the culinary department of SMK Negeri 4 Yogyakarta—a school of Adiwiyata which has a good environment for students to learn and to foster a sense of loving the environment—is by utilizing the organic waste, one of which is the chicken eggshell waste. Chicken eggs are widely used to process foods in the culinary department of SMK Negeri 4 Yogyakarta. Various types of processed foods use chicken eggs as the main ingredient or as supporting/additional material. The need for chicken eggs is quite large every day, causing an abundance of chicken eggshell waste in the culinary department of SMK Negeri 4 Yogyakarta. This experimental study aims to utilize chicken eggshell waste as a vegetable nursery media by direct practice of nursery vegetable plants with chicken eggshell media. The results showed that eggshells can be used as a plant medium and even the growth of seedlings looks better and fertile. This is probably due to the content of calcium, phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium in eggshells.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of competence, independence, interest and discipline individually or jointly on the work readiness of vocational school students in West Lombok District. The population of this study was the students of Agro Business Competencies in Agricultural Product Processing Vocational High School in West Lombok Regency, with a sample of 67 students. Data collection uses a Likert scale questionnaire and five alternative answers. Data of all variables were analyzed with descriptive statistics with an average value of students' work readiness of 82.5%. The effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable was analyzed by partial correlation statistics and multiple regression analysis. The interpretation of the results of data analysis uses a significant level of 5% or 0.05. The results showed a very significant influence between competence, independence, interest and discipline on the work readiness of vocational students in West Lombok district with a significance value of 0,000 and a coefficient of determination of 0.462 or 46.2% meaning together the contribution of all the independent variable to the dependent variable is the remaining 46.2% of 53.8% by variables and other factors outside this study that were not explained by the researcher.Vocational School, Competence, Independence, Interest, Discipline, Work Readiness.

Abstract

The availability of modules to support basic electronic practices based on virtual laboratories has not yet met the needs. The purpose of this development research is to produce basic electronic practice learning devices based on the PSPICE application program. The development procedure uses ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). ADDIE is used to direct the design process as specified. Product performance was tested using ongoing formative evaluation. The product feasibility test uses a comparative analysis of the results of the PSPICE experiment against the theory. The results show that all modules developed can display the same characteristics as their theoretical character. The results show that the modules have very good performance. Modules are suitable for use as a medium for basic electronic practice using PSPICE-based virtual laboratories. The products are in the form of electronic circuits with 31 schematic PSPICE formats. Product results to support basic electronic practices covering topics: capacitor filling and discharging, RC circuits, diode characteristics, wave forming circuits, rectifier circuits, voltage clamp, voltage circuits, transistor characteristics, and amplifier transistor.

Abstract

The study is to determine the quality of workshop practice and media learning of light vehicle engineering in Vocational High Schools in terms of (1) the facilities and infrastructure of laboratory and (2) the use of instructional media practices of light vehicle engineering. The collection of data used the method of observation, documentation, interview. This type of qualitative research is a case study approach, involving five internship supervisor teachers and workshop managers. The results of the study showed that the practice of Automotive Engine Repair with spacious 84 m2, Automotive Chassis Repair with a spacious 72 m2, Automotive Electrical Repair with spacious 24 m2 had not yet met the standard minimum as suggested at the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation number 34 of 2018. The use of practical learning media was less effective because: (1) the comparison of study groups with the area of the workshop was not balanced, (2) the existence of some practicum subjects scheduled in the same day resulted in the students were practicing simultaneously at one time, and (3) the lack of practicum facilities.
