Abstract

Sidoarjo Regency, especially Porong District, is an area affected by the Lapindo disaster. The disaster resulted in the closure of several industries and many workers who lost their jobs, agricultural land designation, migration of population from Siring Village to Lajuk. The solution offered to overcome this disaster is by farming using aquaponics techniques. Aquaponics is a farming technique that combines plants and fish. This technique is generally used in urban areas or narrow land. To increase people's interest in farming is by utilizing technology that is used daily. By making a monitoring tool on aquaponics and using an Android phone as a monitoring display to monitor the flow of pool water in aquaponics. This monitoring is needed because the water pump that is used to drain the water flow will become clogged with leaves from the plants above it. The results of monitoring proved to be useful and made it easier for aquaponics owners to monitor whether the pool water flow was blocked or the water flow stopped.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v6i1.5077

Abstract

Health complaints in high school children are dizziness, stomachache and fever. Problems related to the psychology of students get treatment from teachers, while for physical health problems usually done by the school is sending students home or delivering them to the nearest health center. The integrated Health Promoting School Initiation aim to reactivate the role of UKS. This effort is integrated with the role of the Guidance Counseling (BK) unit. The purpose was to provide integrated Health Promoting School assistance in SMP PGRI 01 Kota Batu. The problem-solving method was activating and training for UKS cadres. Community Service activities carried out in SMP PGRI 01 Kota Batu, from preparation, licensing to evaluation, were conducted in the period of April - September 2019. The activities went well, all training participants consisting of students and teachers followed the activities from beginning to end, as shown from the significant differences from the pre-test and post-test results. Posttest value indicates 100% there is an increase in value. Follow-up of activities that have been carried out in the form of community service programs that will further strengthen the programs that have been initiated in the current program and develop to solve the following problems.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v5i2.3986

Abstract

The library is a learning infrastructure that must be available in every school. Libraries provide information and knowledge needed by students. The development of technology and information is expected to have an impact, namely the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of work. One way is to change the manual system into a computer-assisted system supported by internet technology. In this community service activity, a web-based library application has been designed and built at SMAN 1 Jombang. Application development uses the Waterfall model which consists of 4 stages, namely system requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and maintenance. The library application is built using the Code Ignaiter framework with the Hypertext Pre-Processor (PHP) programming language while the database uses MySQL.The benefit of this application is to address the needs of students for book searches and book ordering, while for school library officers it manages the circulation of book borrowing and reporting. The result of community service that has been implemented is a Web-based library application at SMA Negeri 1 Jombang to improve the quality of library management.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v6i2.5173

Abstract

People in Pesidi village have an additional livelihood as woven bag craftsmen. Many housewives become craftsmen because the production time is flexible and can be done at home. However, the problems faced by woven bag craftsmen include the lack of product innovation, conventional sales systems, low selling prices resulting in low income, craftsmen not having knowledge of digital marketing, and inventory buildup due to lack of sales. The purpose of this community service is to increase digital marketing knowledge and reduce the problems of woven bag craftsmen. The methods used are socialization to local government and craftsmen, training (lectures, simulations, and discussions), and assistance in making digital marketing. The results of the service are in the form of marketing innovation through digital marketing, an increase in income of 7%, an increase in the understanding of woven bag craftsmen about digital marketing, and product sales with an online system via email, Facebook, Instagram, and market places available on digital platforms.

Abstract

Lighting strategy in a building play important role, especially for building with specific function like a small community library in Supiturang. An appropriate lighting design will help user inside the building doing their activities comfortably. The daylight as the primary source of lighting in a building which also can save electricity energy should utilized well. This paper promotes the use of mix model lighting strategies between natural and artificial lighting in order to reach visual comfort inside the building. Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Malang take place as an academics to share knowledge in the society in Supiturang village. The mixed used design of natural and artificial design strategy was used to save electricity energy in building and optimize the visual comfort for reading activities. Methods that used in this community service activity were interview, field survey to get building physical data and simulation of lighting design. During the covid-19 situation, in the beginning there was a problem in executing this activity. Since the policy on the village was not allowing to gather many people in the small community library, of Supiturang village, thus the proposed design was only explained to the head of the Supiturang village as the policy holders. Abstract

Islamic spiritual based anti-drugs counseling is a program of community empowerment activities in Sufism and psychotherapy that aims to increase teacher and community knowledge in preventing drug abuse among students in Batang District. Community empowerment activities through Islamic spiritual-based anti-drug counseling use discussion methods, lectures with audiovisual media, and role playing. The number of respondents was 20 teachers of guidance counseling and 10 community leaders. The results of the activity obtained an increase in the knowledge of guidance counseling teachers and community leaders from 13% to 83% in the good category. In addition, indicate the benefits of Islamic spiritual based anti-drug counseling on the knowledge of guidance counseling teachers and community leaders. Activities undertaken include: providing an understanding of the dangers of drug abuse; do role playing cure drug addicts through Islamic spirituality with Qolbu Brain Rejuvenation (ROQ) techniques, and conduct monitoring and evaluation. Islamic spiritual based anti-drugs counseling activities are considered effective and can be used as an alternative preventing drug abuse in Batang Regency.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v5i2.4059

Abstract

Prosperous sociaty in terms of livelihoods and having high income to fulfill all their needs are absolute desires, so they can avoid poverty, especially for people in rural areas whose lives depend on livestock farming, such as fish farmers. To avoid poverty, people need a program to be developed their knowledge and insight, with the aim of increasing their business income, as was done by a group of catfish farmers in Kampung Coban, Desa Kanigoro, Kecematan Pagelaran, Kabupaten Malang. Improving the knowledge and insight refered to solve their problems faced, namely the high of production and long harvest period; lack of knowledge and skills on how to select superior seeds and seedlings; and the lack of knowledge and skills in profitable business management. The program activities used social interactive methods in the form of coaching or mentoring and designing their own feed making tools. Based on the results of the activities of using tools and guidance, the catfish farmers can make their own feed mixed with factory feed, and increase the income.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v6i2.5285

Abstract

In general, the students at SMAIT Daarul Ilmi do not understand about the prevention of gadget abuse and child protection properly. They also have never received legal counseling regarding gadget abuse and child protection. Thus, it is necessary to provide good knowledge and understanding through socialization and focus group discussions (FGD) to overcome partner problems related to the prevention of gadget abuse and child protection among students of SMAIT Daarul Ilmi, Bukit Kemiling Permai, Bandar Lampung City. This program includes providing knowledge and understanding, prevention of gadget abuse, and child protection. Then proceed with discussion and question and answer, and test the participants' understanding by giving a pre-test and post-test. The results of the program show that this socialization and focus group discussion (FGD) activity is important to increase public knowledge, understanding and legal awareness regarding the prevention of gadget abuse and child protection. Abstract

This program is carried out to increase the income of the "Mekar" women group in Sidoluhur Village, Lawang District, Malang. The "Mekar" women's group is a women's group of equality craftsmen made from patchwork. One of the obstacles they experienced was marketing constraints. Product marketing that has been carried out so far is only done conventionally by entrusting their products in several markets around the villages of Sidoluhur and Lawang. Therefore, an integrated marketing network effort is one of the efforts in increasing the sales turnover of this women's equality group. Efforts are made by providing assistance and training to this group to be activated in marketing products online. Online marketing starts by creating a social media account, selling in the market, then completing it by purchasing online marketing, and finally how to maximize sales on online marketing. Through assistance provided, “Mekar” women's groups that produce equality has been able to increase sales turnover by using online marketing. This increase in sales turnover reached 50%. Understanding the marketing concept of "Mekar" women's groups which were originally only conventional has been developed for online marketing.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v6i1.4819

Abstract

Nowadays, the conditions of economics require housewives to be more creative in finding additional income to support their families. One alternative is to establish SMEs. SME owners need to make regular financial reports and fulfill their tax obligations. To help them, this activity was held at the Gereja Paroki Kamuning Bandung, with participants from the Wanita Katolik Republik Indonesia (WKRI) Paroki Kamuning Bandung. Many of the participants have not made financial reports or fulfilled their obligations as taxpayers. They do not have sufficient information and knowledge about it. The objective of this activity is to provide better understanding and assistance in preparing financial reports and calculating the tax payable based on Government Regulation or PP No. 23 of 2018. These activities consist of first, understanding the condition of the business and understanding of financial statements and tax obligations. Second, we compile a guidebook that consists of steps in making financial reports and calculating payable taxes, conducting training and assistance in preparing financial reports and calculating taxes. The result of this activity is an increase in the participants' understanding of the preparation of financial reports, how to calculate taxes owed, and the reasons why MSME owners must carry out their tax obligations.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v6i2.5169
