Penerbit FKIP Universitas Palangka Raya. Frekuensi terbitan 6 bulanan atau 2 kali dalam setahun. Tingang adalah sejenis burung khas Kalimantan Tengah (Borneo). Gambar burung tingang terdapat pada logo Universitas Palangka Raya. Burung Tingang (enggang) melambangkan pencarian/penelitian ilmu dalam kebebasan, kedekatan dengan alam dan lingkungan. Kanderang adalah suara keras dari burung tingang. Jurnal Ilmiah Kanderang Tingang merupakan sarana untuk menyuarakan hasil pencarian/penelitian ilmu pendidikan. Jurnal Ilmiah Kanderang Tingang memuat artikel hasil kajian dan penelitian pendidikan mengenai kurikulum, pendidik dan perbuatan mendidik/mengajar, peserta didik dan perbuatan belajar, lingkungan pendidikan, penilaian dan evaluasi pendidikan, khususnya bidang pendidikan kimia. Abstract

The Discovery Learning model is another name for discovery learning. As the name implies, this model directs students to be able to find something through the learning process they live. Students are directed to become accustomed to being scientists. The purpose of this research is to describe the understanding of the concept of atomic structure: the constituent particles of the nucleus, atomic number, mass number, isotope, isotope, and isobar. After learning using the Discovery Learning model assisted by worksheet in Class X Students Public Senior High School 1 Paku, East Barito Academic Year 2017/2018. This study involved 25 students. Data on the results of understanding students' concepts were obtained through the provision of written tests in the form of essays (descriptions) of students before and after using the Discovery Learning model, observation sheets of learning management, student learning activity sheets using rubric of group activity assessment. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques. The results showed that the majority of students' understanding of the concept had correctly written and explained the atomic symbol as a symbol of elements that was equipped with an atomic number and a mass number of 80%. Describe the understanding of the atomic number (number of protons) as the identity of an element totaling 77.33%. Describe the meaning of mass number as the number of protons and neutrons in an atomic nucleus amounting to 68%. Write down the mass number, the number of protons, the number of neutrons, the number of electrons in the known notation amounting to 69.33%, explaining the meaning of isotopes, isobars, isotons amounting to 74.66%. The average understanding of students' concepts in atomic structure material amounted to 73.86%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' understanding of the concept of petroleum learning outcomes using the SQ3R type of cooperative learning model (Survey-Question-Read-Recite-Review) in Public Senior High School 4 Palangka Raya in the Academic Year 2017/2018. This study involved 24 students. The instrument used was a concept understanding test in the form of an essay given during pretest and posttest, management of learning management and student questionnaire responses. Data on students' understanding of concepts were obtained from written test results in the form of essays given before and after learning using the SQ3R cooperative learning model. The results showed the average understanding of the concepts of class XI students was 84.3%. The students' understanding of each concept was as follows: (i) most students (84.3%) can explain the theory of the formation of petroleum according to Duplex theory. (ii) Most students (89.1%) can explain the main components of petroleum. (iii) Most students (78.9%) can explain the results of the petroleum fraction that has C11-C14 atoms and their uses. (iv) Most students (82.2%) can explain the results of the petroleum fraction with the lowest boiling point and its uses. (v) Most students (88.6%) can explain the quality of gasoline based on octane numbers. The steps of the SQ3R learning model that most play a role in improving students' understanding of concepts are in the Question, Read and Recite activities.

Abstract

Lewis structure is a sub-material that exists in chemical bonding material that is not mastered by students, so a diagnostic test is needed to reveal the difficulties experienced by students. This study aims to describe the difficulties of class X high school students in Palangka Raya City in understanding the concept of Lewis structure which is traced using two tier multiple choice instruments. The subjects of this study were students of class X from Public Senior High School 1 Palangka Raya, Public Senior High School 3 Palangka Raya and Public Senior High School 4 Palangka Raya with the total number of research subjects being 346 students. This research was conducted in the 2018/2019 academic year. Student difficulties were captured using the Lewis Structure Concept Understanding Test (TPKSL) in the form of reasoned multiple choice questions (Two Tier Multiple Choice) and interviews to confirm the difficulties experienced by students. The results showed that the difficulty of students in state high schools in the city of Palangka Raya in understanding the concept of Lewis structure with the smallest to the largest percentage of difficulties was to determine the electron configuration by 65.59%, determine the valence electron by 67.33%, determine the Lewis symbol by 67.33 %, and determine Lewis's structure 69.37%.

Abstract

Education is a conscious effort carried out by guiding, teaching and training students that can cause changes in students with the aim of achieving conformity between students and their environment. The theory underlying education is basically divided into inductive-oriented theory of association meaning that your building is in the development of education is based on units of knowledge, attitudes and skills to become more universal units, the flow in this theory is the flow of behaviorism or better known as the flow of stimulus-response. the flow that assumes that education is directed at the creation of new behaviors in students . Learning is an important part that cannot be separated from the education process. Learning is a process of changing behavior and mindset experienced by individuals. Cognitive learning theory emphasizes that the most important thing in the education process is how the process occurs rather than the results achieved.

Abstract

Arranging lesson plans refers to the characteristics of students not in accordance with the demands of 21st century learning. This study aims to develop the Lesson Plan review instrument and supervision of 21st century skill-based learning using research and development (R&D). There are three design models for instrument development, namely: 1) a preliminary study, 2) the development stage, and 3) the evaluation stage. The results showed that (1) the factual model of the Lesson Plan review instrument and the supervision of learning in Central Kalimantan Province did not meet the suitability of the preliminary, core, and closing activities as well as the description in the Lesson Plan, so that it had not been used as a teacher's reference in perfecting the Lesson Plan; (2) instrument development begins with, (a) reviewing the literature so that 5 (five) components of the Lesson Plan are obtained and three stages of supervision are carried out, (b) validating the instruments according to the expert includes validity, level of importance, and usefulness on average. the average percentage reached 92.19. The evaluation phase is to test the practicality of the instrument showing (a) the observer makes it easy to study lesson plans and supervision of learning, (b) assist teachers in perfecting lesson plans according to the minimum substance in the lesson plans, (c) schools have measurement tools for lesson plans and learning supervision, and (d) Excel-based instruments that have been successfully developed refer to the skills of 21st century teachers and the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Stoichiometry discuss several concepts, one of which is a limiting reagent. Students studying boundary reagent material need to understand and master the prerequisite concepts namely chemical formulas, chemical equations and mole concepts. The root cause of the low reasoning ability of the concept can be sourced from the teacher, students and the environment. Based on a number of things it requires an appropriate learning strategy where the teacher does not present material that is abstract but guides students thinking in reasoning to obtain new knowledge. One of them is by using Worksheets. Learning that uses worksheet-inductive to be able to optimally increase student learning activities and at the same time motivate students to think critically. Learning using worksheet-inductive affects the ability of students to understand the concept of limiting reagents. This study aims to: describe the learning outcomes of the concept of limiting reagents. This study involved 68 students of class X MIPA-5 and X MIPA-7 Public Senior High School 1 Palangka Raya. The instruments used were the pretest and posttest question sheets, the answer sheets for the practice questions on the worksheet-Inductive. Data was collected through three stages, namely pretest, implementation of worksheet-Inductive learning, and posttest. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that students were able to: (a) apply the precondition concept of 88%; (b) understand the definition of a limiting reagent of 78.2%; and (c) determine the limiting reagent which is converted from the mass, volume, or number of particles of known substances by 71.87%.

Abstract

Religion is one of the most decisive factors in promoting the values and virtues of life in society. Human and Religion are a couple who always color life. There is no human who is not religious. Religion is part of human life. When religion influences life, at the same time behavior will affect one's life. Through its religious teachings and practices, religion directs the perspective of humans and society. In this article the author wants to discuss how religion plays the role of forming this perspective. The author focuses this study on ritual activities, Scriptures and ethical teachings that are generally carried out in every religion in teaching values. The purpose of this discussion is to raise the reader's awareness about the relevance of religion in human life and the importance of paying attention to the contents of religious teachings in order to promote the common good for all creation.

Abstract

Students have difficulty understanding gas laws. The aim of this study was to describe the difficulty of students understanding gas laws in class XI IPA of Public Senior High School Palangka Raya in 2018/2019 academic year. This research is a descriptive study. The subjects in this study were students of class XI Science of Public Senior High School 1, 2, and 3 Palangka Raya with a total of 173 students. Data collected using written tests and interviews. The results showed that students had difficulty in understanding the gas laws which included the concepts of: (1) determining the volume of gas resulting from the gas reaction with the same ratio of gas reactants but the ratio of different reagent gas volumes reached 68.20%; (2) determination of the volume of reaction gas with the same ratio of coefficient and volume of reactant gas reaching 65.89%; (3) determination of the number of molecules, initial pressure, final pressure, initial volume and final volume of a gas from two different conditions using the ideal gas equation each reaching 32.94%; 21.38%; 53.17%; 15.60%; and 74.56%.

Abstract

Education is a way for humans throughout their lives to become a means of transmitting and transforming values and knowledge. In the frame of instilling the character of the nation, excluded from education. Character education is important for human life, so the role played by the education world does not only show moral knowledge, it is also agreed to accept and be willing to take real moral actions. The problem of character or morality has become a common problem. Character crisis that is marked by reality in society, it really happened. Not only that, a crisis of trust also occurs in the elite community groups, namely corruption that is increasingly rampant. This demoralization is because the learning process that facilitates moral education and character is merely textual and does not prepare learners to respond to contradictory lives.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the effect of providing guidance on solving exercises in direct learning towards understanding the concept of fixed comparative law (Proust Law) in Class X Students of SMA Negeri 4 Palangkaraya in the academic year 2018/2019. This type of research is quantitative research. Researchers conduct experiments by determining samples for the control class and the experimental class. Research subjects were 71 grade X students of SMA Negeri 4 Palangka Raya City in 2018/2019 school year. The instrument used was in the form of concept understanding tests (test I and test II) in the form of essays totaling 4 questions and practice questions with completion instructions which were packaged in the form of question sheets containing the steps of problem solving. Based on the results of statistical tests using the t-test shows that there is a difference in the increase in understanding of the concept of the law of comparative learning outcomes using the exercises with the solution to the completion of the problem using the exercises without the solution to the completion of class X students of SMA Negeri 4 Palangka Raya. The average increase in concept understanding in the n-gain experimental class (73.48%) is higher than the control class (54.57%).
