Abstract

Literacy is not a matter of talking and discussing the improvement of reading and writing skills, yet more than that, it is extending as a kind of social practice which involving peoples mundane life to generate specific and unique products of each person. Luckily, literacy can be a put in other subjects; literature and education. In this paper, the notion of third space in literacy is applied as the tool to analyze the role of a cave in Tom Schulmans play Dead Poets Society, which then influencing a group of Welton Academy students awareness of their personal identities, their own cognition and their knowledge needed. To examine the students' movements in connecting three spaces; home, school, and cave, the researcher uses the Knowledge and Cognitive Process dimension, which is retrieved from Blooms taxonomy revision as proposed by Krathwohl (2002). The result confirms that the role of a cave, as third space, assists much the students to seek their own voices and identities, and definitely rises their confidence, creativities, and innovations for better transformation. Keywords: Third space, Literacy, Literature, Teaching

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran IPS di sekolah selama ini lebih ditekankan kepada penguasaan materi sebanyak mungkin sehingga proses pembelajaran bersifat kaku dan terpusat pada satu arah. Kesempatan bagi siswa untuk belajar lebih aktif dengan melakukan eksplorasi terhadap materi yang diajarkan terabaikan. Kegiatan belajar lebih ditandai dengan budaya hafalan daripada proses berpikir. Pembiasaan ini mengakibatkan siswa kurang mampu menjawab pertanyaan berbasis masalah yang diajukan guru. Hasil pengamatan di lapangan, pada waktu siswa  dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan metode diskusi teman sebangku begitu kesulitan dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang diawali dengan kalimat tanya mengapa atau bagaimana. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hasil tes  siswa 70,2, dibawah KKM yang ditentukan dengan prosentase keberhasilan 45,2%, masih jauh dari ketuntasan klasikal 85%. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut, maka peneliti mencoba menggunakan pembelajaran model inkuiri sosial untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan berbasis masalah. Tujuan penelitian  ini adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan berbasis masalah  melalui penemuan (inkuiri sosial). Model inkuiri sosial adalah  proses pembelajaran dimana siswa tidak hanya berperan sebagai penerima pelajaran melalui penjelasan guru secara verbal, tetapi mereka berperan untuk menemukan sendiri inti dari materi pelajaran itu. Berdasarkan hasil tes pasca pembelajaran inkuiri sosial diperoleh nilai  rata-rata kelas siklus I adalah 74,9 (71%) dan  siklus II yaitu  85,2  (93,6%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka disimpulkan pembelajaran model inkuiri sosial dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa SMPN 2 Jogoroto Jombang. Model inkuiri sosial  dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sosiologi menjadi penting bagi penanganan perubahan-perubahan social yang terjadi dalam masyarakat. Soiologi yang lahir atas jawaban perubahan Industri di awal modernisasi Eropa, mempengaruhi segala aspek kehidupan manusia dari tradisionalitas menjadi modern. Perkembangan sosiologi di Indonesia tidak lepas dari peranan penjajahan Belanda. Ilmuwan Belanda seperti Van Leur, Souck H, dan lainnya tertarik mempelajari kondisi multicultural di Indonesia, dilanjutkan para ilmuwan pribumi. Sosiologi secara kontinyutas berperan besar sebagai ilmu dasar untuk melestarikan ketahanan budaya di berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Kondisi keragaman etnis merupakan peninggalan yang harus diwariskan melalui pembelajaran di sekolaha-sekolah menengah. Di daerah Jember,  hibrida cultural antara budaya Jawa dan Madura merupakan peninggalan dari tradisi masyarakat migrasi. Dibuktikan dengan adanya budaya ˜dhalung menjadikan masyarakat Jember berbahasa Jawa dialek Jember, dan tradisi lainnya. Impelementasi kearifan local dengan mata pelajaran menarik perhatian penulis untuk mengkaji Budaya Pandhalungan sebagai Cultural Herritage dalam sosiologi. Hasil dari penelitian adalah meningkatnya pelestarian dan kelestarian dari Budaya Pandhalungan di kalangan siswa terutama di SMA Negeri 3 Jember dengan pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang terintegrasi dalam mata pembelajaran sosiologi dengan model pendekatan kreatif-kritis. Hal ini dapat menjadi potensi bagi kecintaan tanah air generasi muda, sehingga dapat berfokus pada kemajuan bangsa Indonesia.

Abstract

The existence of innovative learning allows dynamism in learning. The presence of technology in the world of education is to help teachers and students to obtain the speed of information, create innovative learning, and facilitate all teaching and learning activities. One result of technology that can be utilized in learning is the presence of a smartphone. On the smartphone, there is a QR Code media that can be downloaded via Google Play. One of the sociological materials, namely social conflict is the choice to be presented with QR Code media. The implementation is that students from one of the groups download the QR Code on their smartphone so that they can scan the assignments given by the teacher in the form of barcodes. Previously the teacher had prepared questions about the subject of social conflict in the form of barcodes. Gurupun also download a barcode generator on a smartphone to be able to write the problem, then the final result in the form of a barcode. The results in the form of barcodes are then printed. Then students do the scanning on the printed barcode and the task or problem to appear will appear. Completion of tasks is done in groups so as to accelerate the process. Learning with QR Code media also includes 21st century educational abilities, including literacy, strengthening character education, and 4C (critical, communicative, collaborative, and creative). Abstract

The existence of the Constitutional Court Decision Number 14 / PUU-XI / 2013 in the trial case of Law Number 42 Year 2008 concerning General Elections of the President and Vice President whose decisions are final states that the holding of the 2019 General Elections and the subsequent General Elections shall be held simultaneously. The idea of holding a simultaneous General Election in 2019 certainly had a political impact, both nationally and regionally. The ruling of the Constitutional Court gave birth to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. This has had a huge impact and challenge for the Indonesian people in improving the electoral system and implementing a better democracy. The purpose of this study is to find out how to realize political education for voters ahead of the 2019 simultaneous elections. This study is a juridical normative approach to legislation. From the results of the study there is a legal vacuum that requires the General Election Commission to conduct Socialization, Voter Education, and Community Participation in the 2019 Election. In the Regional Head Election process there are technical rules governing the Socialization, Voter Education, and Community Participation, but do not include the threat of sanctions if it does not carry out the said activity. The resulting conclusion is that political education for voters ahead of the 2019 concurrent elections is very important to carry out, as an effort to realize the Sovereignty of a Strong State. The resulting recommendation is to make a legal rule regarding the obligation to carry out political education for voters ahead of the 2019 simultaneous elections as an effort to realize the Strong Sovereign State Voters in the 2019 Election along with the threat of sanctions for election administrators in an Act.Keywords: 2019 Election, Voter Education, Strong Sovereign State Voters.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui metode Permainan Pasang Pohon Berbuah.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas di kelas VII A SMPN 2 Menganti Gresik yang dilakukan dalam 3 siklus. Siklus1, 2 , dan 3 masing-masing terdiri dari 2 pertemuan. Setiap siklus meliputi tahapan planning (rencana), action (tindakan), observation (pengamatan), dan reflection (refleksi). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa : 1) soal tes formatif ; 2) lembar observasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Permainan Pasang Pohon Berbuah terbukti dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS pada babKerajaan Islam di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sikap dan minat peserta didik smp muhammadiyah 15 surabaya, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan jumlah 22 responden. Data diperoleh melalui angket dengan pertanyaan yang relevan. Kemudian data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui persentase dan diolah dengan frekuensi dibagi dengan jumlah responden dikali 100 %. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan, dapat diidentifikasikan secara seginifikan, maka hasil dari  keseluruhan rata-rata indikator yaitu indikator sikap dengan persentase terbesar 18 (82 %) pada kategori skor tidak pernah dengan jumlah rata-rata 2,54 dan indikator minat terbesar 15 (68,1 %) pada kategori skor tidak pernah dengan jumlah rata-rata 2,44, rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 2,85 %.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian  ini adalah; (1),  meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran (2), meningkatkan hasil belajar dengan penerapan model inquiry learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas pola Hopkins. Pada siklus I penerapan model inquiry learning lebih efektif 12,51% dalam meningkatkan partisipasi (keterampilan), dan lebih efektif 8,33% dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar (pengetahuan). Artinya dalam pembelajaran prasiklus peserta didik mencapai tingkat partisipasi (keterampilan) 43,05% dan hasil belajar (pengetahuan) 56,95%, maka dengan model inquiry learning peserta didik akan meningkat partisipasinya 55,56% dan hasil belajar 65,28% Sedangkan pada siklus 2 penerapan model inquiry learning untuk partisipasi (keterampilan) lebih efektif  20,83% dan untuk aspek pengetahuan lebih efektif 13,84%, maka capaian ketuntasan belajar pada partisipasi (keterampilan) sebesar 76,39%  dan aspek pengetahuan sebesar 79,12%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan penerapan model inquiry learning dapat dikatakan lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan partisipasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran Sejarah Indonesia.

Abstract

This research explores the effects of three instructional methods (Picture Walk, Know-Want To Learn, and Directed Reading Thinking Activity) on the students recognition and recall of historical texts. The subjects were 247 tenth graders of SMA Negeri 1 Sumberpucung. Static-group comparison design was employed that examined 3 treatments: picture walk group, know-want to learn group, and Directed Reading Thinking Activity group. To evaluate the treatment effects, MANOVA was conducted on two measures (recognition and recall tests). Results indicated that PW, KWL, and DRTA yield statistically significant effects on recognition and recall tests. Using post hoc analysis, DRTA is better than the two other methods.

Abstract

This research related to Implementation of instruction based students activities and Students learning Motivation toward students learning achievementt of Ninth Grade Students State Junior High School 3 Pamekasan regency . The students learning achievementt is influenced by Implementation of instruction based students activities. Additionally it is influenced by Students learning Motivation. Good and regularly Implementation of instruction based students activities brings a positive effect on the students learning achievement and a high learning motivation in teaching will increase the students achievement.            The purpose of this research is (1) to describe  Implementation of instruction based students activities toward students learning achievement. (2) to describe the significant influence of the Students learning Motivation toward students learning achievement . (3) to describe the significant influence of Implementation of instruction based students activities and Students learning Motivation simultaniously toward students learning achievement.            The design of this research is descriptive quantitative. The subject of the research is Ninth Grade Students of State Junior High School 3 Pamekasan. The data collecting technique is by giving some questionnaires. Data analyzing technique used patial and multi-regression computerized SPSS 17.00 program for windows. The Result and the discussion as follows:  a) There is a significant influence on the Implementation of instruction based students activities  (X1) toward students learning achievement is about 0,312. b) There is a significant influence on the Students learning Motivation (X2) toward students learning achievement is about 0,062 by the significanct level 0,000, on t-account, that means smaller than 0,05. It can be concluded that X1 and X2 are very significant. c) There is a significant influence on the Implementation of instruction based students activities and Students learning Motivation simultaneously toward students learning achievement is about 17,617 by the significanct level 0,000, on F-account, that means smaller than 0,05. It can be concluded that X1 and X2 are very significant toward Y.
