Abstract

The increasing number of Social Security Agency of Health (BPJS Kesehatan) participants who are inactive or drop out be a threat to participation in the health insurance program in Indonesia. Inactive participants in August 2022 recorded 45,987,956. The most common cause is not paying premiums according to applicable regulations. The purpose of the research is to analyze the factors that influence the willingness to pay for BPJS Kesehatan participants using the contingent valuation method approach. This research used quantitative methods with an analytic observational approach through surveys. The unit of analysis in research was the individual. The reachable population for the study were BPJS Kesehatan participants in the category of non-Recipients of Contribution Assistance (non-PBI) in the BPJS Kesehatan Jember working area (Jember and Lumajang Regencies). The sample size was 167 respondents taken using the quota sampling technique. Data analysis with multiple linear regression. The results showed that the Perceived Benefit Package, Perceived Sacrifice, and Free Mentality contributed to the formation of willingness to pay premiums regularly. Only the Conformity Effect does not significantly contribute of willingness to pay premiums regularly. Perceived Sacrifice and Free Mentality contribute in opposite directions. This means that if the respondent's Perceived Sacrifice and Free Mentality are high, it will affect the low willingness to pay premiums. It is necessary to develop a program that can provide added value for Non-PBI participants who so far rarely or have never used health services. This aims to maintain the motivation of participants to remain willing to pay premiums regularly.

Abstract

Kesum plants have demonstrated robust antioxidant activity and possess the potential to function as antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, and antiulcer agents. Further research is necessary to investigate the activity and toxicity of kesum stem preparations. The objective of this study is twofold: first, to ascertain the antioxidant activity of an ethanol extract of kesum stem; and second, to determine the level of acute toxicity in the kidneys of Wistar rats. The extraction process was conducted using the maceration method, employing 70% ethanol as the solvent. The antioxidant activity test demonstrated that the ethanol extract of kesum stem exhibited an IC50 value of 72.03 ppm, thereby classifying it as a strong antioxidant. The acute toxicity test demonstrated that the ethanol extract of kesum stem (Phyllanthus emblica) at doses of 500 mg/kg, 1000 mg/kg, and 2000 mg/kg did not induce toxic effects on the kidneys. This finding was substantiated by the observation that the levels of ureum and creatinine remained within the normal range. The findings of this study, derived from statistical analysis employing the analysis of variance (ANOVA) method, indicated a p-value of 0.632 (p > 0.05) for serum urea examination and 0.06 (p > 0.05) for serum creatinine examination. These findings suggest that there is no statistically significant difference between the treatment groups. The safety of all three doses has been demonstrated by the absence of toxicity effects on rat kidney organs.

Abstract

Societal stigma often serves as a catalyst for the development of resilience. Resilience, in this context, is defined as an individual's capacity to cope with their personal circumstances. Consequently, enhancing the resilience of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) is of significant urgency, as it is directly linked to an improvement in their quality of life. This study aimed to develop an e-module incorporating Balinese local wisdom and to evaluate its effectiveness in increasing knowledge, scores on the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), social support, and reducing stigma among PLWHA. A quantitative research methodology was employed, commencing with the development of the e-module, which underwent prior expert and content validity testing. Subsequently, an effectiveness test was conducted with 82 PLWHA respondents in Buleleng Regency. The Gregory and Lawshe methods were utilized for the analysis of expert and content validity. Prior to the effectiveness testing, a Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was administered to assess data normality, the results of which indicated a non-normal distribution, thereby necessitating the use of the Wilcoxon test for subsequent analyses. The findings revealed a statistically significant increase in BRS scores, knowledge levels, and family support among PLWHA following the intervention with the "Bondres Bali" e-module. Furthermore, a significant reduction in perceived stigma was observed when comparing pre-intervention and post-intervention states.

Abstract

Menstrual cycle irregularities in the first 2-3 years after adolescents experience menarche are a common problem that is easily found. Adolescents who experience menstrual cycle irregularities are also considered to have disturbances in their sleep quality. This study aims to investigate the relationship between sleep quality and menstrual cycles in adolescents participating in volleyball extracurricular activities at SMPN 1 and SMPN 2 Lawang, Malang Regency. The research design employed an analytical approach, utilizing a purposive sampling technique. The respondents of the study were 55 adolescents. The research instruments used were the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Menstrual Cycle Assessment Instrument developed by the author. Data analysis using bivariate, carried out with statistical calculations and displayed in a frequency distribution table. The results of the study were that 45.5% of respondents had abnormal menstrual cycles, and 63.6% of respondents had poor sleep quality. The relationship between the two showed high significance (p-value=0,001), girls who had poor sleep quality had a 9.6 times greater risk of experiencing poor menstrual cycles compared to adolescent girls who had good sleep quality.

Abstract

One of the key factors influencing infant health is successful breastfeeding. A mother's perception of self-efficacy plays a crucial role in breastfeeding success, highlighting the need for appropriate breastfeeding education. The limited number of studies that comprehensively evaluate the impact of breastfeeding education on maternal self-efficacy and breastfeeding success prompted this study. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of breastfeeding education in improving both aspects. A scoping review design was employed, using a descriptive analytical approach. Articles utilized were randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Relevant articles were searched using keywords in 4 online databases with inclusion criteria, resulting in 15 articles as the reference sources for this study. Overall, 15 articles stated that breastfeeding education can have positive impacts on both mothers and infants. Three themes were identified regarding the effectiveness of breastfeeding education: sources of breastfeeding education and support (researchers, midwives/healthcare providers, community), educational media (technology, booklets, peer groups), and the impacts of breastfeeding education (self-efficacy, frequency of breastfeeding problems, breastfeeding success). Education is not only provided offline but can also be delivered online by leveraging technological advancements. The effectiveness of breastfeeding education is not only determined by the content delivered but also by the sources of education and the use of educational media, thus potentially leading to increased maternal self-efficacy and breastfeeding success.
