Abstract

Abstract

Since the beginning of the case, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has grown dramatically on a global scale. Pregnant women with HIV are one of the groups that receive worse negative impacts due to changes in health and social life due to being infected with HIV. Several studies have revealed coping strategies that pregnant women with HIV carry out to continue their lives. Therefore, this scoping review aims to identify coping strategies carried out by pregnant women in facing difficulties after being diagnosed with HIV. The study was established based on a scoping review framework by Arskey and O'Malley. Article searches were carried out on the MEDLINE and Scopus databases in early 2023. The selection of articles refers to inclusion criteria which include: the results of research on coping strategies carried out by pregnant women with HIV in facing difficulties, having a full text in English, and published in 2014-2023. The results of the analysis of 18 selected studies found two themes related to pregnant women diagnosed with HIV, namely the difficulties faced by pregnant women with HIV and coping strategies carried out by pregnant women with HIV. Almost all pregnant women with HIV have faced difficulties in controlling their negative emotions and stigma about HIV. However, positive coping strategies make pregnant women with HIV improve and live their next lives. The experience of pregnant women with HIV who have successfully faced their difficulties with positive coping strategies needs to be considered by the government and health service providers in managing the reduction of HIV prevalence.

Abstract

Background: Anaemia is a major global health issue. Anaemia in adolescents has substantial dangers and is primarily caused by a lack of iron, which is strongly associated with the seriousness of the disorder. In addition, adolescent females who have anaemia are prone to acquiring anaemia during pregnancy. These factors can influence the growth and development of the fetus in the womb and increase the chances of complications during pregnancy and labour. Indonesia still grapples with several unresolved nutritional problems, with a specific focus on the high occurrence of anaemia among youths. Integrating nutrition education is a successful approach to reducing the prevalence of anaemia. Purpose: To provide a thorough analysis of the impact of nutrition education media on anaemia, particularly in improving anaemia knowledge among adolescent females. Method: A literature review study involves the systematic retrieval of pertinent scholarly papers from databases such as PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and WorldCat. The data was collected from scholarly publications published between 2018 and 2024, with a particular focus on Indonesian and English articles that are fully accessible. Results: Indicated that the use of educational media on nutrition to address anaemia had a substantial effect on increasing awareness of anaemia among adolescent females. Nutrition education can be delivered through nutrition Conclusion: Counselling, as well as using diverse media platforms like Healthy Millennial Cards, books, leaflets, posters, comics, flipcharts, motion videos, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Furthermore, it can be disseminated through pedagogical approaches such as gamification, Team Game Tournaments (TGT), and peer group instruction. Suggestion: To enhance the efficacy of research on the prevention of anaemia among adolescents, it is advisable to employ a wider range of research methodologies, conduct studies over an extended period, engage communities and families, conduct a more thorough analysis of influencing factors, utilize advanced educational technologies, and assess the impact of health policies.

Abstract

Breast milk provides optimal nutrition for newborns, supporting their growth and development while meeting essential nutritional needs. Exclusive breastfeeding is crucial; however, many mothers face challenges that hinder their ability to breastfeed exclusively. Additionally, some parents believe that breast milk alone is insufficient, leading them to supplement with formula milk. Methods: This literature review analyzed studies from Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Garuda, published between 2014 and 2024 in English or Indonesian. Only full-text quantitative or qualitative studies were included, assessed using the CASP tool, and data extraction followed a structured approach. The synthesis identified six predominant factors contributing to the failure of exclusive breastfeeding and the use of formula milk, which were further analyzed for interconnections. Results: The investigation produced 20 studies that highlighted the factors influencing formula milk use and the failure of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia. Key elements identified include understanding, spousal/family support, promotion of formula milk, maternal disposition, profession, and education. These factors were found to interact and exacerbate the challenges of exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: The review found that inadequate breastfeeding practices in Indonesia are primarily due to factors such as lack of knowledge, insufficient family support, the aggressive promotion of formula milk, maternal attitudes, work demands, and educational background. Addressing these issues through targeted interventions can improve breastfeeding rates and reduce the reliance on formula milk.

Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS BEmONC has been proven to diminish both newborn and mother death rates and morbidity. The study identified three main areas for improving and assessing the determinants of interprofessional collaboration (IPC) in the implementation of BEmONC services: team performance, management, and BEmONC evaluation.   ABSTRACT Objective: Maternal and infant mortality is a global challenge due to limited healthcare access. The WHO’s BEmONC program in Indonesia aims to reduce MMR and IMR, but its effectiveness is suboptimal due to service-related issues. This study identified factors affecting essential obstetric and neonatal service implementation in primary healthcare facilities. Materials and Methods: A literature review was conducted using a descriptive analysis approach, supported by Mendeley and Biblioshiny in R-Studio. Sixteen peer-reviewed articles were selected from four online databases, based on predefined inclusion criteria. Results: The study identified three critical domains for improving and evaluating the performance of BEmONC teams. These domains include optimizing team efficacy through factors such as healthcare personnel, infrastructure, collaboration, and targeted training. Furthermore, effective BEmONC management is essential, encompassing policy formulation, communication strategies, operational improvements, and robust leadership. Lastly, evaluating the implementation of BEmONC requires consideration of factors such as self-efficacy, healthcare workforce capacity, and societal trust, confidence, and recognition. Key contributors to the success of BEmONC include efficient collaboration, streamlined administration, and focused evaluation. Enhancing maternal and newborn health service delivery can be achieved by addressing infrastructure deficiencies, improving healthcare worker performance, and fostering community trust. Conclusion: Effective teamwork, robust management, and community confidence are pivotal in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes within BEmONC services.
