Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of nebulizer disinfection contaminated with Klebsiella pneumoniae using one of the materials widely used in hospitals, chlorhexidine. The research method used in vitro experiments. K. pneumoniae was isolated from hospital samples and then multiplied for 24 hours. The nebulizer jet was then intentionally contaminated with K. pneumoniae and disinfected using chlorhexidine solution at various concentrations. The effectiveness of the disinfection process was then assessed using culture and calculated based on the number of colonies formed after the disinfection process. The results showed that chlorhexidine was effective in significantly reducing the number of K. pneumoniae colonies, especially at a concentration of 2.5%. The use of chlorhexidine as a routine disinfectant in pneumatic nebulizers could be an effective strategy in the prevention of VAP, thus improving safety in critically ill patients. This study supports the use of chlorhexidine as part of a disinfection protocol to reduce the incidence of VAP caused by K. pneumoniae. In conclusion, chlorhexidine is effective in reducing the number of K. pneumoniae colonies so that it can be a disinfectant to prevent Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP). Abstract

This research aims to develop a suicide prevention intervention for adolescents by utilizing technology to reach adolescents with suicidal behavior effectively and efficiently. The method used was a literature review with articles originating from the Scopus, Web of Science, Wiley Online, and Science Direct databases, to search for keywords using the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) system related to relevant articles in this research. The research results resulted in an initial 354 articles. Articles were selected based on publications in the last 5 years and did not include literature reviews or systematic reviews, screening 187 articles. The final results of the 15 articles synthesized showed that there was effectiveness of screening interventions, education, DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) skills, and help seeking in adolescents with suicidal behavior. The conclusion of this research is that suicide prevention interventions for teenagers by utilizing application technology on smartphones have proven to be effective and efficient in reaching and helping teenagers with suicidal ideation. Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate digital interventions aimed at preventing falls among individuals aged 65 and older. The methodology employed involves a literature review assessing the effectiveness of various technologies in reducing fall risks, as well as identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. The study includes elderly participants using digital technology or interventions compared to a control group receiving standard care or no intervention. Outcomes considered include reduced fall risk, fall incidents, or severity of fall-related injuries. Studies meeting inclusion criteria encompass experimental designs (randomized controlled trials, controlled trials) or observational studies with adequate controls, available in English. PubMed, Scopus, and IEEE Xplore databases were utilized up to June 19, 2024, with additional reference searches. Research findings indicate that out of 608 identified articles, 10 studies met inclusion criteria following screening processes. These studies utilized a variety of technologies such as mobile applications, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), machine learning, and robotics. Conducted in various countries, these studies demonstrate diverse applications; for instance, UK studies used mobile apps and 3D games for fall awareness, Chinese studies employed VR for rehabilitation, and German studies explored robotics for fall prevention. The research concludes by highlighting the potential of technologies like VR, AR, machine learning, and robotics in reducing fall risks among the elderly, thereby enhancing healthcare practices and quality of life. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of education about postoperative nausea and vomiting on increasing parental knowledge and reducing the incidence of dehydration in children. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach with a control group. The results showed a significant increase in parental knowledge about nausea and vomiting management in the intervention group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the practical implications of this study are significant. Education about postoperative nausea and vomiting effectively increases parental knowledge and reduces the incidence of dehydration in children. The education program, which is routinely applied to pediatric patients undergoing surgery, demonstrates its potential to improve the quality of care and reduce postoperative complications. Abstract

This study aimed to explore the relationship between gender and family structure by providing specific nutritional interventions to children aged 6-23 months. The method used was analytical observational with a cross-sectional approach. The research results from chi-square analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the child's gender and family type and the provision of specific nutrition (p value <0.05). The majority of male children received positive specific nutrition, namely 52.2%, and girls received positive specific nutrition, namely 64.9%. The nuclear family type provided specific nutrition positively by 63.1% and the large family type provided specific nutrition negatively by 52.8%. In conclusion, the child's gender and family type have a significant influence on the provision of specific nutrition and nuclear families are more likely to provide better nutrition. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using audio-visual media on increasing knowledge about clean and healthy living behavior in school-aged children. The method used is a quantitative research method with an experimental research type of one-group prepost design. The research sample consisted of 59 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The results of this study show that knowledge is in the good category after being given the intervention with an n value of 30, which means that 30 respondents experienced an increase in knowledge. And the sufficient value is n 2, which means there are 2 respondents with insufficient knowledge even though they have been given the intervention, and there are 27 respondents whose knowledge remains good or sufficient after being given the intervention. Based on the statistical output test, a significant value of 0.000 was obtained. This means that H0 is rejected because the significant value is <0.05 and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of the use of audio-visual media in increasing knowledge about clean and healthy living behavior in school-aged children Keywords: School age children, audio visuals, clean and healthy living behavior
