Abstract

Garbage is part of life on this earth and the amount is increasing along with increased human activity. The amount of waste disposed of in landfills is increasing as human activities increase. Al Fath Talang Keramat Islamic Boarding School in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra is one of the educational facilities which has 118 students, with a total of 17 administrators. This Islamic boarding school already has good environmental management but there has been no effort to reduce the amount of waste that will be taken to the TPA. The purpose of this community service activity is to make the Islamic boarding school environment more environmentally sound towards Green Islamic Boarding Schools by involving students and Islamic boarding school caretakers (partners) as actors. Partners will have the ability to sort and manage waste and are expected to have economic value and be sustainable. The service method is carried out in several stages. The implementation stage begins with outreach to partners. The next stage is to conduct waste sorting training based on the types of organic and inorganic waste. Furthermore, training on making invitation words is carried out. The mentoring method is carried out for students who have attended socialization and training as many as 10 students. This community service activity has had an impact on knowledge and behavior change for students and pesantren administrators. Partners have acquired skills in sorting and processing organic and inorganic waste, and making waste of economic value. This can be seen from the results of evaluations with partners, who previously did not know anything about the problem of waste management, and after the activities were able to properly manage waste in the pesantren environment. This has an impact on the pesantren environment which will slowly move towards green pesantren as expected. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the service activities carried out by the PKM team have been carried out well.

The community of Jelantik Village, Central Lombok Regency is one of the assisted villages of Mataram University. Based on observations, there are still many village communities who are lacking. Jelantik Village Community, Central Lombok Regency, is one of the assisted villages of Mataram University. Based on observations, there are still many village people who do not understand and use electrical equipment not in accordance with the 2011 General Electrical Installation Requirements procedures and standards. The purpose of community service is to provide an understanding of the importance of Occupational Safety and Health (HSE) applied in their respective work environments. . The method used is socialization and giving questionnaires by calculating the percentage of the Guttman scale. The Guttman scale is used to determine the percentage of understanding of the HSE electricity category. Based on the results of the tabulation, the number of socialization participants was 13 out of 20 participants invited. The age range of the participants was between 18-40 years with an average education level of high school level and one with a bachelor's degree. Questionnaire results were assessed using the Guttman scale, with a total of 56 yes answers and 48 not yet answers, so the average score was 4.3. Based on the average score, it can be determined that the percentage is 33.07% on the Guttman scale in the range of 21% -40%. These results indicate that the respondents' understanding of HSE electricity is in the weak/less category. This result is due to the lack of socialization carried out by related parties, causing a high risk of accidents such as fire.

Abstract

The quality of health services to the community must always be improved as a form of responsibility for health workers. One of the important things in improving the quality is maintaining the quality of medical equipment. Some things that must be considered in medical devices are the measuring value and safety of the device itself. Some of the tools that are often used in hospitals are Oxygen Concentrator, Nebulizer, SPO2, ECG, Defibrillator, Bedside Monitor, Ventilator, Infuse Pump, Syringe Pump, Baby Incubator, Phototherapy, Bubble CPAP, Doppler and Suction Pump. This community service activity is to assist the hospital in taking an inventory of the health equipment they have, making it easier to collect data on which equipment can still be used or must be repaired and conduct training for technicians and medical personnel. The method of activities carried out is observation, lectures, inventory and direct practice of function testing and repair of medical devices. This activity was attended by several technicians and medical personnel from Payangan General Hospital in the hope that all medical personnel will understand the medical equipment that is often used. The results of this activity were several equipment that needed repairs such as tools, ECG, Nebulizer, Baby Incubator, Oxygen Concentrator, Suction Pump, Phototherapy, Bubble CPAP and Doppler. This activity indirectly provides knowledge and experience to medical personnel, with the hope that the service life of all medical equipment will be longer.

Abstract

Currently, the people in Desa Jembayan Dalam have only been trained about processing organic waste based on the concept of composting. However, the practice had not been sustained due to wasting time in the process of composting organic waste to become a usable product. The knowledge of the people in Desa Jembayan Dalam on organic waste management is still limited. This community service activity aimed to introduce people about the application of organic waste treatment by using black soldier fly (BSF) larvae and to foster the interest of people in processing organic waste using BSF larvae/maggots. The activity was held in Jembayan Dalam Village on July 14, in the form of capacity building through a socialization event about maggot BSF. Participants were given an understanding of the BSF life cycle, the cultivation process of BSF maggots, the types of organic waste as larvae feed, and the by-product produced at the end of the larvae treatment process. The event was attended by 25 people from Dusun Lembonang, Desa Jembayan Dalam. Six participants were interested in rearing BSF eggs that had been provided. There were six participants who tried to raise the BSF maggot from the eggs of BSF maggot that had been provided. However, only one participant succeeded in raising it for two weeks. The type of organic waste that she used was waste from onion skin and vegetables that already decaying. The length of the BSF maggot that was successfully maintained reached 2 cm. Most participants showed interest in BSF maggot cultivation because of its role in reducing organic waste and its products that can be used as poultry feed. Limited free time owned by the people in the village is an obstacle for them to practice BSF maggot cultivation.

Abstract

Somongari Village is a village located in Kaligesing District, Purworejo whose main income is from durian and mangosteen plantations. However, in the last three years, plantation yields have continued to decline and so have the incomes of the people. Somongari Village actually has other plantation products in the form of bananas and is only sold at low prices which can be processed into processed products of high economic value and can become products that can be sold and increase the economy when the mangosteen and durian yields recede. This service activity aims to increase entrepreneurial capacity through training in making chocolate banana chips until they are ready to be marketed along with training in calculating the cost of sales(HPP) of banana chips. The target of this training activity was 14 members of the Suka Karya Makmur Women Farmers Group (KWT). The training media are presentation slides, leaflets, cooking utensils, kitchen scales and ingredients for making banana chips. Activities were carried out using demonstration and simulation methods. Training on banana chips processing was attended by very enthusiastic and active training participants. However, on the topic of HPP calculation, it is a new knowledge for participants, so the explanation was carried out slowly. So far, the determination of the selling price only considers the price of raw materials and did not involve aspects such as labor and equipment depreciation costs. With this training, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge about how to process banana chips and HPP (p = 0.025). Skills in processing chips until they are ready for sale are also getting better. Through this training, participants could improve their entrepreneurial skills by setting a selling price so they can get maximum profit. Product processing training along with HPP training can improve participants' knowledge and skills. This can increase the entrepreneurial capacity as well as the economic status of the community.

Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance causes increased mortality and economic burden due to prolonged hospitalization, more expensive and longer use of antimicrobials, also the occurrence of superinfection which is difficukt to treat. The incidence of bacterial resistance to antibiotics is mainly due to the uncontrolled use of antibiotics, irrational treatment, as well as the lack of knowledge and behavior of health workers, especially general practitioners, specialists, and pharmacists towards emerging resistance conditions, especially reserved antibiotic groups in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this activity is to add insight and refresh information regarding the antibiotic resistance control program, as well as describe the ideal management of antibiotic resistance control through collaborative efforts of the various parties involved. This activity is packaged in form of national webinar using online zoom meeting and broadcast live on the YouTube platform of Faculty of Medicine University of Mataram. Abstract

The growth of village community groups that are active and have creative ideas will strengthen the acceleration of economic empowerment of rural communities. Businesses initiated by the community individually or in groups are carried out on a small scale, not yet managed properly with the short term aim of taking advantage of existing opportunities to earn income. Although the nature of the business is still seasonal by taking advantage of trends that are currently in demand, this creative effort from the participation of the village community has the potential to be developed in the future. The purpose of this partnership community service activity is to map creative businesses that arise from rural communities who have creative ideas by identifying business opportunities, obstacles and problems as well as prospects for future business development. The mapping was carried out through a survey of village community groups who run creative businesses in the Sigerongan Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency. Mapping the local potential of the village is needed, including business development opportunities from local potentials that may not appear, but have business prospects in the future. The results of this activity can identify opportunities, constraints and prospects for creative business in rural communities that can be used to open up new opportunities and initiate joint venture groups (KUBe) to obtain external funding opportunities through business development. This activity will also assist the stakeholders of Sigerongan Village in formulating a development strategy in planning the economic empowerment of the village community independently. Real mapping of potential opportunities, constraints and prospects for community-based business participation is needed to support the development of an advanced and independent village.
